Demo Update

The Recollection demo has just been updated to version 0.8.589, bringing it more in line with the upcoming release by adding many improvements and bug fixes.

Highlights of this update include:
- a refined mechanic for the fragile mountain interaction
- new music for fragile mode
- a reworked menu, including many new settings, especially for texts and visuals, but also a difficulty setting for fragile mode
- ingame tutorials, updated fonts, reworked credits, and much more!

I'm very excited to release the full version of the game in April '23! Until then, I'll do my best to smooth out some remaining rough edges, fix as many bugs as humanly possible and add support for more languages.

Cheers,
Erkberg

New cover artwork!

Recollection just got a brand-new, hand-drawn cover artwork!

This beautiful piece has kindly been provided by my talented friend Veronika Fleischer aka Fronke Feronke and I'm beyond grateful for her help!
Check out her Instagram for more artsy goodness here.

In the meantime, the production of Recollection has advanced much further. The game is almost content complete and the planned release month is now April '23.

Cheers,
Erkberg

  • added a sound while finding an object
  • the help line for finding objects now appears a bit faster and the moon is a bit more visible to help at the start of a new game

Along with this comes the announcement that the release of the full version has been postponed to early 2023. I want to make this game as enjoyable, polished and awesome as possible, and it just needs a little more time to get there :)

Hope you enjoy this update!

Bugfixes and improvements for the demo

The Recollection demo has just received a small update containing several bugfixes and improvements.
Here's the full changelog:
- added a little help line that appears after some time and points towards objects, to help when objects are not found
- fixed a bug that could result in fragile mode glitches becoming faster and crashing the game
- adjusted continue and new game menu header texts to make them more clear
- fixed a bug that highlighted neighbor stars that are already connected and make highlights appear a bit more often
- when using a gamepad, the slow cursor tutorial is now shown at the start of every interaction
- fixed an audio bug for the moon in fragile mode and decreased moon vibration (it was a bit much)

Hope you enjoy these little improvements!

Erkberg

Big demo update!

A big update to the Recollection demo has just been released.
Most prominently, you can now try out the second game mode ("fragile" mode), after having finished the demo in "natural" mode. (keep going at the end to unlock it)
Also, the game now saves your progress in both modes and lets you continue or start a new game.
I hope you enjoy the new content :)

Here's a little playthrough video for both modes:

UI update for the demo!

The whole user interface of Recollection got a shiny update!
It is now much cleaner, easier to read, and you can see the game in the back!
The credits now list all tools I use for development, if you're curious.
The player characters eyes watch closely what you're adjusting. :)
But my favorite is the animated cursor, so lively!

Recollection Demo for Steam Next Fest

Recollection is part of the Steam Next Fest!
That means there is now a free demo available for you to try out.
It has a playtime of around 5-10 minutes and contains three out of the 11+ objects from the full version for you to discover and experience, as well as a (quite subtle) sneak peek for the second game mode.

I hope you enjoy playing as much as I do creating it. :)
Let me know how you like it in the comments, on the Steam forums and on social media. And thank you so much for trying out my little indie game, it really means a lot to me!

Cheers,
Erkberg
