Redout 2 1.3.1 - Patch Notes

Well, we finally have some good news to share. We acquired back rights for Redout 2 and while we are eternally grateful to Saber Interactive for all the work done together, we couldn’t wait to get it back and restart some work on it.

As a thank you gift for all the patience and for having played Redout 2 since the beginning, we are shipping free content with this patch and a bunch of QoL fixes!

NEW ENVIRONMENT: V.E.R.T.E.X. V1.31585598240

  • Three new tracks have been added to the V.E.R.T.E.X. environment, all playable in Arcade and Multiplayer. To some of you they might feel very familiar, let us know what you think!

LEADERBOARD RESET

  • Due to changes in tracks’ boundaries and ships’ behavior during development, with this patch we are cleaning up all times submitted to the Time Attack leaderboards, as well as players’ local best results.

GENERAL

  • Fixed rare crash on confirming rewind and on opening pause menu. Please stop trying to break it now.
  • Fixed an issue with players getting stuck upon entering the group menu from the loadout inspection screen. Same as above.
  • Fixed an issue with players getting stuck in Training mode when trying to start a training session and enter the garage at the same time. Bilocation is not supported in this universe, sorry.
  • Fixed garage flow break upon attempting to change the ship's aesthetics while spectating it. It’s rude, at least close your eyes!
  • Spreaded some soil on Mars Memorial. No more digging your ship into the ground and spinning like a beyblade there!
  • Removed a barrier protecting the rock on the split path jump of Tropical Twister Forward. The rock is adult now, it can handle destroying ships itself!
  • Located scrap collectors who occasionally stole loose track pieces from some Boss tracks. We made sure that this won’t happen anymore.
  • Fixed ships having too high top speed after using a quick restart from underwater and at the beginning of every event on the Origin Black Hole tracks.
  • Fixed multiplayer lap times being saved as local Time Attack records.
  • Adjusted power levels and unlocking conditions for some trials.
  • Added an option to toggle Motion Blur (applied while boosting).
  • Fixed various minor translation mistakes in different languages.
  • Removed unused items from the game menu.
  • Trees no longer appear on track in the distance on Mars tracks

GAMEPLAY

  • Hired more laser snipers for patrolling pilots attempting to gain an unfair advantage by leaving the track. As a result, over 210 unwanted shortcuts have been removed from the game.
  • Reintroduced a small damage threshold before disrupting health regeneration and its cooldown.
  • Fixed turbo pads sometimes not activating at high speeds and low FPS.
  • Fixed an issue with the ship not receiving a landing boost if the previous landing was performed within the last 2 seconds.
  • Fixed an issue with the ship rarely not receiving landing boost on good and perfect landings.
  • Fixed an issue with ships rarely taking damage on good and perfect landings.
  • Fixed an issue with ships sometimes slowing down too much on all landings.
  • Fixed an issue with ships sometimes detaching immediately after landing.
  • Fixed an issue with ships falling through the track while landing near its edges.
  • Unified shapes and rotation of all ships’ floor collision boxes.
  • Added visible countdown timer to race’s end in multiplayer races.
  • Extended time to finish the multiplayer race to 30 seconds.
  • Shortened time for the lobby host to select the next track. However, now opening the track selection screen freezes the countdown.

CAREER

  • "Elements of Storms" event now correctly rewards the players with the “Autumn” color scheme. We moved the “Summer” color to the Winter League to counter climate change.
  • Set correct platinum medal score requirement for “Sakura Rush” campaign event.
  • Adjusted trophy difficulty for the “Paradise Island” event and the first one of “Conqueror Strong Ship Tournament”.
  • Career trophy's progress is now visible in pause menu

ACHIEVEMENTS

  • Fixed “Redout Grandmaster” requiring the player to complete DLC campaigns.
  • Fixed “Fashion Racer” requiring the player to also unlock aesthetics from Caribbean Dam DLC.

AUDIO

  • Added “Racer’s Home” environmental variations also to non-tournament campaign garages.
  • The .mp3 version of “Desolation Ring” in the OST is no longer “Sledge” track.

About Leaderboards

We’ve discovered an issue preventing the correct upload of entries to the Leaderboards and metadata in Arcade mode. This caused several visualization errors in both Loadouts and Power Levels.

This should be resolved in today's Hotfix 1.0.6 while we work on a bigger patch for version 1.1.0!

General

  • Fixes to correctly upload time records on the Leaderboards in Arcade Mode. Keep in mind that Time Records obtained while playing in Career Mode are not uploaded to the Leaderboards due to the Power Level differences between events on the same track.
  • Fixes to upload the correct Leaderboards metadata (Loadout, Power levels, etc.)

About Difficulty

Redout 2 is not meant to be an easy game. The skill ceiling is high by design and we want players to feel challenged. At the same time, we also have a series of Auto Calibration systems so casual players can enjoy the game as well.

With that said, Redout 2 launched with a steeper level of difficulty than we had intended and below in patch 1.0.4 are some changes to help make that better.

Tutorial

  • Boosting thresholds have been adjusted for Silver and Bronze in the Rookie Academy.

General

  • Various tweaks have been made depending on the level of difficulty for each player. This does not affect Master or Nightmare difficulty.
  • Fixed the Auto Calibration Threshold difficulty assigned for each player depending on their race results.

Redout 2 is out now!

Hey fellow pilots!

The fastest anti-gravity racing game in the universe is now available on Steam!

Reach impossible speeds in exhilarating futuristic races across an extensive single-player campaign and competitive multiplayer. Deep control systems, robust hovership customization and a killer soundtrack make Redout 2 the premier anti-gravity racer.

Redout 2 will now launch on June 16th

We know you have been eagerly awaiting the release of Redout 2 later this month, but unfortunately, the fastest racer in the universe needs just a little more development time before it’s ready to go and will now launch on June 16 on PC, PS5|4, XSX|X1 & Switch.

This will help ensure we’re firing on all cylinders out of the gate and delivering the best gameplay experience for everyone. We apologize for the inconvenience and look forward to racing with you all soon!
