Progress has been much slower than hoped, but it hasn't stopped completely, and pretty much all of it has been on the game's map, rather than new features. Since there's been a long time with no updates, I've decided to make the current version of the map available!
Keep in mind that this is still a work in progress version of the final map. As such, it currently contains many empty rooms, dead ends, portals that lead nowhere, petals that cannot be collected, and so on. In the future, much more will be added, changed, or removed from the map.
Free Demo
With the WIP final map being made available, the previous, smaller map will soon be added in a free demo version of the game.
November Update
Petals
Added petals for the player to find! Petals are an optional collectible that the player may find all around the map, some in plain sight, and some in hard to reach places. They have the appearence of a rotating triangle, will float in place until touched by the player, and will follow them afterwards. If the player dies before saving their progress, any petals following them will go back to their original positions.
In the future, something might happen if the player manages to gather all petals before finishing the game...
Entities
Also added entities! They are circles like the player, and can move around the same way the player does, but can be of different colors.
Just like with walls, what happens when entities collide with each other or with the player depends on their color. Some will be obstacles to be avoided, while others might be useful to reach new areas, collect petals, or avoid danger.
Misc.
Added Vignette effect, which may be disabled in the Video tab in the Settings menu.
Small updates to the map and the ending screen.
August Update
Key Bindings
Added the Key Binds tab to the Settings menu, in which you may reconfigure which keyboard keys are mapped to which in-game actions.
Controller Support
It should (hopefully) now be possible to play the game using a controller (such as the Xbox controller).
If multiple controllers are connected at the same time, only the first one the game recognizes will be used. To change controllers, disconnect the one currently being used, then connect a new one.
Misc.
Added option to enable or disable moving with mouse clicks in the Gameplay tab of the Settings menu.
The flash when hitting a colored wall no longer reveals walls the player has no direct vision of.
A few small quality of life changes were made to the map.
