REAVER Demo Major Update 2023

Hello! It's been a year since the demo release and we've been working this whole time on Early Access version of the game, and prior to that we want to update demo version.
Join Discord server and tell us what you think about the game!

What's new:



  • Clockwork level (the last one) was changed heavily.
  • Actual weapon progression added. Find weapons through map and be able to manage your inventory in Arms Shops on every level.
  • Big Scourge doesn't clip through surfaces anymore.
  • Player doesn't randomly clip through surfaces anymore.
  • Enemy's health and weapon damage got reworked heavily.
  • Player movement is now more precise and faster.
  • Grenade of blue machine gun can now be shot with Red Revolver's ultimate.
  • Changed Turbo mode time multiplier from 1.33 to 1.25.
  • Added Turbo audio mode to increase pitch of music and sounds.
  • Added skybox to Purgatory level.


We highly recommend revisit demo again as it much smoother in terms of performance and much more balanced gameplay-wise!

Quick hotfix: More speed?

  • Cool scourge is less likely to fall in backrooms
  • Cool stepa now has less hitpoints (20% reduction)
  • Maximum strafing speed increased by 20%
  • Fixed bug where speedrunners tab couldn't be rebinded (Left CapsLock by default)

0.7.1 DEMO Update: Custom Music!


Ever wanted to have the reactive environment sync to meme music? Well now ya can!


(Just not very user-friendly, for now. Needs to be set up through console.)

REAVER UPDATE


FIXES



  • Fixed critical error where collision would stop working, for real this time.
    You should clip through the floor less now.
  • Hook has been improved!
    Should be less janky. Hook stuck bug should occur less now.
  • Fixed a teleport bug in machinery.
    Where falling off would send you to the wrong place.
  • Lighting in City broke from moving to new Unity version.
    Its nice and moody again.

BALANCE



  • Pulling out your second machinegun no longer overwrites the dagger on that hand.
    Using an ability shouldn't deny your consumable.
  • Hitboxes are made slightly larger.
    We noticed if you didn't go for headshots, body and limb shots are harder to hit than they should be. Nothing should feel different if you primarily aim for headshots.

QUALITY OF LIFE



  • More keys are now viable for rebinding.
    No one's gonna stop your wacky setups.
  • Console toggle key can now be rebinded.
    If you think about it, with a WASD setup, ~ is pretty close to your left hand.
  • New option to toggle main hand model. (the one that holds 1st gun)
    Floating guns look cool.
  • New option to mute game when window is unfocused.
    If you alt-tab often.



Custom Music!



    Experimental feature. Setup via console commands, for now.

    1. custom_music ███ ....................where "███" is your wav/mp3 audio file path.
    2. music_pitch # ....................affects pitch of your custom music
    3. funky_scale # ....................how hard you want funky mode to go
    4. cursed_mod # ....................value can be either 1 or 0, scales saturation with music pitch.

  • You can cycle through all of music anytime!
    Again, sorry about the not user friendly options lol

    1. Cycle music track hold leftAlt + left/right arrows
    2. Change music pitch hold leftAlt +up/down arrows

  • New FUNKY game modifier to compliment your custom music!
    Its best you discover what his does yourself, unless you have epilepsy.

  • Revolver fire rate fixed
    The Revolver fire rate was bugged last patch while we were experimenting with dual-wielding revolvers... oops.


BALANCE



  • DeepSix difficulty no longer randomizes enemies
    We recognize RNG isn't everyone's thing, enjoy being 2-shot though!
  • Nerfed Copter (the flying sniper enemy)
    He was stealing the show from the bossfight, while generally being a pain to fight.
  • Red shotgun rage ability duration buffed
    Just a biiit longer.
  • Red Rocket launcher buffed
    It is called "artillery" after all.
  • Red Machine gun spread buffed
    Better mid-range dps with headshots!


CONTENT



  • Added 3 optional modifiers to level selection:

    1. Modifier: Game speed +33% faster
    2. Modifier: Random enemies spawn type

QUALITY OF LIFE



  • Minor changes to player movement
    Changing direction is slightly faster now
  • Graphics settings (Low/Ultra/etc) are now in-game
    Previously only accessible in the Unity starting window.
  • Shotgun crosshair now can be alternated
    As some players prefer the small precision crosshair for hooks.
  • noclip & hide hud keys now can be rebinded
    You can use the B & V keys for other binds now!
  • Enemies now can be spawned with J and H
    Experiment with damage combos, or suggest better names for them!
  • Added viewmodel field of view
    No gun, big gun, noodle gun, have fun.
  • Added more combo info in inventory
    Functional but boring, for now!
