We did PROGETTO USTICA to preserve the memory. The memory of what happened that night, Jjune 27, 1980, when a missile destroyed the airplane DC9, flight IH-870, in the italian skies on the island of Ustica, Sicily.
81 people died.
We did PROGETTO USTICA with the support of Associazione Parenti delle Vittime della Strage di Ustica. They asked us not to put the real faces, the real bodies, of their dead relatives in the game. So you will find them as undefined people.
But today we want to remember all of them.

RAMSTEIN, 1988
Rammstein is a German industrial metal band formed in 1994.
The band took its name from the August 28th, 1988 Ramstein air show crash. The incident was caused by a collision between three Italian aircrafts during an exhibition flight of the legendary Frecce Tricolore. Mario Naldini and Ivo Nutarelli, expert pilots and instructors, died that day.
Naldini and Nutarelli, on the evening of June 27th, 1980, signaled a coded alarm, supposedly because they intercepted one or more foreign fighters covertly flying in the Italian airspace. Shortly after, the Itavia DC9 was hit by a missile of unknown origin.
Was Ramstein an accident?
This is one of the questions that Progetto Ustica presents to its players.

Opposing those who tried to hinder the investigation, some still keep alive the memory of this massacre.
Thanks to the MEMORY OF USTICA MUSEUM, people get the chance to know what happened, while looking for truth and justice.

The legal process of the Ustica case faced many obstacles over the years and misdirections are still present today.

ATTENTION TO DETAILS
We paid particular attention to the aircrafts involved in the scenario.
In specific:
- for the DC-9 interiors we carried out a thorough research, with several difficulties in finding the right materials;
- the aircraft firing the missile is deliberately unrecognizable (parts of different planes have been used), because it is not yet confirmed who launched it.

PROGETTO USTICA soundtrack was designed to dive the player back in time, through some typical 80s sounds, like the minimoog and the Roland Jupiter series.
