Prison King

Crime universe grows with Drug Dealer Simulator 2

Hi everyone!

While you’re waiting for our game, we have something interesting that may grab your attention. Our publisher Movie Games announced the sequel to their flagship criminal title: Drug Dealer Simulator 2.

The trailer looks sweet and the first game was great, so we encourage you to give it a look and visit their Steam page. Nothing supports an indie dev more effectively than wishlisting their game!

Let’s get INSIDE the lock-up!

Inmates! May I have your attention, please?

Since you are still new to our facility, I would like to make sure you know your way around. It will be your life now, after all.

So, our luxurious resort is not just the canteen and cells. It’s also a library, a workshop, an infirmary, a playing field, and more. I’m sure you’ll find plenty of ways to enjoy your stay!

Take a look here, but mind that this place is STILL IN THE WORKS. It’s our very first draft of the prison layout. It’s gonna change, and probably a lot, but we needed something to look at as an inspiration.

Now, what are all these markings, you ask? Kindly allow me to explain. See these blue lines? It’s the path of a guard patrol. What’s more, in every room there will be a stationary guard assigned to patrol that particular space. And the guards are not the only obstacle to you moving freely around the block.

In the corridors, you’ll need to be watchful of the cameras. It is a prison, after all. If you behave suspiciously and are caught by the camera, the nearest guard will be sent your way. It’s not impossible to sneak away, though, if you’re quick enough.

In most places you will go to, there will be other inmates present. Same goes for the guards but of course, prisoners are more numerous. These numbers can increase in special circumstances, such as a recent escape or maybe a rebellion taking place.

When you change blocks, some of your “customers” will remain in the old one. This will make delivering contraband a lot more difficult, as you will need to sneak into a totally different part of the prison. There will be some hiding places scattered around the prison which will come in handy… but more about that in the next post!

That is all for today. See you soon, inmates!

Welcome to the Joint

“Hey, kid. You new here?”

That’s how I’d say hi if we were in an actual prison. But let’s leave role-playing for the game. :)

I’m Alex and I’d like to introduce myself. I hope that over the time that it’ll take us to finish the production, we’ll get to know each other and together make sure that this is the game that we all want to play.

I’m a producer on Prison King, which means that I oversee the direction it’s going, and the quality of work. I know what’s going on and I will probably be the one to share the progress. For example, right now we have some people working on mapping the yard, with its gym and guard towers and whatnot. Before it’s properly textured and lit it looks really janky, but what the hell, take a look:

This will be very pretty when it’s done. At least as pretty as a prison can be!

So, it’s been nice to meet you. Follow us here or wishlist the game, and join our discord. Our team, myself included, will try to answer any questions you may have.

See you in the yard!
