After finally making up the debts of the project Retaliation is now FREE TO PLAY.
for those of you who have previously purchased the game, you have exclusive access to the trading cards, backgrounds and emoticons as a thank you for supporting the project and helping to realize a life long dream of a young developer.
My next project is coming soon and I hope fans of Retaliation will support me in this new venture. Details are still being kept hidden but I can say that it will be a informal approach to a very formal subject that most people struggle with in their day to day lives.
Thank you and please enjoy playing RETALIATION

Another PC update (Mac will follow soon)
the new build has changed a few things.....
* New loading screens
* Removed object glow
* Removed and re imported streetlights in a attempt to improve frame rate and lighting effects.
* added map automatically to player inventory
Hopefully this will help improve the player experience, the next big thing to fix will be the character he need to be.
* more forgiving on obstacles (will be corrected by adding invisible wedges to the pavements and stairs, as well as some changing of the character code)
* move faster, to prevent player frustration the character will have a better form of acceleration and can jump higher.
* player sounds need correcting, by using shorter sounds less trailing will occur, also by muffling the sound it wont be such a distraction.
Fixing the character and getting the Mac build up to date are the next jobs but after that I will look into more UI and potentially achievements and trading cards.
Thank you all for your continued support.
Current PC Build
HI guys still bug fixing, Hopefully Retaliation will be more polished by this weekend, I am having difficulty managing work and game development right now. I am aware that in some cases the ending isn't initializing properly and it the first thing I plan to fix. Thank you for baring with me hopefully the next update will bring happier news
First PC Update (long time coming)
Things changed in this evenings build
* Lighting Baked and reapplied (the Police station puzzle should now function better)
* Continue button now glows on hover (not as much as others needs investigating)
* Textures of food boxes and magazines changed for legal reasons (further updates imminent)
* .exe name changed
* Glow effects and textures directly effecting the FPS have been optimised and reapplied.
* school fixed
Work for the next build.
* update the credits with the names of all the users who have assisted in our testing process
* edit the sound scripts to prevent trailing sounds and echoes
* fix the reappearance of the shadowy figure in the town hall.
* switch off character shadow, both to prevent noticeable arm detachment and to improve fps further.
Progress Still being made.
Hi guys,
the 'test' beta has been moved to the main build so it should correctly download for PC users now, it is missing the baked lighting a few snippets of code compared to the Mac build. Updates are being made on the game by me and my partner so that we can improve the Retaliation experience for you.
Fixed PC Build (kinda)
Hi Guys
Thank you for waiting for the fixed build. I think I nearly have it down, but for now I have a dirty fix, so you guys can enjoy my game over Christmas.
* Firstly right click on Retaliation in your game library.
* Click Properties
* Click the Betas tab
* Select the Beta named 'test'
This fixed the game on my machine but if this doesn't work for you please tell me and I will continue to work on fixing the game properly.
Current State of Things
Hi Guys
Just wanted to explain where the delay was coming from. When I first released Retaliation on Friday, my depots where group together, this was totally the wrong thing to do and was my technical mistake. On Sunday with the help of a very skilled developer on these forums, we resolved the issue and I launched Retaliation onto PC again.....However upon uploading the files that reference the games architecture where not uploaded with the rest of the build, This caused the game to crash upon launch. Despite trying a few different methods to get around the issue I cannot find a way to add these files to the steam depot, as such I have again contacted Steam support to see if their is any advice they can offer. In the meantime I plan to rebuild the game under different parameters, while this may effect the visual design, it will make sure that you guys have something to play before Christmas.
Again very sorry for all of the
PC Refund Method
HI guys last night (11:30pm GMT) I released Retaliation to MAC and PC. The PC build was broken due to an error I had with the steam depot system. When I woke up this morning I saw all of the messages for the game being broken I removed the PC status of this game to prevent any other users downloading something they could not play.
As i'm aware that this is an annoyance to people who have paid for the game let me state that one user has figured out a way to refund the game, by sitting in the 'Achievement Manager' for 5 minutes you can generate the minimum amount of gameplay time required to request a refund for this app.
I am hard at work trying to fix the PC build, so if you are prepared to wait let me first say, THANK YOU. Your support means the world to me and I hope that once Retaliation is released you will enjoy it.
For those currently playing the game on MAC, please email any errors you have to cameronebaxter@btinternet.com with the tag [Mac] and I will fix your issue as soon as I can.
