Chapter 3: DevLog#6
Hello Rebels!
I'm happy to announce that the store page for Chapter 3 has been approved by Valve, and it is now visible to the public. Feel free to check it out, and to put it to your wishlist. Here's the link: Rebels Chapter 3 Description will still change, especially the list of all the artists, and the number of CGs. I have put the release date to February and will do my utmost to keep it this way. I'm looking forward to it, and hope you are too. =)
As for the status: I'm pretty far already, there are just two scenes left. The problem is that these two scenes are a big chunk, and they consume a lot of time.
As always, here's what I have so far: Updated NEW asset count for this chapter: - BG: 12 - CG: 22 - Chara: 19 - Creature: 1 - Items: 6 - Maps: 3 - Music: 7 As so you can see, there are a lot of new assets, and I'm well on my way to surpass the number of CG's compared to last chapter.
Additionally, I let someone make an animated loop of one of my characters to see how well it goes, and whether it would even work with the engine. It took a lot of work from my end, but in the end, it functioned perfectly. I'm thinking about having all characters animated, but I'm not sure yet, because it is quite expensive with the number of characters that I have.
I have also made some investigation and made contact with people who could make Japanese voice acting for my VN. This is something I've always wanted. But I haven't decided on this either. Maybe I'll wait for the next Chapter.
Anyway, I'm happy with the progress in general, and I'm more and more pumped for the release.

Chapter 3: DevLog#5

I hope you are all in good health! I'm here to bring some update on the progress!
Things have been a bit slow in the past few weeks, but I'm trying my best to keep it up. Here is a rough indication of where I'm at: I have to admit, that I've been struggling a bit with the two encircled scenes. I hope I can progress more efficiently in the coming weeks.

There was mostly work done for CG's and for new characters. By the way, I just realized that there are currently 46 unique characters in the story. That's quite amazing!
I'm also happy to announce that I was able to do a quick-fix that activates the Steam overlay for both chapter 1 and 2, meaning that screenshots can now be taken. Although, it only works with windows for now. I'll have to find a solution for mac in the future. Special thanks to Elaine for pointing it out and testing it.
I'm curious to see if there will be new screenshots uploaded into the community section. =)

Hope everyone is doing fine in these times.
Things are going fairly well at the moment. Here is a rough indication of where I'm at: As you can see, the progress is steady. I hope I'm able to keep this up.

I'm happy to say that the number of assets is growing steadily as well.
At the beginning, I said that this is going to be a shorter chapter, and that I'm therefor not sure whether to merge Chapter 3 with Chapter 4 for more content. But now, being at this stage with a better overview of the amount of content already created and what's still to come, I'm pretty sure that Chapter 3 alone will be big enough to be a stand-alone.
Last time I mentioned that maybe I could make this year's release a reality. But seeing all the content that is still to come, and seeing that this year only has 4 months left, I'm not that sure anymore. But anyway, I will try my hardest to make us much progress as fast as possible.

Chapter 3: DevLog#3

I'm here to bring some update on the progress. Lately, things have gone pretty smooth, and I was able to progress fairly well.
Here is a rough indication of where I'm at: I've fully completed three groups of events, which were kinda big. Now I'm starting to work on the next one. I caught myself having more fun than usual with the progress, and it was fascinating to see how more and more content came into play, that were never part of the plan.

Not that much more assets than from the previous update, but there is still lots more to come.
One of the finished scenes had a big battle between two characters, and I'm currently still unsure how many, and what kind of CG's I should show there. Not sure how interesting such CG's are to the players, but having 1 or 2 in there should be the least to do, I think.
So, there you have it, folks. Hope you are happy with the progress, too. I'm not sure how realistic it is, but I'm a liiiiittle bit optimistic to have a release this year.

Quick update on the progress! I'm still working on the 2nd scene of the game, which is quite a big scene. It's about the Elven Village in the forest, the places within, some action, more lore and new characters. There will also be a major flashback scene about Tis-neva's past.

Having all these new BGs of the village is a huge milestone and enables me to do all the possible events in the village faster.

Chapter 3: DevLog#1
Hello Rebels!
I'm back with the first DevLog for the next Chapter! I hope you are all doing great and that you were happy with Chapter 2.
Here is a rough outline of what comes next: Here you can see the next events that will be told in the next Chapter. Although, there will be more events in-between that I haven't decided yet. According to my story, Chapter 3 is rather a short chapter. So, maybe I'll include Chapter 4 into the game, I'm not sure yet. It depends on how much more content I come up with for Chapter 3. If possible, I don't want to decrease the play-time compared to the previous chapters. Also, as indicated in the picture with a green check mark, the first couple of scenes are completely finished, and they already contain 5 CG pictures, which is a good start, I think. The red circle indicates what I'm working on at the moment.
The elven forest is going to be a bigger thing in Chapter 3, and I plan on giving the player more options for decisions. Maybe even the possibility to Game Over, but I'm not sure yet. Let's see how everything goes.

Achievements
Hello Rebels!
Hope everyone is doing okay in these tiring times.
There are now 17 easily obtainable achievements added to the game. Feel free to check them out! They have been tested with both windows and mac. I made them with the help of Greenworks, which is the only way it works with, as far as I know. I have some mixed feedback of whether a pop-up is displayed while unlocking an achievement or not on windows. Regardless, the achievement is obtained, even if there is no pop-up.
With this done, I can finally continue to work on Chapter 3. I will keep you updated with DevLogs, as I did before, and I will try to be more active on social medias.
If you encounter any problems or bugs, please let me know. Hope you all enjoy the story, and thank you for your patience.

Just a quick update, everyone!
I have received the revised text from my professional editor. The corrections have been implemented into the Visual Novel and are now live. With this, most of the errors I had before should be gone.
Now that this is done, I can concentrate on adding achievements.

State of the Game

Feel free to check it out. As I have announced already: For the proofreading, only a third of the game has been done and edited to date. The rest is yet to come, hopefully on Friday. I will update the corrections immediately when I receive them.
Until then, please don't be too harsh with the criticism if you find grammatical errors.
Also, for anyone interested, tomorrow I will upload the bundle that includes both of the chapters for a discount.
