Mountain Update is Live!



IMPORTANT

  • Elevator buttons are fixed!
  • Much larger city with mountains to fly around in.


GRAPHICS

  • Kangaroos are eating in the grass planes. Can you find them?
  • FireDeck has diagram instructions instead of walls of text. Fires spawn continuously.
  • Realistic Baked shadows and AO in critical parts of the city.
  • Added more buildings.
  • Added billboards.
  • Improved water towers.
  • More trees in the city.
  • Fixed road endings.
  • Added a large statue to the peak of the highest mountain. Are you strong enough to push it off?


BUG FIX

  • Music is now fixed. Will trigger when you start flying at top speed.
  • Fixed road z-fighting.
  • Elevator buttons are fixed!


TWEAKS

  • Cars and busses now turn corners more realistically.
  • Increased speed of flying slightly.
  • The fire drone is now a rocket.


OPTIMISATIONS

  • Optimised the rope, birds and rockets to use much less CPU.
  • Realtime light is now off by default. Can be turned back on in Settings.
  • Added option to change haptic strength.

Here's what's in today's update...

BUGFIX: Spiders now appear on the plank level only. They now disappear if you change floors.

UI: You can now change the rotation of the plank in Plank Setup -> Fine tune.

GRAPHICS: Started baking some shadows. Orange rooftop has them. Probably too dark for now.

PERFORMANCE: Added occlusion culling and adjusted realtime lighting for faster frame rate.

Spider Update



Add spiders from the desktop menu (press M)
or add spiders from the plank setup menu in VR.

You can't currently turn off ALL the spiders without restarting the game.Once they're enabled, they are there to stay. You can disable some of them by adding a cake instead.


This update isn't all about spiders. It also includes:
BUG FIX: You can now walk off the end of the plank

BUG FIX: When using the elevator button to go to setup, and then going to fine tune in VR, the pointer doesn't stay on anymore

BUG FIX: Fixed the disappearing cancel button.

BUG FIX: Fixed floating pole and building.

BUG FIX: Desktop setup wizard now fits better on the desktop

TWEAK: Time spent in the white world after death is shorter.

We're currently on our honeymoon part two in Italy!

Next update will be in 3 weeks. Here's what to expect:

BTW, visited the Leonardo DaVinci museum yesterday. I learned that human flight didn't actually happen until 200 years after he died. I wish I could show him flying in VR. I wonder if he'd enjoy it. This is me with his helicopter style flying machine.

Spider Update - Still work in progress



WARNING: The spider update is still work in progress.

Spider Limitations and known issues:

  • Spiders currently fall through the plank a little
  • Their movement isn't convincing.
  • The massive spider walks through the elevator roof. Need to make it a trap door.
  • You can't currently turn off ALL the spiders without restarting the game.Once they're enabled, they are there to stay. You can disable some of them by adding a cake instead.
  • Spiders will be finished when we return home from our honeymoon.

Small Update is Live



It's risky buying an Early Access title, so thank you so much for committing to purchase. The love heart sky writing is for you!

Two small updates went live today...


  • BUG. Improved cars and trucks level of detail when you are certain distances from them. They still aren't perfect though.
  • BUG. Fire on top of Water tower can now be put out.
  • BUG. You can now stand on the tallest building without falling through it.
  • SOUND. Various subliminal sounds now work together on top of the plank.
  • VISUALS. Added more buildings.
  • VISUALS. Improved reflections.
  • VISUALS. Added reflections to the helicopter windows. Also made it a little faster.
  • VISUALS. Increase view distance.
  • VISUALS. Increased fog slightly and adjusted color to match the sky a little more.
  • VISUALS. Better tree animations from the wind.
  • VISUALS. Added a credits screen.
  • VISUALS. Added gratifying amount of steam to fire as you put it out.
  • GAMEPLAY. Reduced the fire life and speed of the flying fire drone.



If anyone can pinpoint exactly when the buttons on the elevator consistently stop working, I'll draw something in the sky for you.

I'm also looking for anyone with skipping frames. I haven't heard of any yet. *Crosses fingers*

I just worked 36 hours straight

Hi guys, we did our best to get this out for you today, but it's just not ready yet.

There's some horrible usability bugs that would really turn some people off so I don't want to risk releasing before they are fixed.

The latest screenshot you see is of one of the flying fireman missions.
