I want to thank everyone who has supported Pumpkin Days throughout the years, but I have to pull the bandaid off and with a heavy heart announce that there will no longer be any new updates for Pumpkin Days. I know this announcement will make some people disappointed, especially new players just discovering the game, but I want to be open and transparent.
We've spent a long seven years working on this game (2014 - 2022) and the game is feature complete. We’ve put in everything we had planned to put in the game and more. We've done a considerable amount of work doing bug fixes and polishing the game over the last two years. If you go back through our news updates, you will see that there were many bug fixes and we even added unplanned features based on player feedback in order to improve the game experience. Pumpkin Days was also made using an old version of the UE4 engine (A customized version of UE4.10 specifically), and I've decided it'd be better to move on to a new project with a fresh start, with new and better software. Lastly, while the game was successful for our first indie game, we did not make enough game sales to pay for the talent needed to continue working on the game beyond a certain point. And on that note...
Jayden, our lead programmer has officially left the team to pursue other things after dedicating 5 years to the project to which I am eternally grateful. We wish him all the best.
I want to sincerely apologize for any bugs we couldn't find. I especially apologize for the haphazard attempt at adding translations to the game. We bit off much more than we could chew but we wanted to try. Despite the game not being perfect, I hope you can all see the love that we put in. Many players have enjoyed hundreds of hours in the game, and I hope the community can continue to enjoy many more.
We did set up a few things that can be modded in the game. I don't want the Pumpkin Days community to feel like they've been abandoned, so if there are any major issues, crashes, or game corruption I want to make it clear that players can still contact us on Discord, or ask the community, for help. I'll try to personally help in any way that I can.
Thank you everyone again for your support. It's time to move on and I hope to see you for the next adventure.
Pumpkin Patch 1.0.6
New Pumpkin Patch!
I may or may not have skipped a version by accident, sorry about that. This pumpkin patch fixes some controller issues, typos, and a few other little things. If you notice anything amiss or broken as a result of this patch please let us know. Thank you again for your support and for playing
Pumpkin Patch 1.0.4 - Multi-crop harvesting + some bug fixes
This is a small pumpkin patch with what may be the last new major feature in the game. Multi-crop harvesting. You can get the tools for multi-crop harvesting via completing the farming quota, or if you are lucky and are gifted it by an NPC as a reward item. There were also some bugs with the marriage in multiplayer which hopefully should be fixed, as well as some other miscellaneous bug fixes.
The German translations were very ambitious for us and the game probably has only 30% of the text translated, but we hope to continue adding some more translations for future patches. We apologize for the sloppy attempt and localizing on our own.
If you notice any issues after this patch, please let us know as soon as possible. We are a small team and we may have overlooked something while testing before the patch. Thank you again everyone for your support I hope you have been enjoying Pumpkin Days.
Pumpkin Patch 1.0.3 + Modding Added, a few minor bug fixes
Thank you to everyone who is still playing and enjoying Pumpkin Days! We're terribly sorry for the long delay, but we've finally released a version of the game that can modded. The patch notes are:
PATCH NOTES
+ Added signs that say what the shop times are. + Coffee seeds are cheaper + Fixed cat bringing bugs that don't exist in the game and do nothing. + Added more food items that NPCs should like based on their liked and loved the description. + Updated recipes that use entire fish for 1 recipe to using the fillets instead. + Modding capabilities added (Please visit Pumpkin Days website for more information) + Storage shed is craftable. + New Eyebrow types added + Fixed jittering when picking up crops in multiplayer + Possibly fixed clients not seeing farming quotas in 'farm as rivals' in multiplayer.
Since the development of this game is wrapping up, We will no longer be adding new features or taking any suggestions. Our focus has shifted towards making some parts of the game moddable.
MODDING PUMPKIN DAYS
You can find the Github on how and what can be modded in Pumpkin Days here. The Github link is also available on our website and on the DIscord as well. For now, you can mod multiple variables used in the data tables in the game. We're going to be hands-off when it comes to the modding community for Pumpkin Days, but if you need help we do have a #modding channel on our Discord.
Examples of things that can be modded include but are not limited to: - Editing item information such as description and prices - Editing and adding dialogue - Changing stats for tools and effects of items - Changing some npc information - Translations
Since the game has been out for a while. Anyone who is interested can poke around our data table files or use our dev cheat codes etc. Have fun.
Please note, that since Pumpkin Days is developed using a 3rd party engine UE4, we can't implement mods as easily as other games with their own systems and we will be restricted to what we can make available. Our next focus is to figure out how to make textures moddable in the game and then we'll wrap up the project.
If you notice any major bugs caused by this patch please let us know ASAP. Thank you again for your support.
Pumpkin Patch Delayed + Modding Progress
Patch Delayed
Thank you to everyone who has been playing Pumpkin Days! I'm glad the community seems to really enjoy the game despite a few hiccups here and there. We were planning a patch around this time to fix some bugs, but we had a nasty unexpected bug that corrupted a small, but important section of the game. It should be fixed, but as a precaution, we would like to take some time to comb through the game and make sure nothing else was affected. As a result, the bugs that we had already fixed are being held up, to which we apologize if this has affected your gameplay.
Modding Progress
We are still working on making some parts of the game moddable. We're almost done with the setup that would give modders the ability to adjust variables and string values in the game. We're in the stage of writing up the documentation and instructions. If this seems like something you are interested in I recommend joining our Discord and checking out the #Modding channel where we are gathering feedback and in communication with players who are interested in modding the game.
Thank you so much to everyone who has been playing Pumpkin Days. If you haven't already don't forget to leave us a review with your thoughts about the game. We are a small indie studio so if you need anything or have any questions you can talk to us the devs at any time. We are best reached via the Official Discord. Have a good week.

Post Launch News + Multiplayer + Modding + Future Plans
TLDR: Launch went well, modding is happening, multiplayer has issues we can't fix at this time usually restarting fixes the issues. We're still going to be patching the game and looking at suggestions for the next few months.
Summary
We were really nervous, but it looks like the final launch of Pumpkin Days has been going really well. There have been a few bugs, which is expected, but thankfully nothing horribly game-breaking and we'll be patching in some of the fixes later in a small patch. I'm really happy everyone has been having fun and is enjoying the game. We would not have gotten this far without the community that has been supporting us throughout early access. Especially the bug-reporting. I can't stress how important and grateful we are to those who report bugs. We're a small team of two and with the scope of Pumpkin Days it's impossible for us to test every aspect of the game.
A Few Issues and suggestions
So there are two issues that are dragging down the game, which we can't do much about at this time. The first being the movement. Despite our best efforts we still are getting complaints and negative reviews on the frustrations with the controls. That is too bad, but understandable. We designed the movement poorly from the beginning and we can't simply change it at this point without breaking other parts of the game. My best suggestions are trying out the 'move with mouse' in the settings, or playing with a controller which I have heard some players prefer. Again I apologize for this inconvenience.
The other issue is multiplayer. As of now, it seems like most players can enjoy multiplayer without game-breaking issues. However, for some players, there have been problems playing with friends. Many of the bugs being reported are more of an optimization issue. So reports of rubberbanding, player body parts lagging behind, spawning into a game with the camera inside the character. These are all inconsistent bugs related to latency and some of these reports we've never experienced first hand as developers despite testing playing multiplayer multiple times. It doesn't mean that multiplayer is completely broken, but it's not perfect either. The Pumpkin Days multiplayer experience is going to depend on the player's internet connection, and whether or not there are hiccups in the transmission of data over their networks. It's a bit annoying, but exiting the game usually corrects most issues, so please try that before giving up on multiplayer. Sorry again for that inconvenience
Modding
This has been highly suggested, so we are looking into adding modding to the game. Expect some kind of modding capabilities for most of the strings in the game later this month. We can't promise anything specifically that players can mod, since this is unknown territory for us, but we'll see what we can do. Just know that you are modding at your own risk and we're not responsible if you mess with some settings that completely break your game. We're simply setting up a system where players can edit and in some cases add data. We'll reveal more information about that later. If you have suggestions or ideas for that please let us know on Discord.
Future plans
It's been a long 7 years of working on this game, so we've been taking it easy this month. But we're going to read through player suggestions and see if there is anything that is simple for us to add at this time. We plan to keep an eye on Pumpkin Days and patch the game with bugs fixes for the next few months. If you want to follow our development or have questions you can always reach out to us on Discord. We're a small game dev studio so, again, if you want to reach out to any of the devs you can talk to us directly at any time :) We're friendly I promise and always happy to help and listen to the community. Thank you everyone for your support!
Pumpkin Patch 1.0.0 + Pumpkin Days is out of Early Access YAY!
TLDR: We're out of early access which is exciting, but we're also out of money for development so there are a few imperfections that we weren't able to fix. All the main features are in, there should be no game-breaking bugs. We're still working on the game and we'll still be putting out pumpkin patches.
Yay! We're Out of early access!
It's been a long almost 7-year journey developing Pumpkin Days, but we're finally out of early access. Special thank you to everyone who got us to this point.
♥ The Kickstarter backers who gave this project legs back in 2014.
♥ The YouTubers and Streamers who gave us a major visibility boost when the game was out in early access.
♥ Everyone who hung out and donated on Twitch while we worked on the game.
♥ The Patreon backers who gave us that extra monthly boost for the past year.
♥ All freelancers and artists that contributed art, animation, models, music, writing for the game. A special shoutout to the ones who worked with us when our budget was really tight.
♥ Special shout out to Jayden, who programmed the entire game solo and stayed with the project for 6 years.
♥ Thank you Margaret for managing the community and keeping things organized.
♥ Thanks to my partner who helped keep me going when I wanted to curl up into a ball and give up when things got tough.
♥ Thank you to all the players who bought the game in early access even when it was a mess. The sales helped a ton in giving us the budget to make it to this point
We still have work to do
All the main features are implemented, and the bug reports have slowed down quite a bit and so we felt this would be a good time to transition out of early access. However, Pumpkin Days is still not perfect. Given the scope of this project and the size of the team, I'm sure there are things we have missed or things that we wanted to implement but couldn't. We're still going to be polishing the game and fixing issues that are reported when we can.
New price
Despite the shortcomings of the game, some players have reported hundreds of hours of gameplay and the average hours played between all players is 30 hours. So I hope the new price will be seen as a fair deal and the extra income will help us cover costs to keep working on the game for the next few months.
(Please don't ask us about Steam sales, we're not allowed to say if and when we will put the game on sale before it goes on sale)
How can I help?
If you want to help push the development of Pumpkin Days a bit further you can.
1. Buy the game 2. Support us on our Patreon. There are monthly postcards and stickers of the characters) 3. Gift Pumpkin Days to friends 4. Leave us a positive review if you are enjoying the game. 5. Make fanart and tell other people about the game.
Thank you once again, everyone. Remember you can always reach out to the developers on Discord. If there are any issues, comments or concerns let us know. (Momo's DMs are always open)
Pumpkin Patch 1.0.0 (Small Patch)
Pumpkin Patch 1.0.0
Just fixed up a couple of small things such as typos and visual glitches. The luxury wall couldn't be placed when crafted and chickens were either not going to sleep or spawning under the coop. Those should be fixed. Thank you for your support.
Pumpkin Patch 0.4.8 is now out! (more bug fixes)
This patch mostly contains some bug fixes. A lot of cosmetic fixes as well. We're really close to coming out of early access. Possibly just one or two more patches and we are good to go.
