In other news, we have recently been asked about the status of a SteamVR version of Rainbow Reactor: Fusion. We still have not given up on the Steam version, but the problem is that it would take a lot of work to improve the graphics of the mobile version to be more "PC worthy", and from our recent experiences with our latest VR game Snow Scout, we know that the game will probably not even make enough money to make these graphics updates worthwile. So what do you think about it - would you also like to play RR:Fusion with only slightly improved graphics, or would this be a no-go?

Celebrating Snow Scout With A Discount

We just released our new game SNOW SCOUT on SteamVR Early Access and to celebrate this, we're having a bunch of discounts - A 10% launch discount for Snow Scout and a whopping 80% discount for both Rainbow Reactor and its soundtrack. The latter now also contains all the new music for Rainbow Reactor: Fusion, the vastly expanded Meta Quest version of the game.
To tell you a bit about Snow Scout; it's an adventure game on skis that combines exploration, job simulation, adventure and communication with a virtual person in one game. We released it as an Early Access title, since it still needs quite a bit of polishing and bug-fixing, and this format has worked very well with Rainbow Reactor 3 years ago. Of course we know that Early Access is not everyones cup of tea, but if you'd like to get a glimpse into game development, it could be interesting. Also, we will reward your contributions by awarding keys to other dev's VR games, as well as your name in the end credits of Snow Scout, if you'd like to see it there.

Happy New Year … In A Double Sense!
Hey Everyone,
It's time to celebrate the Chinese New Year as well as Dottie's 3rd birthday. We released Rainbow Reactor in January 2019, and those years really flew by … We are happy that after a somewhat rocky start, the game blossomed and was quite well received … with many updates, we nurtured it from a defenceless cub to a proud tiger, who now seems to enjoy its golden years, as its gotten a lot more quiet around the game. This is in part due to the fact that the follow-up has been released for Oculus Meta Quest. Rainbow Reactor: Fusion adds a full blown adventure story to the tried-and-true chroma ball throwing. We still have the Steam version for it in the making, but the problem is that we just do not have any time to remodel all the graphics to PCVR specs, and we don't want to disappoint anyone with a simple "Quest port".
Currently, we are very busy getting our next game "Snow Scout" ready for launch. Same as Rainbow Reactor back then, it will begin with an Early Access phase here on Steam later in spring.
If you want some more extra Rainbow in your life, you could consider picking up the Original Soundtrack for the game, which now also contains the new music for Rainbow Reactor: Fusion. At the current price, it's quite the steal. But Dottie is still getting ready for her very own Chinese adventure, more information on that will come as soon as it's available.
But returning to the coming Year Of The Tiger, I personally am looking forward to it, as coincidencally, yours truly was also born in a tiger year. And everyone else is surely also looking forward to humming that old hit by Survivor for the next 12 months … so get to it people, and enjoy ːDottieHeartː

The Cursed Eve Of HallowAIn Cometh
Hello Everyone,
You are surely aware of the coming arrival of HallowAIn, a time where any artificial intelligence, be it Alexa, Cortana or Siri, is prone to be posessed … And you have probably noticed that our HoverBot Dottie has a bit of a "strong personality" herself - there seems to be a lot of depth to it. Deep in the bowels of her A.I. Core there is a hidden glitch, a split personality created from past trauma, that will only come to light during that special time of year. And then, Dottie will turn into her evil twin Pumpitty McDotkin – so beware and start the game on October 31st at your own risk!
Those among you who also have an Oculus Quest and have reached the "true ending" of Rainbow Reactor: Fusion will of course know a bit more about the traumatic events that slumber deep in Dottie's core. At the moment, we are still wondering how to proceed with the Steam port of that game. Improving the graphics for PCVR is a lot of work, and the current wishlist numbers do not give the impression that this work could pay off. Rainbow Reactor: Fusion is out on Quest => Free OST Upgrade

To celebrate the release of our new game Rainbow Reactor: Fusion on the Oculus Quest, we released a free upgrade to Rainbow Reactor's Original Sountrack. That way, this OST now contains the complete music from both games :D
As some of you may already know, Rainbow Reactor: Fusion is a port of the Steam version to Quest on the one hand, on the other though, it features a full blown story mode that has you fixing up the reactor building under Dottie's watchful eyes. So aside from the arcade gameplay you all know, there are now a bunch of other typical VR activities that will keep you occupied for 3-4 hours, depending on how much you want to know about the back story of Rainbow Reactor ;D
We are also planning to release the game on Steam, but since we are a small team, we had to push back the release date, as we do not want to release the Quest version on PC without any upgrades. That means it may take a while, so if you own a Quest or Quest 2, it would be awesome if you'd consider picking the game up from the Quest store.
For those who don't mind waiting, we are throwing in the free OST upgrade as a little sweetener.
We are super excited about the launch and of course we have to say that we would never have gotten to this point with all the help and support from the community! Needless to say, some of our top players and contributors have made it into the end credits of Rainbow Reactor: Fusion.

Rainbow Reactor now has Trading Cards :D

Being able to make this announcement makes me extremely happy ːDottieHeartː Probably, you already have an idea what I'm talking about from looking at this text ːDottieWinkː

And of course, with great trading card comes great responsibility - in the form of emoji, and now we can all finally have DottieMoji, a thing that everyone definitely needs in their life ːDottieJoyː
The reason why I'm really proud about this even goes a bit deeper, because in order to have Steam trading cards for a game, the game has to reach a certain size first, and this is not easy at all - after all, Rainbow Reactor needed almost two and a half years to grow so far. And before that point, actually, games don't even count into owners' game library and achievement count! This is something not everyone realizes, and since the VR segment on Steam is really quite small still, there is only a really low number of VR games who can offer trading cards ːDottieTiltː
So I hope all of you that have already played Rainbow Reactor are pleasantly surprised to have seen the notification show up that announced the arrival of your first trading cards for the game. And even if you don't care for trading cards or Rainbow Reactor: A really interesting thing is that trading cards for small indie games often are worth more than those of big games - so if you sell your cards, you should have the chance of making a couple extra cents into your Steam wallet ːDottieSmileː
Of course, the reason why Rainbow Reactor even grew big enough to have these trading cards and their associated community features is YOU! Rainbow Reactor: Fusion announced with first trailer :D
Hello Everyone,
Finally, we can show you what we worked on the last six months: A Rainbow Reactor spin-off with a full Story Mode! The new game will be called Rainbow Reactor: Fusion, a little play on words, as the gameplay is a fusion of the classic Match-3 formula with story-based exploration.
This time, you don't play a loader bot, but yourself! You have learned that some distant relative of yours is the eccentric Professor Alfred Luzian von Hoffenhasselbrock, inventor of Rainbow Energy, and he needs your help. Who cares if this is probably a case of mistaken identity - the Rainbow Reactor has fallen into a state of disrepair and apparently, no-one else is able to tolerate Dottie and carry out the much-needed repairs!
