Profundum Redux - anouncement + devlog #1

Hello everyone!

We are the Burning Daisies - a team of game developers, virtual reality enthusiasts, and above all, avid gamers. In January 2019, we released our first VR game, Profundum.

Our goal was to create an immersive steampunk world, with an interesting story and puzzles based on natural interactions and physics. We poured many hours of hard work and a lot of love into producing the game. Due to the imposed deadline, we didn't manage to realize all the ideas and polish the game the way we liked it.

What we're very happy about is that Virtual Reality technology has evolved a lot since then - many things we would do better now by adapting to current standards.
For these reasons, we decided to launch an experimental project to refresh the whole game so that both old and new users can enjoy it.

Working title: Profundum Redux.

This video is one of hopefully several video blogs illustrating the process of refreshing the game.

Valve Index Support!

Hi!

We've just added Valve Index Knuckles controllers support with latest update. Both free movement and teleportation are working fine.

Performance update released

We just released update with a lot of optimizations that should address most of the performance issues.

Fixes:
- many performance fixes
- quality settings as option ingame
- dynamic resolution switching option
- checkpoint during mech levels
- and much more

Performance update, DLCs and more

Hi everyone!

We want to announce that in the few next days we will release update fix that will address performance issues as well as some other fixes.

We also want to inform you guys that we are working on DLC packs with additional levels with even harder puzzles. Below is sample video of one of new levels.

And finally we are working on something we like to call "Director's Cut" update that will add alternative ending, additional fixes and updates among which we would like to include better hand presence.

WMR support fixed!

Hey!

We received comments and hints about Windows Mixed Reality headsets not working with Profundum game. We investigated this matter and well now this bug should be already fixed.

We hope that anyone with WMR headset will enjoy our game without any more hiccups.

EDIT: If you already tried to run the game before the fix it is possible SteamVR create empty controller bindings and set it as your default - these will not work with the game. If you still experience problem please check out these options https://imgur.com/1TXyd4G . Under there make sure you have selected the default mixed reality bindings create by developers https://imgur.com/lY5PEaB

Profundum launch!

Hi VR lovers!

Finally, we've launched Profundum for the Steam Community and we hope you'll have a blast playing our game!

But that doesn't mean we're abandoning the project - we already want to announce the first FREE dlc containing:

- an alternate ending
- a level selection screen
- steam achievements
- steam cloud save
- fixes (obviously)
- ...

Furthermore, we're planning more DLCs with extra levels that will push your brain to the limit with new puzzles.
