Today, we would like to talk about an issue that may seem trivial at first glance, but that made many players uncomfortable at one time or another. There are many things that can be annoying when playing a game, and encountering cheaters is definitely one of them. In a gaming environment where personal skill should be the most accurate indicator of a player's performance, cheating often leads to the opposite result. The PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS Team is aware of the fact that players have suffered a lot due to cheating in the game, so we have been making continuous efforts to provide a clean and safe environment. Although there is still some room for improvement, through this first update of the FAIR.PUBG series, we would like to inform you about the reorganization of the report system.
Player reports are an important resource when it comes to identifying and suspending cheaters. Cheaters are also aware of this and therefore have been trying to avoid or reduce the chance of getting reported. For example, it has been confirmed that cheaters are abusing the system by not getting kills or placing first on purpose.
As a result, the community has consistently asked for improvement that will enable them to report a broader group of players, not just the players who fall into the categories of 'players who have recorded kills' or 'players caught on the spectator screen.' In the January 2023 update, we have made changes so that players who made assists or made other players DBNO can also be reported. There were concerns for an increase in false bans, but we prevented the risk of false bans by classifying report cases/circumstances through the ML model, and therefore an increase in accuracy (probability of temporarily sanctioning cheaters) has been confirmed.
This change is the first step in improving the report system, and we would like to share in advance about our future plans. As mentioned earlier, player reports are an important resource for classifying and counteracting suspected cheaters. However, since the current report system has been used for more than 5 years since the official launch of PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS (December 2017), there are parts that do not fit the current status of the game, so we plan to improve this gradually in the future. Future plans include the following.
Report Categories
First of all, we plan to reorganize/adjust the current report categories so that we can look into and respond to players' reports of cheaters more accurately. For example, if someone repeats a specific action in the game, they may be abusing the system to gain more experience points, but the current system does not have a suitable category for reporting such behavior. Also, there is a need for report categories for players that make advertisements/promotions through voice chat, etc., or players who group up with cheaters.
Classification and Improvement of Report Categories for the Use of Illegal Software
The current report system provides four detailed categories ("The player's aim automatically snapped onto the target", "The player attacked without line of sight of the target", "The player's movement speed was unusually high", "The player's weapon recoil was absent"), but the following two problems are making it difficult to accurately grasp the context.
The currently available report categories might not accurately describe the current illegal software functions in some cases. For example, 'an act of tracking or finding an unlocated player' rather than 'attacking without line of sight of the target' is a description that better fits the functions of illegal software.
About 89% of player reports are delivered with three or more detailed reasons selected, making it difficult to identify the specific type of illegal software. We are also considering introducing an interface that encourages players to choose the most suitable reason rather than multiple ones, or that allows players to actually describe the situation in detail.
The major improvements that we are currently planning are as above, but we also highly value player input and feedback. The PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS Team is always paying close attention to community feedback, and we will continue to listen to your voices and refer to them for improvement.
Also, the reports you are sending even at this moment are also valuable and important data, so it will be very helpful if you actively use the report system. We highly appreciate all your voices and want to thank you all for your interest. Despite some shortcomings, we promise that we will do our best to create a more pleasant and safe gameplay environment in the future.

We’re nudging some healthy balance updates to several of our well-known weapons this update. We constantly strive to create a balanced and enjoyable gameplay experience and in order to achieve this goal we analyze months’ worth of player data, monitor community feedback, and conduct extensive testing.
AUG: We’ve observed that the 5.56mm’s overperformance appears to have stabilized following the Mk12 readjustment in our last update. However, we have also noted the limited options for 5.56mm AR weapons, particularly when compared to the diverse selection of 7.62mm weapons. This is why we’ve decided to make significant changes to our arsenal ecosystem starting this update – we’ve brought in FAMAS, a powerful 5.56mm weapon, to exclusive locations such as Care Packages. Furthermore, we are introducing the AUG as a world spawn weapon and adjusting its stats accordingly to make it more potent but also more challenging to handle compared to the M416. These changes will establish the AUG as a formidable choice among 5.56mm ARs. M416: The M416 is widely favored among ARs due to its excellent balance of firepower and stability, and its impressive performance in combat. However, to introduce new changes, we have determined that a minor adjustment to the M416 was necessary. M16A4 and Mk47 Mutant: The M16A4 and Mk47 Mutant, which lack the Full-Auto mode, are currently underperforming. We have also taken note of our community’s desire to see the return of high-risk, high-reward weapons from the early days of PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS. As a result, we have increased the Single and Burst RPM of the M16A4 and Mk47 Mutant to a higher level, based on your feedback and internal testing. Shotguns: We also understand your frustrations with encountering shotguns after shotguns and getting instantly knocked out, especially early in game. To preserve the concept and authenticity of shotguns, we’ve decided to reduce the spawn rates of shotguns and their corresponding ammo instead of adjusting their performance. With this change, we hope it’ll make it more challenging for players to rely excessively on shotguns during early-game. We’ve also slightly increased the spawn rates for ARs, DMRs, and SMGs instead to see more various combats from the start. As we mentioned in our previous Dev Letter: Gunplay Development Direction, we wish to create a diverse gameplay environment where players are able to freely choose the weapon that best fits their playstyle, rather than feeling as if they’re in need to use a particular weapon to compete. We understand the importance of maintaining fair balance in the game, and we are committed to continually monitoring your plays and feedback.

A Tier system has been added to Survival Mastery. Level up beyond 500 and receive new rewards along the way!
You may now move up a single Tier and begin again from Level 1 every time you level up from Level 499.
The maximum Tier you can reach is Tier 5.

LABS: ZOMBIE SURVIVAL 2.0 RETURNS
Hello Survivors!
How have you been? There’s good news and bad news. The bad news is that the zombies have returned, still longing for your blood. However, the good news is that you can outsmart the zombies by utilizing tactical items and cooperating with your team, so never let go of hope!
LABS: Zombie Survival 2.0 has returned with even more hordes of zombies!
We hope you survive the zombie invasion with either expertise or beginner’s luck.
BASIC RULES
Zombie Survival has a total of 10 stages that last 3 minutes each.
To get to the next stage:
Kill every zombie OR
At least one teammate stays alive until the very end.
Once a stage is cleared, you and your squad will have a 20-second break before moving on to the next stage.
Teammates who died in the previous stage will respawn and continue to the next stage as well.
The game will end as a Zombie Dinner if the entire squad gets wiped out.
ZOMBIES
Zombies spawn once a stage starts.
As you proceed along the stages, expect more zombies, stronger zombies, and even special types of zombies!
The special zombies in Zombie Survival 2.0 are:
Zombies throwing Molotov Cocktails,
Zombies throwing Blue Zone Grenades,
Zombies holding grenades in their mouths (can only be killed by headshots),
And zombies with C4 attached to their bodies.
SURVIVAL COINS AND EQUIPMENT/ITEMS
SURVIVAL COINS
Earn Survival Coins by taking down zombies.
The Survival Coins are stored in your inventory (Max. 999).
Players cannot drop Survival Coins.
Players who die and respawn for the next stage will have the amount of Survival Coins they had before they died.

The basic set of equipment each player starts out with is:

Anti-Zombie Table Leg
You can gain additional Survival Coins when you take down zombies with the Anti-Zombie Table Leg
Purchase various tactical items through your inventory with Survival Coins.
Stronger weapons cost more Survival Coins.

There are tactical items in Zombie Survival 2.0 such as:
Traps to temporarily stop zombies from moving,
Sticky Traps and Sticky Chemicals to temporarily slow down zombies,
Zombie Stun Grenades to stun zombies,
Healing Chemicals to heal you and your team,
Zombie C4, Can Bombs, Zombie Blue Zone Grenades, and Anti-Zombie Chemicals
SCORES
Scores are cumulated by taking down zombies.
Check your current score anytime during the game by pressing the world map.
You and your teammates’ final scores will be shown after the game.

BUG FIXES
The bugs fixed for this year’s Zombie Survival 2.0 are as below.
The issue where the player coming in first place is not shown on the spectator’s screen
The issue where it says the stage is already cleared when you enter the waiting screen after completing a certain stage
The issue where one can levitate to inaccessible areas from certain areas
The issue where the visual effect is not visible when throwing Sticky Chemicals on the floor
INFORMATION ON LABS
The current LABS started off as a system in which players can experience various experimental features and modes of PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS. Until now, we have operated various modes through LABS, but since LABS was originally developed for testing purposes, the current LABS service is limited to only one mode at a time. Therefore, when there is a new LABS mode in service, the previous LABS mode will be closed, which means that Intense Battle Royale mode will not be serviced during the service period of LABS: Zombie Survival 2.0. Intense Battle Royale will, however, return after Zombie Survival 2.0.
The good news is that as many players have been wanting to play Intense Battle Royale in FPP, FPP will be available for Intense Battle Royale in Custom Matches starting this month.
LABS and Arcade, both of which currently service modes, will be merged during the second half of this year. The Arcade will then be expanded to service multiple modes simultaneously. We are also considering making Intense Battle Royale available in the Arcade after the reorganization. Stay tuned for the changes since there is a chance we might add FPP to Intense Battle Royale when you see it in the Arcade!

We’d first like to thank everyone who participated in our third Fan Art Contest.
With the contest’s theme based on one of the most popular icons of PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS – the HELMET (LEVEL 3) – we’ve received many submissions from talented participants all around the globe! And of course, selecting the top five was extremely difficult as every design manifested outstanding qualities.
But without further ado, let us go ahead and announce the top five finalists. Out of the final five designs below, the final winner’s design will be nominated based on public vote’s results. The design will then be created and released as an in-game skin.
We encourage you all to vote for the Helmet design you’ll want to see and equip on the Battlegrounds!

[2022 Fan Art Contest: SURVIVE] announces the five finalists, and the final winner will be announced once public vote is over.
Each account is given only a single chance to vote and you may not vote for more than one design. You will also notbe able to change your vote once you submit.
The public will vote through PUBG.com, where the finalists’ designs are displayed, and the winner earning the highest vote will receive the prize money of $6,000.
We will collect the winners’ personal information such as name, phone number, account information, copy of identification card etc. used to send the reward and pay taxes and public charges (paid by the winner). Also, the winner will be asked to give consent to the collection and usage of their personal information. You may decline the reward if you do not agree.
If the reward is declined, the prize will be given to the next eligible entrant based on the announced judging criteria.
Winners may not be eligible to receive rewards if they fall under any of the following conditions:
A. The applicant’s contact information has been entered falsely;
B. Any taxes and public charges owed by you have not been deposited by the notified deposit period;
C. The winner does not meet the age-rating requirement of the game;
D. The recipient of the actual prize does not match the name of the winner;
E. The winner does not submit the required documents or pay relevant tax by the notified period; or
F. The winner does not accept or reject the prize within the allotted time.
The prize will be given after the champion is announced(after the Fan Art Contest: SURVIVE is over).
