Minor Update - Super bosses and Seated Mode

Greetings adventurers!


It's time for another massive RFVR 'minor' update


This update brings a whole lot of new content - enemies, quests, and possibly most important of all, a seated mode



Here's a brief rundown of many of the changes:

Super Enemies


-We've added 'Super Bosses' and 'Super Mobs' Be prepared for an increased difficulty in every area, Super Bosses are indicated by their bright pink colored level and healthbar, while super mobs are identifiable by their bright red level and health bar.
-Super Bosses are guaranteed to drop one 'Super Item' which is a special armor, weapon, spell, bow, firearm, or throwing weapon bag that has increased and potentially godly stats.
-Super Bosses spawn with one of nine special stat bonuses which are chosen at random and impart their special stats onto their mob members. Super Bosses receive an increase to all base statistics in addition to their special stat bonus.

  • -Extra Strong: Greatly increased HP and increased damage
  • -Extra Fast: Greatly increased movement Speed and attack speed
  • -Extra Resistant: Greatly increases all resistances
  • -Fire Enhanced: Deals fire damage to all players within the radius every 5 seconds
  • -Ice Enhanced: Slows movement speed of all players within the radius for 5 seconds every 5 seconds
  • -Poison Enhanced: Deals poison damage to all players within the radius every 5 seconds
  • -Shock Enhanced: Deals shock damage to all players within the radius every 5 seconds
  • -Holy Enhanced: Heals self and all allies within the radius every 5 seconds
  • -Dark Enhanced: Explodes a nearby dead body and deals dark damage to all players within the radius every 5 seconds

Armor Stat Updates


-we've done an update to armor stats that makes better equipment a bit more common and rare/legendary armors now have even more impressive stats.

Lighting adjustments


-for improved daytime shadows and darker nights, to compensate for the slightly lower visibility at night we've added a new light to all torches that is enabled when held or placed in the body storage.

Melee Slashing Attack homing update


-The Melee 'Slashing attack' is now a homing projectile that seeks out enemies

Wrapping up Mystveil quests with an epic reward


-The Mystveil temple has been packed with new ideas and unique quest rewards, for those who make it this far we've prepared a very special reward

Press Trigger to use Salvage Potions


-new way to activate the salvage potions

Legendary Smithing Hammers


-elemental smithing hammers now give higher smithing bonus.

New enemies


-A new type of enemy that has a second 'super' phase that engages at below 50% hp

and FINALLY, Seated Mode!


-enable seated mode either in the game settings menu or use hot key F7

Crash fix and minor update

Greetings adventurers,


We're pushing an update today with a very important crash fix and some other minor updates.
For those of you who were experiencing the crash, we sincerely thank you for your patience and continued support, especially with testing the crash fixes. We are confident now that the demonic entity that was plaguing our code has been fully exorcised! We apologize if you were impacted by this bug and we'd love to make it up to you -

With that out of the way, what else is new in this update?


Strength and Insight class specific modifiers - To balance the gameplay a bit we've added an enhanced modifier for your character classes and made this modifier visible on weapons and spells. Warriors now deal additional melee damage (Weapon Damage + 2x player Strength), while mages deal additional spell damage (Spell damage + 2x player insight).
Loot Spawn Update - several enemies were spawning items at various heights, we've standardized the spawn location, and no longer simulate physics for any spawned items so they will not fly away in an explosion.
Spawn Optimization - As part of the crash fix, we've implemented an entirely new spawn/despawn logic from scratch with much more optimized logic. Expect some nice performance improvements here.

RFVR Major Update #6



It's Time For Major Update 6



We're excited to bring you an update just in time for the winter sale!



As always there is a huge amount of new content, let's start with what's new



Mystveil Temple - A new town inhabited by the Shinobi and a group of scholars studying the ancient history of the island. Here you can take part in the Shinobi Trials to unlock a new sub-class. The Shinobi sub-class grants double jump and a huge damage bonus to throwing weapons. A new smithing quest line will also teach you how to use the sharpening stone to make your melee weapons capable of launching a projectile slashing attack!

Firearm Overhaul - Bullets needed a new solution and with this update they got one. Firearm projectiles now function a great deal better (especially firing and moving forward)

Boss Battles - Two brand new boss battles have been added and will be found through the main quest line. These bosses present new unique types of challenges, best be prepared

New Relics - It wouldn't be a major update without some powerful new Relic items!

New Enemies - Several new enemies including a flying dragon and an undead shinobi!

Melee Combat Overhaul - We're extra excited to see the melee combat coming together better than ever, reworked a lot of the code to make hits better and more impactful as well as improving the physics and AI behaviors of the enemies. No more crowding too close.

New core spells - Purify remains, a spell that allows you to purify a dead enemy for some HP. Summon Skeleton, a spell that allows you to summon a skeleton follower from enemy remains.

New Music Tracks and Audio Engineering - We continue to expand our playlist of music and have done some fun new things with audio that we think you'll all enjoy

Other Fixes and Improvements



Items Falling Through Map Fix - Items will no longer fall through the map unexpectedly.

Stuck Weapons Solution - No more weapons stuck in things! Ever! A nice quality of life improvement, if an item is stuck just pull it away and it should automatically unstick.


Important Note



Due to some of the recent changes, we've noticed that some saved games may randomly trigger a bug that we're still tracking down that causes a fatal error and game crash. We recommend starting new characters to avoid this crash but from what we gather the crash only seems to happen once and its somewhat random.

Hotfix for quests

A few quests were impacted by the recent update and this is a hotfix to address those problems.

RFVR - Major Update 5

The 5th Major update for RFVR early access. We're more than half way to the finish line now, and while that may not sound like much, the second half is going to go a lot faster than the first. There have been a ton of features and content added that may not have been added without the great feedback and suggestions of the players.. keep it coming and enjoy this update!

RFVR - Major Update 5

It's time for the next Major Update to RFVR Early Access. As always we have a metric crap ton of new content, skills, abilities, quests, enemies, relics and everything else you need.





Major Highlights of this update include



Voice Recognition:

Talk to NPCs, Cast spells and more. Most NPC's can be engaged with a greeting then respond to certain key words and might provide some useful knowledge. There are some voice activated skills that unlock at certain levels like Wind (level 40) and Incinerate (level 60). You can also use voice commands to instruct any party members to wait in place or return to following. Utility spells can be cast by voice, and a few relic spells as well.

Catacombs:

Small cave systems with puzzles, enemies, and precious loot! More of these to come in the near future

New Town/Quests/Enemies/Items:

All geared specially for players level 50 through 70, prepare to be challenged and rewarded. Merchants Cove provides new association quests, while the Pirate docks provide a few unique new opportunities, the pirate sub-class, and the shipping boat.

Performance Optimizations:

Part of our never ending struggle to give you the best performing RFVR as usual, per the contact between Dev and Man.

Pillars of Power:

New pillars to unlock!

Relics:

Two new relic rooms with shiny relics you'll want to have.

Pirate Sub-Class:

Complete the pirate trial and become a Pirate along with all the unique class benefits - double damage with all firearms, and 5X gold pickup.

Shipping Boat:

New boat for sale that acts as a mobile save location and holds 4 long term storage chests, only available to pirate class customers.

New Business:

Become the owner of the Merchants Cove Shipping business and use your fancy new boat to make deliveries for big gold payments. Too busy to fill out the paperwork? Hire the advisor to manage that for a small fee.

Godstone:

The next tier of crystals are now available, allowing you to craft tier 6 through tier 10 spells and imbue weapons with a new debuff effect.

March Minor update!

It is time for the next minor update.



What's new?



Performance Optimizations - As with all our updates we strive to make the experience and performance better for all players, while we aren't 100% of the way there yet, these recent enhancements have made a very noticeable difference.

Melee Combat enhancements - fixed the issue where some hits would land but not deal damage and some enemy body mass improvements. Melee combat physics is still a work in progress but should be noticeably better now.

Shoulder slotting Bows and Firearms - You can now slot bows and firearms into the shoulder storage slots.

New content - New... enemies, weapons, relics, spells, buildable buildings, and more leading up to the next major update.

Minor update: Content and Fixes

Greetings Adventurers,
We are pushing a minor update that includes some new content as well as some hot fixes.

Most importantly: Quest touch controllers no longer require the thumbstick touch to be activated for movement.



Additionally:
-Over 200 new random enemy spawners added to the first quadrant and many many more to come
-New ambient effects in the 'desert' and 'undead' biomes
-Added a light to the mirror so you can now check yourself out in low light areas
-2 new enemy mobs types
