Railroad Corporation: Volatile Markets DLC OUT NOW!
Hello everyone!
The economy is a fickle thing -- one day it's up, and the next day it's down. Things were no different in the era of steam engines. That's why we're excited to introduce our new DLC to you: Volatile Markets.
There's also an update to go along with this DLC, so check out the changelog below as well!
An all-new challenge
A group of rich investors have funded the construction of various plants and factories around the region, and they need your help. You'll be responsible for providing them with crucial resources.
Your railroad corporation will be paid for each delivery you make. However, it is important to remember that it's a free market. Prices for raw materials and finished products are constantly fluctuating, so you will need to plan accordingly, and adapt on the fly.
Bring a partner along!
The Volatile Markets challenge can be played alone, or in co-operative mode. Invite your friend to help you out, as it's always better to have a trustworthy business partner.
Are you able to thrive in a constantly fluctuating market? Pick up the Volatile Markets DLC and find out!
And that's not all! We've added a small update to celebrate this all-new DLC -- check out the changelog below:
In co-op mode, players can now use each other's warehouses for unloading and loading cargo.
Exclusive achievements for the new challenge map.
Employee Patrick Irwin's locomotive upkeep discount is fixed.
In missions with Wool instead of Cotton, employees abilities now affect Wool, not Cotton.
Train movement behavior on slopes is fixed.
Localization fixes.
And as always, let us know what you think of the DLC, either on the Steam forums, or on Discord.
UPDATE: co-op mode and THREE NEW maps!
Hello everyone!
The holidays are coming up, and so here is our gift to you.
Co-op is here!
We've been cooking this up for a while now. Co-op is a separate multiplayer mode that puts you and your friend in challenging scenarios where you have no choice but to work together. Support each other in contract work, use each others' railroads, and unite to survive.
Features:
Work together on the same goals and tasks
Help each other out! When one player loses, the game is over
Contracts can be fulfilled by any player but reward will be received by the one who signed it
No fee charges when using other player’s railroads
Game can be paused during cooperative sessions
Communication during the session is possible via in-game chat
Special co-op scenarios achievements!
Special co-op maps
Of course, a new mode is best enjoyed in tailor-made maps. When you boot up co-op mode, you can choose between 3 brand new maps to play with your business partner.
Shipyard The city of Westerly has recently constructed a shipyard. Of course, a shipyard needs ships, and ships need wood. That's what you and your business partner are going to provide!
City prosperity Local authorities have issued licenses for rail transport! The condition, however, is that carriers improve development and prosperity in the region. You'll achieve this by providing railroad networks from town to town.
The Great Partnership And of course, there's a sandbox map with no set objectives! You and your partner can explore this large map to your heart's content.
Other changes
Not into co-op? That's okay! We have some other changes as well, like auto-trading rules that allow you to set up what commodities to buy, sell or move between your factories automatically. Check out the changes here.
Invite a friend and give the new mode a whirl. And of course, let us know what you think on Discord!
Three New Railroad Corporation DLCs - OUT NOW!
Hi all, yes that's right. Not one but three new DLCs are now available for Railroad Corporation. Each DLC introduces a new challenge:
Yellow Fever DLC
Yellow Fever is unique challenge based on an historic scenario - the yellow fever outbreak. It is 1853, and an uncontrollable outbreak of yellow fever has occurred in New Orleans. Inhabitants of several nearby cities are also getting infected, and there are serious fears that the disease will spread to more cities, if measures are not taken in time.
The situation is compounded by the fact that a railroad does not exist in the region, and it is very difficult to quickly deliver medicines to the cities. Build your own railroad network to swiftly supply medicines across the region, and help scientists to find a vaccine in time to save more people from getting infected.
The Yellow Fever DLC also contains additional five unique player portraits for multiplayer sessions.
Wonderful Forest DLC
In the FREE Wonderful Forest challenge, you are tasked to help Mr Robinson avoid bankruptcy by transporting his high-quality wood out of the forest and save his legacy.
Christmas Rush DLC
Last but not least, with the holiday season coming around the corner, we have also prepared a FREE Christmas Rush challenge where you will work with elves and help Santa deliver all the presents on time.

We're very excited to share the Signals & Workshop update with you today! In short, signalling directions for track segments and Steam Workshop integration have been added to the game. So, here's what's what, including a big ol' changelog like you're used to from us.
Signal track directions!
In every mode and mission, it is now possible to change the directions trains can go in, per segment of track. Just click the track icon with the traffic lights in the top right of the screen when playing any mission, map or scenario. Then, click on any segment of the track to change the allowed direction of trains on that section. Single, green arrows signal a one-way track, and blue double arrows signal a two-way track.
Create and share via the Editor and Steam Workshop integration
Railroad Corporation now has Steam Workshop integration! You can create and share new maps, scenarios and missions for both singleplayer and multiplayer from the editor in the main menu, and you can play community maps, scenarios and missions by subscribing to them from the Steam Workshop hub! Note that the editor has a 'beta' tag on it. That's because the editor might still contain some bugs. If you find any, please let us know in the bug reports section of the Steam forum.
That's not all, check out the full changelog below!
New features
Railroad directions and signals To optimize traffic, players are now able to set railroad directions for each segment. Railroad signal poles now reflect the railroad direction setting and prohibit or allow locomotive’s movement. Hold Alt-key to quickly edit directions.

Train locomotive replacement Now a locomotive replacement into a new one can be scheduled in the next train’s waypoint.
Different resource consumption rates for each city Cities can now have different consumption speed, so players may plan which commodity is in higher or lower demand in a certain city.
City population growth rate Population growth is affected by fulfilling resource demands in the city hall or local industries. The amount of population growth may differ for individual resources.
UI Top Panel notifications Quantity of completed research items is now highlighted with a notification mark in the top panel. A similar notification is shown for new contracts, new staffing availability and new laws.
Commodity selling to a city from your own factories It's now possible to prohibit your own production facilities from selling commodities to City Halls.
