While we're fine tuning last minute bugs and polishing up our public demo, which will be out very soon, why not get to read about the background lore of Post-War Dreams. Please meet your number one enemy in Post-War Dreams : Militia.
Post-War Dreams Version 0.465
Work is steady on Post-War Dreams. Even though the game will be launched as "Early Access" we are fully aware of the whole gaming community's concerns about Early Access, therefore we'll do our best to include as much as content possible at launch.
With this opportunity, we'd like to stress one more time that, we do NOT see Early Access as a source of income to complete the project. We already have enough funds to finalize the game we want. However, this kind of project is rather "large" in scope, therefore it definately needs player base input. We also want to evolve the story aspect of the game with the feedback from the community.
Here is one gif from the new level we've been working on. The climbing animations of the main character are totally place-holder assets, they will be re-worked.
Since Post-War Dreams is a 2.5 side-scrolling game, we'd want to experiment with all sorts of platforming action.
No Post-Apocalyptic game is complete without zombies, right?
Here's very early w.i.p verson of a new enemy type you'll find in Post-War Dreams.
Apart from our main adverseries like the Remnants and Militias who will fight you with their rifles and pistols, we now have free roaming merciless "infected" ones to chase you around.
Now, back to performance optimization so that we'll fill the screen with many many of these zombies:)
Here is one other important character that you'll meet in Post-War Dreams lore.
Meet Kara and her ambitious struggles in this post-apocalyptic wasteland.
Post-War Dreams Version 0.45
Working is steady on Post-War Dreams, our post-apocalyptic 2.5-D Action/Rpg set in USA wasteland after the fall. Last week, we were busy tweaking the post process effects of the game to find balance between city ruins sections and forest areas.
Below is a w.i.p screenshot from forest level. We're trying to find a contrast between the colorful look of comic books and try to blend that look in a post-apocalyptic setting.
Post-War Dreams Version 0.4
Work is on steady progress for Post-War Dreams. Last week, we have been busy tweaking the player controls, especially edge climb and grab.
We're considering putting up a public demo soon in order to get feedback and we're looking into certain web sites and portals to release it other than just the steam platform. If you have any suggestions, please let us know.
Our writer Wes Locher for Post-War Dreams has been very prolific lately, bringing lots of depth & background to the story. In between development of daily scriptig tasks, we'll try to present you each of the main characters you'll meet in the game.
Let's start with our main-hero, Garrett.
Post-War Dreams Update V.02
We are happy that our Pre-Alpha build, version V.02 is ready for internal testing and contains four chapters.
Our writer Wes Locher is very busy adding new content and the whole PWD texts are over 50.000 words already. Maybe that's too much of words but we want to present a rich, background world and lore, not just side-scrolling action.
Stay tuned!
