Flatspace Music Pack 2 Released Today

Hello everyone,

The new Flatspace music pack is now released with a 20% launch discount.

This is the second pack of 9 new in-game music tracks to enhance Flatspace IIk. Like any in-game music for Flatspace, these will trigger at random when you enter a new sector.

The original Second Music Pack for Flatspace II was created in 2008, and included lots of game themes and tracks from the album Stupid
Computer Music, such as China Syndrome. Those tracks were catchy and energetic, like game title themes, so when working on this new pack I decided to compile music that inspired epic feelings of space exploration and excitement, so in the end Journey Through Fractional Space was the only track from that early pack that made it into this new set.

The nine tracks are:

Blue Nebula
This is a new remaster of a 2012 track that sets something of an epic scene.

Journey Through Fractional Space
Commissioned by a Flatspace II player, the brief was to create an action tune that crossed two existing tunes from the first game: Catacombs and Cobra. The full six minute version appears on the album Stupid Computer Music.

Pandora
Created in 2013 for the album Bites of Greatness, the idea for the track was to create a catchy piece of music reminiscent of game themes from the 8-bit era.

Rock-It 99
I wanted to emulate the feeling of race-game arcade music, and the result was this high energy track. Previously unpublished.

Sonus
This mysterious track is the opening track to part two of my 2018 release, A Walk in The Countryside. The eerie sound here is a perfect evocation of exploring a strange, new frontier, making it ideal for Flatspace.

Strange Angles
An odd time signature for an unusual piece of music inspired by a sculpture and composed for a 2019 album of ekphrastic music, Music of Poetic Objects. I had Philip Glass in the back of my mind while working on this.

The Dark Cliffs
I wanted to include some more expressive, naturalistic music in the pack and The Dark Cliffs is exactly that. The full track appears on my 2019 album, Tree of Keys.

The Glass Screen
This is an edit of the final track from my 2018 release, A Walk in The Countryside. The track is a strange blend of electronic game music and acoustic piano music. The full album track includes electronic vocals.

Trax
A high energy track from Bites of Greatness.

Yinyang Released

Our latest game, Yinyang, was released today on Steam.

Yinyang is a small and simple adventure game starring a little ball. The aim is simply to roll over some tiles to flip them and make them vanish. When they're all flipped, the exit will open, so the trick is to find a one-way path. There are lots of special tiles and bonus rounds, and other games to unlock.

This is my third Steam release and my second 2019 remaster. It's a very different game from Radioactive but still features new graphics, full controller support, and support for the latest graphics hardware.

Yinyang is out today with a 10% launch discount.

Take a look at the game on the store page:

Radioactive Released

The launch button has been pushed! Radioactive is now on sale.

Radioactive is a turn-based strategy game based on a simple idea. Players begin a world map (rendered in glorious 1980s wireframe), and a random scatter of missile silos (or submarines, or airbases, or other things to fire from). Players take it in turns to select a unit, set the direction and range to a target, and click fire. It's a variation on a classic genre of set-the-angle games.

Playable with one to four players, any of which can be human or A.I. (no network play as yet)! Games can be massively customised too, which really adds a lot of depth. You can choose you exact mix of units, which map to play on, as well as difficulty and game speed, so you can play games that take a few minutes, or a few hours.

Radioactive v1.13 Pre-release Update

In preparation for the public release on 22 March, Radioactive has been updated to v1.13. Like any game, Radioactive is in continual testing and a state of continual update, and this also applies to pre-release versions which are made available to beta-testers and to certain exclusive press outlets.

The new update checks display frequencies and gives users the possibility of explicit control over the game screen mode.

Radioactive is all set for its public release in 5 days: midnight on March 22 2019.

The perfect strategy game of nuclear war.

Radioactive Coming Soon

Radioactive, a turn-based strategy game of nuclear war, is due for release on March 22 2019.

Radioactive is based on a simple idea. You begin with a world map and a random scatter of missile silos (or submarines, or airbases, or other things to fire from). Players take it in turns to select any unit, set the direction and range to a target, and click fire. It's a variation on a classic genre of set-the-angle games.

More than merely turn based, Radioactive is set on a 3D map, and shots continue to move while other players take their turns, adding a real-time factor to the gameplay. Games can be customised to a massive extent too. You can choose you exact mix of units, which map to play on, as well as difficulty and game speed.
