World Additions



  • Added additional movement directions for tribe members from four directions to eight, this allows pathfinding to be more diverse in traversing the land.
  • Added additional water patterns to include up to sixteen different varieties of water flow.
  • Added a new unique map and split the current map into its own unique map.

Mont Land



  • Mont Land is still the starting map and is generally the best map to play in terms of learning the basics of the game.
  • Resoures: Wood, stone, fish, berries and meat.
  • Enemies: Deer, saber tooth tiger, wolves, rhino and mammoth.
  • Generation: Trees, rivers, large rivers, stone, bushes and tribes.

Safari Desert



  • Safari Desert is generally a slightly harder to survive map as it is set out in the desert with hard to find resources and only the hardest hostile animals will spawn.
  • Resoures: Wood, stone, fish, berries and meat.
  • Enemies: Saber tooth tiger, wolves, rhino and mammoth.
  • Generation: Broken trees, stone and tribes.

Command Posts


Command posts are locked to the numpad (1 blue, 2 red, 3 green and 4 orange). You can now assign forteers to a command post by highlighting them with the Urok hand and clicking them in which they will be highlighted. You can unassign a tribe member by right clicking them in which they will return to their building. You can clear a command post by using (numpad 0) with a post highlighted in urok hand.

Worship Points and Urok Hand


Introducing worship points, each tribe members has an oppertunity to worship you as a god and increase your points. Points can now be spent on casting spells such as fire and water in future updates we will update a full skill tree which will use this feature.

New Animals


We have added wolves and rhinos to the mix of our already expanding animal kingdom.

Wolves - will attack any tribe member in range and call nearby wolves to help them strike their targets. Wolves at night will also call out to summon more wolves.

Rhinos - will attack directly in front of them charging and taking out any nearby object, animal or tribe member.

Other Additions



  • Added addition spawn generation for tree placement to make maps feel more dense.
  • Added a new building ForteerShack - this costs 20 wood to build and allows tribe members to be controlled to attack certain locations using the new command posts.
  • Added new command posts to direct your forteer tribe members.
  • Added tribe member sorting and viewing panel.
  • Added healing for tribe members under 50 percent of there overall health.
  • Added enemy tribes camp fire to show light for the player.
  • Added enemy tribes camp fire now destroys after killing the enemy tribe nearby.
  • Added outline to tribe members that you're currently hovering over.
  • Added tribe members death by diseases.

Changes



  • Changes made to accessing the options menu, this will now pause the game until you exit the menu.
  • Changes made to tribes movement pattern to become less restricted in certain circumstances.
  • Changed number 1 and 2 to remain as slow and fast speeds.

Bug Fixes



  • Fixed an issue with load game not appearing when saving from Creative or Survival.
  • Fixed an issue with music speeding up with the simulation speed.
  • Fixed an issue with slider for music volume in controls.
  • Fixed an issue with pausing the game would continue you to play tribal dance music.
  • Fixed an issue with pausing the game would still continue Tri-AI pathfinding.
  • Fixed an issue with changing speed during pause menu would cause issues with Tri-AI.
  • Fixed an issue with water tiling to become incomplete with unknown values of water flow.
  • Fixed an issue with water tiling to overlap.
  • Fixed an issue with water endings to join a pre-existing water flow.
  • Fixed an issue with debug movement still remaining in some instances.
  • Fixed an issue with enemy tribes not attacking tribe members with jobs.
  • Fixed an issue with pathfinding becoming corrupt after placing a tribe member a far distance from camp fire.
  • Fixed an issue with days survived would start from the 5th day rather then the 1st.
  • Fixed an issue with Urok hand lighting to vanish after changing generation in creative mode.
  • Fixed an issue with Enemy tribes spawning without camp fire.
  • Fixed an issue with Enemy tribes camp fire despawning when the day ends.
  • Fixed an issue with tribe members becoming locked in survival when story dialog was being shown.
  • Fixed an issue with destroying a building that contained a builder would stop you from building.
  • Fixed an issue with changing settings in the creative tab would reset speed back to the default speed.
  • Fixed an issue with health bar still visible after closing peep.
  • Fixed an issue with adjusting sound in-game wouldn't save properly.
  • Fixed an issue with loading previous audio setting during in-game.
  • Fixed an issue with tribes death not removing perimeter of detection.
  • Fixed an issue with building menu not displaying correct tab upon closing and reopening.
  • Fixed an issue with destroying buildings would cause worker icon to be visible and remain in position.
  • Fixed an issue with using fire power would sometimes freeze trees behavior.

I'm still working on an update for Primal Lands that we plan to be released before christmas, I have included a sneak peak picture within this post to show some of the new features in this update. Patch notes will be posted once the update is available.

Optimized Code



  • Updated internal software and compiler using the newer steam SDK.

New Features



  • Added Enemy tribes, enemy tribes will now set up a camp that is not occupied by another tribe.
    Note: Enemy tribes will visit during the night and set up a camp, enemy camp fires will not emit any light or heat for your tribe members.
    Enemy tribes can only attack tribe members that are currently not in a job, this is until we implement tribe members that can protect your territory and guard other tribe members.

  • Added Tribe death, tribe members will now die from starvation, heatstroke or hypothermia.
    Note: Tribe members being attacked by enemies will also need to heal to stop bleeding out. When all tribe members are dead, your game will end choose to fight wisely!
  • Added Tribe health meter to Tribe Statistics HUD.
    Note: Health meter will appear disfunctional if the tribe member is currently in diseased status.
  • Added Tribe hover and worker icons for both stonemason, forestry and quarry buildings.
  • Added Music to tribal dance, tribe members will now perform a rhythmic dance. Tribe members will only be recruited if the dance is identical if not be prepared to fight them!
  • Added Gameover screen when all your tribe has died which displays have many days you managed to survive.
  • Added Restore to default settings in the options menu.
    Note: If none of your controls are working please using this feature as it will correct these issues.
  • Added Font size for tooltips video settings in the options menu. (Please note this does not affect build menu or resources menu) - (Suggested by: Monkofmimmir)
  • Added Spawning for mammals that have despawned or been killed.
  • Added Destroy Buildings, there is now a new icon to the building menu to which you can now right click and destroy buildings.
    Note: You will not obtain any resource back from built building, this will be in the next update.
  • Added Creative option to disable enemy tribes from spawning.
  • Added More keyboard keys for control options.
  • Added More tree textures to give more variety in placement.
  • Added Pause option to speed settings (Pause/x1/x5/x10/x20) - Following key changes below keys are ([ / ]) to adjust speed.
  • Added Save game/Load game option only one save can be made per game mode (Survival and Creative). Load game will only be visible when you have at least one saved game.

  • Changes made for spawning mammals on generation. (Mammals will be restricted to deers for the first five days of playtime)

  • Changes made for speed up and down key commands from (- / + to [ / ])

  • Changes made to water texture to seem more integrated with the land.

Removal



  • Removed development double clicking from spawning enemy tribes.
  • Removed development option with being able to bring up debug console.
  • Removed development faster speed options / shortcuts being used.
  • Removed unused code.
