I'm excited to announce that a new update for Regain Earth: First Strike is now live on Steam!
Sorry for the long time waiting for the update!
I want to express my gratitude to you all for your continued support and feedback, which helps me make the game even better. Here are the changes and improvements you can expect:

Updates & bug fixes



  • General: Hit markers now accompanied by satisfying hit sounds
  • Weapon Balancing: Weapon recoil algorithm updated to reduce camera shake, providing a smoother shooting experience.
  • Weapon Balancing: Bolt weapons and rocket launchers now fire faster projectiles, making it easier to hit moving targets.
  • General: Bullet holes now visible from greater distances and quality settings affect their appearance, making the game world feel more dynamic.
  • Balancing: Grenade drop rates have been increased to provide more strategic options in combat.

  • Weapons: 3 new weapon skins for Turtle, Red Rabbit and Green Hell
  • Enemies: Updated helmet skins for Lizzy and Big Boy
  • Fixed: No graphic errors when Particle or smoke with sky in background
  • Fixed: No too early "few enemies left" message
  • UI/Menu: FOV (field of view) settings have no effect on view in menu anymore
  • UI/Menu: New default settings for arrow-key (keyboard) players

HUD optimized, helmet for Lizzy, key bindings improved, window modes improved

Hello dear Regain Earth Early Access pioneers & community, a new update for Regain Earth is live!



Updates & bug fixes



  • UI/Menu: Optimized HUD, new designed scifi boxes.
  • Fixed: You can now assign all keyboard buttons, including umlauts, mouse wheel and special keys. There are no more hardcoded keys (except ESC). You can now set all gamepad buttons separately from keyboard and configure 2 buttons for keyboard.
  • Enemies: Lizzy now wears a helmet if he doesn't fall by single headshot anymore (wave 6 or difficulty Hardcore)
  • Opponents: Lizzy improvement of hitboxes
  • Balancing: Enemy scanner now recharges 10% faster
  • Balancing: Enemies spawn now a bit faster one after the other
  • UI/Menu: Hud made a bit more transparent.
  • Fixed: Borderless Window Mode and Window Mode no longer jump back on map start and menu load. The display config is now loaded once when loading the menu and remains constant until you change the display settings.
  • Fixed: Grenade selection is now also possible with keyboard and gamepad.
  • Fixed: "Few enemies left" message no longer triggers at round start.

Game size reduced from 6.5G to 1.2GB, character teleports, new robot advisor

Hello dear Regain Earth Early Access pioneers & community, a new update for Regain Earth is live!



Updates & bug fixes



  • Game Disk Space: Very large reduction of disk space used by the game down from 6.5 GB to 1.2 GB!
  • Match start: opponents now teleport into the map, this can also be around the player. Player teleports into the map. Larger enemy spawn radius.
  • Match start: Added robot advisor that gives info about enemy waves.
  • Opponents: Lizzy got a second visual update (model, texture, thanks to Alex).
  • Enemies: Bigboy now wears a helmet on high difficulty. (thanks to Alex)
  • FX: Optimized effects and sounds when Scary teleports.
  • FX: New sounds when dissolving objects and for plasma shotgun.
  • Weapons: Increased range and speed for player rocket turret.
  • UI/Menu: New Quality Settings to save performance, you can select that fallen opponents dissolve and do not remain in the map.
  • UI/Menu: Fixed lobby and grenade loadout for certain resolutions.
  • UI/Menu: Grenade loadout now adjustable with keyboard, gamepad.
  • Fixed: Calculation of kills per weapon corrected.
  • Fixed: Wrong particle effects when players shoot at each other.
  • Fixed: Revive sign only appears if a player is alive and can revive another player.

Update: Enemy texture and redesigned end-of-match screen

Hello dear Regain Earth Early Access pioneers & community, a new update for Regain Earth is live!



Updates & bug fixes



  • Enemy "Lizzy" got a visual update (model, texture, thanks 2 Alex).
  • Match end leaderboard: Now it is visible for all players in the match, what rank and highscore they have before and after the finished match. A new highscore of the player is now better visualized.
  • Lobby: The chat history is now also shown to players who join the lobby later. So you can also leave messages for players joining later if you are away for a short time.
  • Menu: Improved navigation with keyboard and gamepad in the menu. Character rotation in the skin menu also with gamepad.
  • Bugfix: The metal target in Map Hangar makes strange movements.

Update: Explosive and destructible infrastructure

Hello dear Regain Earth Early Access pioneers & community, a new update for Regain Earth is live!



Updates & bug fixes



  • Containers marked as explosive can now be blown up with missiles (player & AI).
  • Missiles can also destroy trees.
  • Hangar and Factory maps have been slightly reworked, also to make boss fights more exciting.
  • Reworked Mech AI pathfinding, better positioning.
  • Bugfix: Shooting AI sometimes reacts very late.
  • Unreal Engine Update.

New team score display, Ai reacts to explosions, bugfixes

Dar Regain Earth players, testers, fans, community & Early Access pioneers,

today a small REFS update:
- AI improvement: AI now reacts to explosions (rockets, grenades, gas cylinder).
- Score improvement: Each player now sees the same team score, which is also entered in the leaderboard at the end of the match.
- Bugfix: Game host does not see client dancing at end of round.
- Bugfix: Player is not shown full health in HUD at round start.

Major changes



  • New HUD with new features like showing grenade effects, turret health and much more.
  • Unlockable Character Skins
  • Unlockable Grenade Loadout
  • Hints in Loading-Screen to teach you some new knowledge about the game mechanics.


Small changes



  • Double-team Shockwave Ability
  • Steam Achievements reworked and implemented Achievements which were not game ready before
  • More Steam Stats and more Achievements. And now with viewable steam achievements progress in Steam Achievements Overlay
  • Character Skins are customizable now, you can switch skins for character parts like armor and also switch on/off parts like grenade belt
  • Higher grenade drop chance
  • Higher rocket range
  • Translation Updates (Polish ready, Spanish will follow soon)



What's in next months?


In 2022, I would like to implement the following features:

  • two more monsters for wave 4 and 5
  • infinity waves game mode, maybe even a custom game mode
  • a third map
  • grenade/skill to pull monsters to your side (perhaps control mechs)
  • turret variations
  • optional: round start and, round end without text, better use of more animation/sequences
  • optional: small Easter Eggs
