EA1 coming to close. Prepare for EA2 - OPEN LEAGUE!
Hey everyone! I'm here to update you guys and gals on our production plans for the near future.
Over the past couple of weeks we've seen the final of the multiplayer kinks straightened out and felt the excitement and engagement of real competition with our first tournament. Considering our next steps, we couldn't help but arrive at the conclusion that with all due respect to adding content (Sets, hex types, powerups...) as our roadmap suggested, we need ranked competitive multiplayer first.
We gotta start building our league system. It is simply way more important for RNX's development right now, and with the state of our current build, we feel the game is definitely ready for it.
So that's what we're gonna be doing next!
EA1 is going to get it's last update towards the end of the week.
This update, EA1.5, will include all the physics and performance improvements we've been developing and testing in the Beta over the past few weeks, as well as the long awaited Zen mode and some multiplayer balancing tweaks.
With this, we feel that we'll have accomplished what we've set out to do with Early Access 1 - to firmly lay down the game's foundations.
So towards the coming end of EA1, I want to give a bit shout out to all our players. The community that's gathered around RNX is nothing short of amazing, and we love you guys a whole shit ton. Thanks for your company and help during RNX's first two months. We're very proud to have you as our players!
As soon as EA1.5 is out, it's straight to:
Early Access 2 - Open League!
EA2 will unlock Season 1 of Racket: Nx's competitive league - for which we do not yet have a name* :) Season 1 is going to be Open League - that means that everyone will be playing from the same player pool, and will be relatively ranked according to their skill rating.
Skill rating will be determined by an adaptive win/loss point system. We'll expand on that down the road.
As our community grows, we'll open more leagues and start segregating them by player skill.
EA2 will take between one to two months of development, and during this time we won't be updating the public build.
We're stoked about this change of plan, because ranked play is going to be fun af! But also because we believe that this will be a unique, engaging and social thing to offer to the VR landscape.
Besides, this is a step towards our vision of RNX becoming a VR eSport played competitively and watched by a scene of hardcore dudes and dudettes.
So that's our plan's update.
In the meantime, we're gonna continue with more and improved tournaments, so stay tuned here and on Discord.
You can see the full roadmap here.
Ciao!
- Dave

Hey!
We've just made RNX EA1 public and we're already having our first multiplayer games with people we've never met.
This is Matan, our best warrior, who did 3600 points on our Demo, playing with a guy called Blackfyre. We're all pretty psyched.
Blackfyre, welcome to our game.
Hope you like the knobs!

Racket: Nx to be released on Steam Early Access January 31 2017
2017 is going to be awesome and we are psyched to announce that Racket: Nx Early Access 1 will be released on Steam on January 31 for the HTC Vive.
Racket: Nx is an Arcade Space Sport. Imagine playing racquet-ball in a 360 arena, with classic arcade-style game rules and influences. Now put that arena in outer space and you've got RNX.
Racket: Nx Early Access 1 is the first of three major Early Access updates we plan to release on Steam in 2017. Racket: Nx Early Access 1 features are:
* Single-Player mode
* Competitive Multiplayer mode
* Arcade mode (previously known as Training)
* A bunch of gameplay, visual and auditory improvements since the Demo
we released in 2016.
Each Early Access update will continue to expand the game with new features such as ranked play, replay options, spectator mode, level editing and sharing, etc. and we’ll also be routinely updating with gameplay tweaks and bug fixes. Our entire roadmap is public and we'll be keeping it alive and responsive as player feedback and design considerations develop. The full game will be released at the end of 2017.
Racket: Nx Early Access 1 will be priced at $19.99. Each Early Access update will see the price rise slightly, as we add more content and features to the game.
Our vision for Racket: Nx is to create the first eSports game for VR. That means making the physics tight and precise, encouraging players to always push the bar and improve their game. It means giving our all to the audio-visuals, making the game fun to play and to watch. It means introducing game elements that adds drama and make competitive games nail-biting. And above all, it means nurturing our community and treating our players with respect, trust and honesty.
On this note, we want to thank everyone who played the Racket: Nx demo. Thank you for your feedback, for posting videos, and for the overwhelmingly positive responses. You have made us and our partners, Waves Audio and Keshet International Gaming, believe in this vision and go all-in for it.

2017 Is going to be a very interesting year for RNX.
We are going to come out with a few large Early Access updates, and a full game by the end of the year.
Our vision for the game and our belief in what it can be are crystal clear, and still, we don't know exactly we'll end up with.
The world of VR is developing super quickly with so many arcades popping up and new tech around the corner, and so much of it is still uncharted. Players are invited in early and are going to continue helping us define and develop the game, as our reality check and as our exo-cortex, and who knows where that will lead. So much is unknown and so much is subject to change over 2017.
What we do know is that for us, this year is going to be a year of creating, for sure. But also one of exploration and response.
And with that, we'd like to wish you all that 2017 be a creative year, full of purpose, happiness and new findings.
So many plans, so many ideas, so many unknowns. We're curious and eager to get the year rolling.
It's going to be a crazy one, and we are *SO *ready for it!
Much Love,
Boof, Usul, Matan, Niv, Egozy, Ziv, Bozar and Dave.

Early Access Steam Announcement
Hey guys!
Thanks for being so patient, we've been wanting to make this announcement for a long while now and are happy to say that we can finally do so with full confidence.
Racket: Nx will be launching in Steam Early Access in late January 2017!
We know we promised late 2016, but this delay is due to us getting a new partner on board the project, securing our ambitions for the game's development over 2017.
The first Early Access release is going to include these major features:
* Competitive Multiplayer
* Single player mode (in addition to the current Training mode)
* Additional gameplay features
* A bunch of other stuff :)
We'll be releasing more information about these over the next couple of months, and an official public announcement will be made towards the launch date.
During 2017 we will continue to update the Early Access with content and features towards the full game release later that year. The main features we will be adding throughout 2017 are:
* More multiplayer modes
* A League system
* Level editor and other user generated content creation and sharing tools
* eSport features (observer mode, custom match settings, etc.)
* Sick music ;)
The main reason we're going for Steam Early Access is that we want to get something out there as soon as possible. First of all to see that people want it, but also to start getting feedback to help us understand which features to focus on, which features to dump, and just in general to tailor the game to the Vive community.
Since the Demo's release, we've been getting so much helpful feedback, ideas, and love from you guys here on Steam and on Reddit. It's really what made development on this game possible for us, motivating us immensely and inspiring confidence in our partners.
We'd like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your participation and efforts and we can't wait to start the Early Access process with you guys.
Let's go make the sickest game VR has seen!
Much love,
Niv, Usul, Boof, Matan, Dave, Bozar and Egozy.
Demo patch
Hey everyone,
As we're working hard towards the early access version, we finally nailed the occasional "racket miss" bug (as reported by some of you).
We figured this is important enough, and easy to patch, to justify a minor update. We would love to hear back from you guys to know that this issues is resolved.
A more substantial announcement about early access dates and features will be made real soon.
