We hope you're as excited about the next Ranch Simulator update as we are! We have some important news for you today.
This update is not only a substantial change to the way the game works, in terms of building facilities, but it's also by far our biggest update yet and we know you are going to love it. However, we need your help!
We have made an unstable version of the new building system available for testing today, and we need lots of you to give it a try. We know you will make exciting and unexpected new creations, and we need to make sure the game can handle it. So please jump into the Discord and head to the #announcements channel to find out more. Your help is really appreciated.
The release will be dependent on what bugs you may find, but with this level of change we are expecting the full public release to be delayed until 15 July (more details towards the bottom of this announcement).
Full Update Reveal - Build any Facility Anywhere, Hardware Store, Pig Breeding and More
As we're asking you wait a bit longer for the public release, we wanted to give you a proper look at the update itself. First off, please note that additional daily quests have not made it into this update as hoped, so we have removed it from the roadmap.
That's the bad news out of the way - we think you'll be very excited by the update nonetheless. It's a big one!
Build Anywhere
We previously revealed that you'll be able to build the likes of coops and fences wherever you like. We're happy to reveal that your ranch plot size has increased, and that you will be able to build everything wherever you like on the ranch.
You still have a number of pre-made houses you can select if you wish, but you can now build facilities freely including foundations, floor, walls, doors, stairs, roofs, coops, barn, fences, feeders and preserving bins for meat and cheese products.
You can now paint freebuild objects, coops and fences in whatever colors you choose! Head to the new hardware store to find a color machine.
More building freedom also means bigger barns if you so choose.
New Map
We've introduced a new map which is more optimised, delivering a smoother experience for some of you. You may also notice some visual upgrades.
Pig Breeding
We've added female pigs, who can mate with males in order to give birth to piglets. The piglets will also depend on their mother for food whilst they grow!
Hardware Store
A hardware store has been added. This is the place to visit in order to purchase your tools and building materials, like wood planks, concrete, metal rebars, lawnmowers, trailers, paint and more.
June Update Release Plan
Here's the timeline we're now looking at, subject to how unstable testing goes:
TODAY: Unstable Update v1
We have a very early version of the update available right now on the unstable branch. This will have bugs and if you are someone who would rather play a more polished version of the update, we recommend that you hold on for a bit.
30 June: Unstable Update v2
We plan to release a more polished version of the unstable on 30 June - this will have less bugs and will be a better gameplay experience, but there may still be some issues.
As soon as possible following 30 June:
We will then update the unstable build with localisation. Until this point, the unstable version will unfortunately be in English and Russian only.
15 July:
Public update release!
Please note: We recommend that you hold on until the public release of the update if you are expecting a more polished experience.

Save Wipe Warning
Please keep in mind that this update will wipe your saves. Due to changes made to the in-game building mechanics, existing saves will no longer be compatible. Your progress will be reset when you play the update, whether it's unstable or the public version. You can read more here.
And an extra note for those of you who do choose to play the unstable version: there's also a possibility that if we find a severe bug in the unstable build, then we may need to wipe saves again after it's been fixed.

Firstly though, we want to remind you that your save games will be wiped when you play the June update. This is an unfortunate side effect of the update adding the ability to build the likes of coops and fences wherever you like. APRIL UPDATE NOW LIVE | Meat & Dairy Production, New Houses, Trailers & More!

We have just released the April 2021 update for Ranch Simulator! This is the first content update, so we're very excited for you all to play it! We've added meat and dairy production (including a fast food restaurant which you can sell produce to), new houses, an animal stunner, two trailers, a cooler container for transporting meat & cheese products and more!
This update also includes lots of tweaks and bug fixes aimed at improving the overall experience. The general store's buy/sell zone is now outside the store, we've added an option to control the vehicles using the mouse, and more.
We've also been receiving lots of requests for more languages to be supported, and are happy to announce that this update also introduces Polish and Korean language support!
IMPORTANT: June update will reset your progress
The most requested feature has been the ability to build new facilities wherever you like. We listened, and are excited to announce that in the June update we will add the ability to build the likes of coops and fences anywhere. However, it is a big change and will result in old saves no longer working. Therefore you will lose all of your current progress.
New: - Moved save file ranchsave.sav to location AppData\Local\Ranch_Simulator\Saved\SaveGames. To access this location, you can do the following: * Press the windows key and R together to open the run command * type in %appdata%/../local/Ranch_Simulator and press ok - Added stunner for slaughtering. This is silent and won't alert nearby animals unless they see you use it, we recommend using it in a private place; - When you slaughter an animal with a firearm, you can scare other animals nearby; - Added fast food restaurant with daily specials, where you can sell any of the requested goods for a higher price; - Added a cooler container for transporting meat & cheese products (up to 12 spaces available); - 3 new houses are now available for construction. All houses have a functioning stove and a curing room for drying meat and ripening cheese. The more expensive the house, the more slots for meat and cheese in the curing room; - Working cooking stoves added to all houses; - Added a pan for boiling meat or making curd/cheese; - Added white and blue mold cultures for making moldy cheese; - Added manual and automatic grinder; - Added manual and automatic sausage stuffer; - Added the ability to produce beef, pork and chicken, as well as sausages, salami, meatballs and cheese. - Added two trailers: a small trailer and a car trailer. Important note: if you are going to transport vehicles in multiplayer, the player who loaded the vehicle onto the trailer must drive the vehicle pulling the trailer in order to avoid physics bugs; - Added the ability to sell goods from the trunk/trailer; - Added the ability to control the vehicles using the mouse (available as an additional option in the settings); - Added official soundtrack to the main menu; - Added button to hide the interface (F9); - Added the ability to destroy the cell/stall in the barn; - Added the ability to destroy the house and to build a new one; - Added the ability to play with more than 3 friends by adding the Game.Maxplayers=4 parameter to the Settings.ini file which can be found by doing the following: * Press the windows key + R on your keyboard to open the run console * Type in %appdata%/../Local/Ranch_Simulator/Saved/Config/WindowsNoEditor and press ok. We don't officially support this in our recommended specifications, so increase this amount at your own risk. If you experience lag or other multiplayer issues, all we can say is to reduce it back to 4.
Fixes and changes: - Сhanged the shape of the stall, pigs will no longer get stuck when that are well fattened; - Fixed ATV lights position; - Fixed tree twisting after chopping it down; - The general store has changed, another entrance has been added, the buy/sell zone is now outside, the landscape has been levelled and raised; - Fixed wheels shaking/bouncing on the ground; - Fixed a bug when eggs in the basket were not saved; - Fixed the sound of footsteps in third person when the sound was only in one channel; - Fixed a bug where a lot of cut trees and cut grass were not synced with the client player(s); - Fixed a bug where the well could break after loading a save; - Tuned vehicles parameters, tightened steering; - Balanced car prices; - Some textures, materials and geometry of objects have been optimized; - Removed post-process that made items darker on the ranch; - Removed a spot on the map where you could get stuck between stones; - Several places on the map have been visually updated. - There's a possible issue when loading a save from the previous version that areas where grass was mowed or trees chopped could reappear. These will need to be removed again manually. - The sales assistant at the general store sits correctly on her seat; - You can now load planks on the white pickup; - Fixed radio tower position; - Fixed error where players couldn't buy a car because a higher license was needed; - Fixed bug with items changing their size; - Added Polish and Korean translations; - Animal faeces now decompose after some time (this is a temporary solution until faeces will be needed for fertiliser); - Added VFX and sound to barn stall demolishing; - Additional optimisation has been implemented for a large number of animals; - Reduced the amount of food and water consumed by chickens;

April Update Teaser! Free Theme Music Out Now!

We hope you have all been enjoying playing Ranch Simulator! We have lots to come, and so today we wanted to share some sneak peeks on the April update! But first...
Ranch Simulator Theme Now Available to Download for Free
At some point soon we will be introducing some original music to the main menu.
While not in the game itself just yet, the country track (composed by Chris Randle) is now available to download for free!
A special note for streamers/YouTubers: We invite you to use this country track as background music in YouTube videos and Twitch streams. The track is copyright free, so there should be no demonetisation issues with the track.
April Update Teaser
We're hard at work on the first content update for Ranch Simulator, which is scheduled to release by the end of the month! As previously announced, we'll be adding a meat and dairy production system, providing another way to make money and expand your ranching operation.
Note: We previously announced that the April update would also see the addition of new quests - this will no longer be the case unfortunately - they've had to be pushed back.
As part of the meat and dairy production system we will be adding a new building - a fast food restaurant called “Best Burger”, where players can sell meat products, cheese, milk and eggs.
We'll also be making some quality of life adjustments in the April update. For example, we're adding a portable cooler container for convenient transportation of meat. We're also changing the store slightly, with the shopping cart section now moved to outside:
Due to this environmental change, please be aware that if you have any items near the store you will want to move them before the April update releases towards the end of the month. Any objects near the store, such as vehicles, logs/planks etc, which are not moved to a safe distance before the April update is installed will fall through the ground and be lost.
This update will also see the addition of a loading area opposite the car shop garage! This area should also be free of any items before you install the update when it releases towards the end of the month, or you risk losing them.
This is just a sneak peek into the April update. There are some further surprises that we have yet to talk about - so keep an eye out for the update when it releases later this month!

Small Update | Patch Notes | Version 0.341
Hello Ranchers! We have a small patch for you today, consisting mainly of optimisation improvements. If you have previously experienced any crashes or issues with loading, please try out the launch option for low-spec machines / DirectX version 11 (which isn't officially supported and may be unstable).
Contact us (on the Steam discussion forums/social media/email) if you are still experiencing any crashes/instability. We are still working on improvements and fixes.

UPDATE NOW LIVE | Hotfix Patch
Hello all,
We have now released a hotfix patch for Ranch Simulator!
This update includes lots of bug fixes and alterations, including fixes for save games not being able to be loaded, vehicles being shot into the air in multiplayer, issues with animals eating/drinking and much more. We have also added an option to disable the lightning storm, and increased the day length.

Hello all,
It's now almost a week since Ranch Simulator launched in Early Access! We have been blown away by the support, and it's great to see so many of you enjoying the game, sharing feedback and suggestions, and reporting bugs.
Thank you all so much for playing. Please keep reporting your bugs on the Steam forums and on the Discord, as the team are working their way through fixing them! Expect a hotfix patch within the next couple of weeks, when we will be able to share the details of which bugs are fixed!

April: Meat and Dairy Production
The first big update for Ranch Simulator will include a meat and dairy production system, which will provide another way to make money and expand your ranching operation.
