Spacelords Lore 05: Schneider
The Last Barrier
There was a rumor going around the darkest reaches of the networks -those with reserved access for the elite of the elite, brilliant minds that competed night after night to obtain the juiciest information packages and break through the security of the servers of giant corporations, the bigger and richer the better. It was said that “something” had been discovered that came from beyond the stars, “something” that was not of our solar System, the existence of which could change the course of history.
It didn’t take Schneider long to find a trail to follow, and crumb after crumb, he broke and decrypted barriers that took him ever closer to the original source of information. Everything was a bed of roses for his nimble fingers, but soon he came up against an unexpected wall. A wince of concern came over his face as he discovered who the last data node belonged to: the Hades Division no less. Finally, a challenge worthy of his stature.
For the first time in a long time, faced with the challenge before him, Schneider dedicated himself 100% to the job of hacking. No longer did he think things like “piece of cake” or “take that, you bastards!”. Now, electrifying shivers ran down his spine, a feeling Schneider had never felt before.
Discovering a powerful alien power source called “Aleph” seemed like a pretty big deal, but now that he was on the Hades Division’s servers, why stop there? Packages of valuable information were copied frantically onto his highly encrypted storage discs. With this, now he could really live like a king for a decade, not to mention automatically becoming a legend.
It would have been the perfect hit had he not seen the security videos in the private quarters of the legendary, fearsome lieutenant Aneska. Schneider was left catatonic when he saw her naked in the videos, a woman with the most exceptional curves he’d ever seen before, and his adolescent mind could barely process it without crashing.
Those minutes were all the Division needed to trace and locate the intruder who, having forgotten his original objective, was now only interested in meeting that woman he’d fallen in love with.
Once again, Schneider was lost.

LETTER FROM SHAE TO HER PARENTS
Father, Mother; as much as you insist on denying reality, these are not times of peace.
Our land’s leaders are either gone or have surrendered to the invader forces. The few that still hold some voice and power among us, keep on saying that subjugation is our only option. And, while this happens, we are letting our own planet bleed to death at the hands of impious invaders from beyond the stars, who have stained our fields and people with smoke, bullets and desolation. I can not take this anymore.
I am writing you today in order to tell you I have chosen the path of the warrior. I am leaving to the lands of Shuuk-Neh, where master Nelidas has accepted to take me as his disciple.
I know this news will not please you, and that it will make the name of this unfaithful Custodia Prime be erased from the family memory. Do it without hesitation. My conscience is clear, knowing that my cause is just, and that little Mae will be able to fill the void caused by my absence. Nevertheless, I have to ask you for one last favor: Before forbidding her to pronounce my name ever again, I beg you to tell her that her elder sister will always love her, no matter what. I just pray that one day you will understand my decision.

Spacelords Lore 03: Harec
Harec does not at all approve of the character of their people. He hates war and violence, but he will not hesitate to use them against injustice and abuse, no matter where they come from. Deep down, he understands perfectly well that his own people are ultimately responsible for what is happening. But he also believes that his people deserve a second chance, maybe on another planet.
It is only a matter of time until one of the factions obtains the warp drive technology that will enable them to return to Earth. The faction that does so will abandon the others on the Broken Planet and will return with a bigger army, ready to conquer, exterminate and monopolize all of the Aleph. Harec can't let that happen. He wants all humans off his planet, unable to return ever again. To do that, Harec needs to hinder their plans as much as possible and find the warp drive technology before anyone else does. If Harec and his men also manage to eliminate the leaders of each faction, they may have a chance against the invaders.
Harec knows that he cannot challenge the invaders, with their far superior forces, head-on. He and his men will have to remain in the shadows, choose their targets very carefully and disappear as quickly as they can. The knowledge that Lycus, Alicia and Konstantin have of their respective factions will be crucial to hindering their plans, reaching their leaders and eliminating them.[[CR]]Harec knows that the humans who fight by his side do so for selfish reasons. He doesn't care too much about that, as long as the work gets done. He won't try to convince anyone, although he secretly harbors hope that, with time, some of them will join his fight.
