Rekindling

Weekly update 0.26. Freezer burn.

This weeks update has some chilling updates as well as some fire ones. Literally fire.

Two more new items again are added this week with the Freezer (seen chilling a room below) and the Mixer.


You will need the freezer now as food will spoil faster when it is in the heat and slower when in the cold.

We also added a health bar below damaged objects so you can better see what needs to be get fixed and how far someone is on breaking something.

Weekly update 0.25 Some new objects.

Smaller update than usual this week. The ground work is being laid for so cool stuff that you will LEARN about very soon. Some cool new things and fixes made it in though.

Incinerator and Miner

  • Added Gun sound effects
  • Added Ax tool for chopping wood objects. This also will change the sound.
  • Added Incierator (turns rot-> power)
  • Added Miner (can be manned to produce stone)
  • Added Refuel and repair jobs to the job menu
  • Changed Fire speed of the SMG and pistol. They are a lot slower
  • Changed Damage on both guns as well they deal more damage
  • Fixed Survivors sitting around trying to find jobs for over a second
  • Fixed Survivors not waking up when someone breaks their bed
  • Fixed Survivors trying to repair crops as they are being harvested
  • Fixed old saves not allowing people to refuel items
  • Fixed people putting the incorrect amount of items to refuel
  • Fixed people should more accurately craft the amount that was requested (there will still be some excess it just won't be as extreme)
  • Removed Treadmill until more power things are added

Weekly update 0.23 is out! Yeet that Wheat.

Hey guys this weeks update is out! and boy is it a big one.
The leaderboards will have to be reset as we fixed a major bug with the day/night cycle that makes the current entries invalid.

Thanks for helping us have a great launch last week we took a lot of your ideas and they made it into this update! Please keep the ideas coming. Anyways lets get to what is in the update....

0.22 Update is out!

Lots of polish and cleanup in this week's update to get us more ready for release into early access on Monday!

Beta 0.22



  • Added Scraps, They are dropped by Zims and are used to craft metal plates
  • Changed the amount you can zoom in/out.. You can zoom a lot more now
  • Changed moving the camera is now dependent on your zoom amount
  • Changed Zim spawn rates to increase as more days go by
  • Changed how survivors react to being attacked. They should be more responsive to dying
  • Changed Zims will not drop rotten meat when killed by the daylight
  • Changed link to be clickable on early access menu
  • Changed a bunch of the crafting numbers and drop rates of the base items(wood, stone, ore)
  • Fixed People wanting to share beds and toilets
  • Fixed world settings such as auto pickup and hide staying between games
  • Fixed tons of crafting related bugs. People should be way better about crafting things.
  • Fixed world objects being wonky after saves such as not being able to toggle on states

0.21 Update is out for Beta Testers!

As Rekindling has been getting weekly updates for quite some time we are going to start posting the patch notes here as well. We are very excited to have all of you start playing in a week.

Beta 0.21


Saves will work from previous updates unlike last update! There is a bunch of balance changes in this one..

  • Added SMGS
  • Added Bats
  • Added Ammo
  • Added Early access splash screen on game load
  • Changed the max amount of an item you can have queued to craft form 99 -> 999
  • People now will pickup equipment and weapons if they see better ones that they want to use
  • Barricades can now be dragged and placed like walls.
  • Zims will now take damage if they are alive in the sun
  • You can no longer stack more than one dead person in a square at a time
  • Decreased the rate at which people get sick
  • Survivors can now contract ZTD & Dysentery
  • Q will now unpause the game if the game is paused and change the speed like it does when the game is not paused
  • Pressing the K key will no longer kill people
  • Pressing the F key will no longer light things on fire
  • Reduced the size of the nameplates below survivors
  • Decreased the rate at which new survivors join
  • Fixed some bugs with loading multi part objects
  • Fixed getting put back into a loaded game when clicking quit from a loaded game
  • Fixed growth states on farm zones and zone presets not saving properly
  • Fixed Dead people not saving properly
  • Fixed crash when going to the stats page when Steam is not open
  • Fixed lag caused by the autopickup button
  • Fixed a lot of bugs with the daynight cycle getting out of wack from rain happing at dawn/dusk and loading/saving at weird points

Rekindling on Steam!

It has been a long road but Rekindling is finally coming to steam early access!
To catch you guys up we have been working on Rekindling for around 4 years now and recently went into a closed beta earlier this year in January.

We felt the game was at a spot where we could use more eyes on it so we are bring it to Steam. We have been doing weekly content updates with feedback and bug fixes from the beta group since then. We plan to continue doing weekly updates every Sunday/Monday for the foreseeable future.

I'm very excited to hear everyone's feedback and input on the game. Together we can make this a very fun game. Feel free to post questions here on Steam or check us out on our official Discord channel. We don't bite I promise!
