Purgatory status

We regret to announce that for the moment the game should be
considered on hold indefinitely. We are still currently trying to gain investment
to finish the title, which is why it has been difficult to give solid information about the game's status.

As you can see this is taking a very long time but we will keep trying, we just feel it only fair that we make you aware of our situation, early access did not work out and we need investment to continue.

For now we would like to apologise again for the delay, thank all those who have taken a chance on the game, and ask that you presume production will remain halted unless we state otherwise.

Purgatory News

Hi everyone, we would like to apologise for the lack of information recently.

Due to unforseen circumstances regarding budget and funding, we have had to halt progress on Purgatory since the last update.

We want to thank everyone who has taken a chance on this early access title, and apologise for the stall in production of the product we promised.

Come the new year we will have a better idea of the future of Purgatory and we will relay that information to you ASAP.

UI update!

This update contains a facelift for the lobby shop, inventory and in-game interface to make it much sleeker and more in-keeping with the game's theme.

We've also patched some bugs which include:

Player's dying on the spikes in Hane's arena if they come within close proximity

3rd person camera causing glitching when you face directly up or down

Poison not affecting players or displaying in the poison indicator

Another big update!


Here is what our latest update includes:

Splash damage has now been fixed.

Spell pass-through has been fixed.

Phoenix now homes in correctly.

Trap deaths have been fixed.

Hane's arena has been upgraded to a larger, better looking map.

New 8 player map - Archeron Arena!

Camera now follows your ragdoll upon death.

Character page has been optimized to show level/exp easier.

Our next big update is here!

We have implemented 2 new maps:

Plague Town and Island Fortress

These maps will be for large scale battles (8-16) players.

Due to their size we have given players speed increases on these levels to help naviagate them quicker.

We have also added the option for 3rd person perspective by pressing V.

Duel mode now has a 10 kill victory requirement instead of being time-based.

And lastly we have added sounds for walking on different types of ground, walking through water and falling a long distance.

Bug fixes

Bot team fights are now functioning properly, you will no longer be set as an enemy of every AI player.

Level not updating when the required exp amount is reached is now fixed.

Ai will now react to player spell effects such as knockback on fireball and attract on black hole.

Fear the Archmage!

We're pleased to announce that Archmage mode is here! A 1v3 battle where the ultra powerful Archmage is selected randomely amongst all participating human players. First side to reach 15 kills wins!

Only human players can be selected as the Archmage at the moment, so if you play against bots, you will always be the Archmage.

AI is ready to destroy you!

We are pleased to announce that AI is now implemented in Purgatory, you can now fight to your hearts content against tenacious bots in a duel, death match or team death match. Good luck!
