Reclaim the Sea

Room damage update

Since the first versions of the game I always felt that the Reclaim the Sea was missing ways of disturbing your enemy, and also in return things that could mess with your plan in a combat. Many feedbacks from the demo have confirmed this. There were already several mechanics like fire or holes, or the fight for the distance between ships. And they have been rebalanced many times since the first version, but now I have added a direct way of denying the enemy the use of one its room: to damage it!

Rooms now have health points and take damage when taking hits, thus reducing their efficiency or completely shutting them down on low HP. All existing weapons have been updated to offer some room damage, some more than others. This new mechanic also opens new fight strategies and new weapons possibilities.

And speaking of weapons, the Thunder mortar is the first weapon specially designed to damage enemy ship rooms. In a few shots it will shut them down, but in return it does not inflict any damage to the ship hull.

Automaton update is live

How to handle all the tasks on your ship without hiring many crew members (and feeding them) ?

The answer is technology of course!

With the new automatons center, you can let automatons take care of all the little tasks on the ship, like loading weapons, piloting, repairing, etc.

They are not as efficient as living crew members and don’t gain experience, but with some investment in upgrades, they can almost catch up rookie crew members. And they still don’t use any food, thus nice savings in sight!

The automaton update is now complete, and also includes a new ship : the automaton ship, and a new weapon : the falconet, a fast firing light cannon.
