Reptiles: In Hunt runs on the popular game engine - Unity. we are able to get excellent graphics and performance thanks to the techniques used in AAA games.
Environment
The game offers rich and detailed vegetation. This effect is achieved, by using GPU instanced grass. This means that we are able to render a large amount of grass without losing the game's performance. Custom grass and trees shaders add a translucency effect to the leaves and grass.
Another technique to add more detail is 3d sprites - impostors. This technique is used for large objects like rocks in the far distance. Impostors are 2-dimensional sprites, which look like 3d models. They maintain perspective and react to light. Thanks to this technique we can generate very dense and detailed far plans with many plants in the game.
Physics
Another interesting technique taken from AAA games is an active ragdoll. Thanks to this technique we can mix death animation with physics. A common problem of using death animation itself is the collision with a random wall. Such a model can penetrate it. Pure ragdoll may be unrealistic or may cause to fire model into space when in contact with a wall.
Animations
In the production of Reptiles: In Hunt, we use many external tools to support our work. One of these tools is UMotion, which allows us to create advanced animations directly in the game engine. This increases our effectiveness in working with animations.

How the Reptilians destroyed our civilization - Dev-Blog Update.
Ancient times
When the Earth was ruled by dinosaurs and the human species did not yet exist, the Reptilians visited our planet. It was an alien civilization that created life on this planet. They treated our planet like a safari, a big larder with food for their people. Dinosaur meat was their treat. They came to our planet on a great hunt and flew away. When a huge meteorite hit our planet and the dinosaurs slowly died out, our planet was no longer interesting to the Reptilians.
First contact
Millions of years later, their planet met the same fate. The Reptilian civilization was almost completely destroyed by a huge meteorite, and a few Reptilians escaped to another planet that allowed them to live. That planet was Earth. The Reptilians were very surprised that on our planet, intelligent beings evolved, and their civilization was exceptionally strong. The aliens, fearing death at the hands of humans, blended into the crowd. Thanks to advanced technology they were able to deceive human senses and were unrecognizable. They lived quite simply among humans, but their goal was to take control of humans and ultimately be the dominant species. Unfortunately, the Earth's climate made the Reptilians completely infertile. The only possibility was to transform a human child into a Reptiliana with a genetic change. They could have done this, but the disappearing children were a source of concern, and this could lead to the discovery of the secret about the Reptilians who were hiding among them. They chose to manipulate people to destroy them and take control of Earth.
Great war with Reptilians
For centuries, the Reptilians have slowly taken over power in key state positions. When, in the end, despite their small population, they possessed a power that could destroy humanity, they attacked. The nuclear bombs were fired to kill as many people as possible without completely destroying the planet. The Reptilians, thanks to their innate resistance to radiation, were finally able to rule the Earth, and the human survivors were forced to hide in the sewers.
Brave New World
100 years after the annihilation, their technology surpassed that of humans, and their only problem was still fertility. They also recreated the extinct dinosaurs, which quickly spread throughout the planet. The apocalypse caused an increased greenhouse effect, resulting in increased vegetation and a more tropical climate. When the radiation stopped being dangerous to people, they went to the surface and started to build villages and small settlements. The Reptilians still can't deal with fertility. They're still hunting young people turning them into Reptilians and murdering adult people.

Not only machetes - Dev-Blog Update
In our game you can make several types of weapons, bows and blowpipes. All mele combat weapons differ in their statistics and appearance.
In the screenshot we see a sword that is made of two different blade parts and a Trex tooth on the handle. It offers nice damage. Thanks to its teeth on the blade we can sit on a large dinosaur much longer to give more deadly stabs.

Interior ruins - Dev-Blog Update
You can find some ruined interiors in our game. Today we want to show you some metro interior you can find.
While exploring the world we can find some ruins of the old world. Some of them were perfect shelter for people that were hunted by Reptilians. Sewers and metro was their home for many years. This is a place where we can find the most valuable loot. In time, dinosaurs entered the tunnels. It was a trap for hundreds of people. Whan reptilians left this land people left the underground and built safer villages. Old shelters were abandoned.

Exploring the world - Dev-Blog Update
To enhance the credibility of the world, we've created a variety of locations for the game. The game is set in a half-open world and we tried to create beautiful and reliable places. The world was destroyed almost immediately by an alien race that pretends to be one of us. The Reptilians, who have taken all key positions, lunched rockets at all the world's major cities, pushing people underground. Hundred years later nature took its place.
Some of the game locations are pure nature with almost no sign of human architecture. Some were not fully destroyed. People who came out of the underground were avoiding these areas. Ancient ruins were abandoned and magical for humans that forgot old technologies and culture. It was also very dangerous. It was a favorite shelter for predators like velociraptors. Only seasoned hunters and gatherers venture into these areas.
All our locations were designed very carefully to get proper mood and lighting. Nature locations are filled with dinosaurs, pteranodons, birds, and cranes. The dense forest can also hide the mysteries of the past.
