Vlog 21 : Its out, you can use the level editor right now!

In game multiplayer level editer in action!
https://youtu.be/kcMYyD0YG9k
The level editor is ready to be tested by the general public. Its still very much a work in progress but it as of now is very much able to build functional levels for Revulsion. (And other games as well honestly)
Anything that you build using the level editor right now will be playable in Revulsion very soon. My biggest goal at this point is going to be to get a content patch out for Revulsion that allows you to play levels made in the editor as well as additional game play tweaks and changes.
You can grab the latest version of the editor here.

If you like what you are seeing as far as the direction of the project then please consider buying Revulsion! I really need your support.
Its down to the wire, the editor is almost ready!
https://youtu.be/29QjJFBxz3g
The editor will be ready to go tonight! What does this mean? Once the level editor is ready for basic use that will mean I am ready to begin working on a content patch for Revulsion. I will have all of my focus on the games development for some patch goodness. This includes the ability to load levels with the new editor as well as gameplay changes too.
Some things to keep in mind.
The latest version of Revulsion is using a much newer UE4 engine. This means that the executable is renamed as well. Its entirely possible that there will be some unexpected bug I am not aware of yet.
Your old save game files will need to be moved to a new app data folder.
I will be working on sprucing up the store page as well as including a video showing off the new level editor. This includes getting a new Trailer made as well.
Its very important that this month goes at least marginally well as it will mean support for me to continue working. What I am ramping up to do right now is something zero other people on earth are doing as far as I know. There are lots of classical first person shooters on the market with in game level editors but none of them are based on COOP PVE (Player vs Environment). I am the only one doing this right now and I need your support!
Vlog 18 : This will be the week!
https://youtu.be/hp-TkQZzAcs
Things are moving along at a damn nice pace. In the video I talk about how much is left before the editor will be ready to use by everyone to create standard levels. I also mention a desire to look into doing larger open world level designs with the editor.
So if I make a really pretty terrain level that has a big open world vibe to it. I can then make it so the level editor allows you to fill in those big open spaces with buildings and props. The world can be populated with all kinds of awesome stuff.
Open world survival with a classic shooter combat style? Then normal levels can be like running dungeons for loot. Its a crazy idea but I think it just might work! I don't think its been done before either.
At the end of the video I show what its like to be able to connect to a server where everything is being edited. You can see what its like to join an already existing server.
Tonight marks excellent progress for the in game multiplayer level editor.
So the main things left for me to do at this point are basically to hook up more UI elements so you can further modify objects in the world. Then, its just a matter of making sure that each element is properly saved and loaded in the level. At that point all I need to do is some additional art and tweaks to the visual design.
I am sure I will be working on additional game play content for Revulsion as I begin taking steps toward a content patch that includes the ability to use this level editor to make levels for the game.
Getting closer and closer every day.

So with everything almost in place I realize I how I could have done everything a lot faster. Oh well hindsight is 20/20 I guess. With that said everything is on track. The sale for Revulsion is coming very soon as well as a game play patch.
It turns out the initial release of the level editor is likely to be on my google drive for a bit as it costs 100 USD to put the SDK on Valve's servers.
Vlog 14 : If you like what you see support me! This is just the beginning!
https://youtu.be/DjWvHZuMrXA
I show off the level editor as I begin putting together a new level and just talk about things in general. I talk about a sale very soon that is going to hopefully get peoples attention very soon.
The sale is very important to make it so I can continue working on this project. The level editor, changes improvements to Revulsion 1 and being able to work on Revulsion 2.
Vlog 13 : I am just now seeing the light.
https://youtu.be/frwK5DKtZ1g
I should have seriously been doing things differently this entire time and now I understand. It time to move forward knowing what I know now and fully using the skills I have learned so far to the best of my ability.
I will be streaming my dev work tonight on Youtube and DLive!
Vlog 12 : How should I release the SDK?
https://youtu.be/FtM1S-WCL_g
So the main question is, how should I release the SDK? If I release it inside of Revulsion 1 then it will be a multiplayer level editor inside of a single player game. That might feel a little strange and cause some flow issues where testing the level might require you to run the game twice?
If I release them as separate things then it will probably make more sense but that means people will have to download both separately. I guess this is probably the best option but not really sure.
Vlog 11 : Progress Progress and more Progress.

The lighting system for the level editor is in place. Only stuff left to do now is getting doors, vending machines, fast travel nodes, death and secret volumes in place. I will have the level editor in a usable state by the end of week easily at this rate.
level editor : Lighting is in place!
https://youtu.be/gHfsxhvazmg
I managed to get lighting in a functional state in my editor last night. Only a couple more things are left to do. Things are getting really close! It will take a bit of effort for me to work on getting all of this hooked up in Revulsion but once I do it will be pretty awesome.
