New playable character: Danny
Danny might look like a punk, but he's actually a former acclaimed showman that excels in illusions and manipulation. His cards are tailored to divert the enemy but also to manipulate the deck of his allies!
Let's look at two new cards:
Shadow Clone - Deploy a holographic copy of yourself and use him to divert enemies or even attack them! Be warned: one Crusher attack and your clone's a goner. This card has a lot of nice combos to try out, so catch them all!
The Great Unveil - Ever wanted to play an enemy card? Now you can! With Danny's The Great Unveil card you can take a look at an enemy's hand and use one of their annoying moves against them!
New enemy type: MARV!
The MARV - or the chicken with a bazooka as we like to call it in the office - is the first ranged enemy in the game, which means it will shake up tactics quite a lot. No more hiding behind turrets or walls, this thing comes straight for your soul.
Let's look at one of the MARV's cards:
Vigilance - This is a reaction card, meaning the MARV will use it as soon as it sees you move in a 2 hex radius around it. Then of course, it will reward you with some explosive presents.
...and many more new cards!
The Warehouse, a new environment to play in!
We also conjured up the Warehouse, a magical place made for bot-clobbering. This abandoned multi-floor jungle of walkways and vines creates the most claustrophobic experience in Rise of Humanity yet. The level features a more narrow layout compared to the already existing levels. This also makes the Illusionist shine!
New Daily Challenge Missions!
The daily challenges just got more challenging! More enemies - yes, including the MARV -, more demanding mission goals, more tension in general.
Four challenge types will possibly get you into full-on nail-biting mode:
ESCAPE – Be a sci-fi Houdini and make your way to an ever-changing escape zone while dodging robot raids. All heroes need to escape, so make sure to bring some elbow grease.
DESTROY – Airborne AI shuttles dropped some deadly bombs that eradicate your whole team if you’re too late. Get going and wreck them all before time runs out!
SURVIVE – The robot horde has spotted you, but help is on its way. Can you stand your ground for long enough without getting annihilated? Pro defense tactics are required.
KILL THEM ALL – Classic mode. Just wipe out every robot and claim victory. Simple as that.

Can You Make It With a Random Deck?
With the new battle conditions we added to the game, your heroes definitely have their work cut out for them. Not only can all Daily Challenge maps be engulfed in fog of war now, hiding all enemies from sight. It's also possible that your heroes end up with completely random decks, with the '52 pickup' battle condition. This way, you may have to rethink your entire strategy to make use of the cards you get. Here are some tips to help you do so!
Take the best & leave the rest
With the random decks, your heroes may get some cards that are, well, a bit useless in a battle. So you might want to be tactical and focus on the cards that you can really make use of. It's a good idea to upgrade and remove unwanted cards as soon as possible. This way, there's a higher chance of a damaging card appearing in your hand.
Be strategic with the toolboxes
There are two ways to get new cards in Rise of Humanity. One, is to slay Crushers and the other is to discover the map to loot toolboxes. If you find one of these treasure chests, let the ally with the weakest deck loot them!
Slay some Crushers
Because it's fun, but also because it will give each of your heroes a new card.
Choose wisely
So you've destroyed a Crusher or looted a toolbox. But what now? When it comes to selecting the winning card out of the three options, you should also consider what the mission goal is. If it's a Kill All Enemies mission it's best to go for the attack cards that deal a good amount of damage or can affect more than one enemies. For the Escape mission, getting a Last Resort card may be a good idea as well!

Here’s how to destroy all the bombs in time
In Rise of Humanity's new Destroy! mission, your heroes must eliminate bioweapons before they explode... The clock’s ticking, so you better make a run for it!
The levels usually have three or four bombs, each with a different amount of turns given until they explode. Sometimes the bombs are hidden by fog of war… They may be placed on very different parts of the map, so you need to plan wisely in order to get to all of them in time. Here are some tips on how you can do so.
Focus on the bombs
It may be very tempting to start slaying those bots right away, but in a Destroy mission, we'd advise to always focus on damaging the bombs first. Try to avoid the enemies as much as you can or make use of Memory's powerful debuff skills (immobilize, disarm and so on) to keep them at bay.
A good division of labour
Normally it’s a good idea to keep your heroes together so they stand a better chance against a massive horde of enemies. But what happens when you have to scramble to disarm a bunch of explosive bioweapons that are scattered all over the place?
In such a case, splitting your team works better. Check where the bombs are and which ones will blow up first. (In the top right corner, you’ll see how many turns you have left before the bang.) Attack the first bomb with two of your heroes while sending the third one for the bomb that is next in line for a bang.
Watch out for them Puppies
Puppies in Rise of Humanity are pretty nasty on their own. They become even more of a menace though when you have to rush to disarm bombs and they come and immobilize you with their Cripple attacks. It’s a good idea to be (even more) vigilant about these evil doggos. Try not to wake them up or make sure to use a dodge card (Quick Reflexes or Raise Defense) to avoid being stuck in one place while those bombs go boom on you.
Do the math
Keep your most powerful cards for da bomb. Hunter’s Ice Axe or Turbo Jabs will work wonders, especially if you give them a little boost with an Enrage card. And of course, a Bunny will go a long way. If you have Memory on your team, you’re in luck. You can pretty much send this powerful hacker against a bomb on her own, by discarding a bunch of Energy Overload cards you can deal a whole lotta damage without even using any energy.
Shut Down to the rescue
It’s always a good idea to collect more cards by looting toolboxes and slaying them Crushers. But it can be even more useful when you have a bunch of ticking bombs on your plate. A powerful card like the Shut Down can save you a lot of trouble by eliminating one of these menaces at once. Be careful though, the bombs do have to have less than 8 health points for this mighty card to be effective.
Fight fire with fire
If you have a bunch of enemies surrounding the bomb, make use of your explosives (Bunnies, grenades, Mollie Cocktails) to hit two (or more) birds with one stone. Not only will you take out the bomb in time but deal damage to those big bad robots at the same time. This will get you more points and thus, a higher score on our leaderboards.

How to beat the Survive missions
In the new Survive missions, our heroes have to make it through an excruciating NINE (or more) rounds among a horde of deadly robots. There are reinforcements (new enemies) spawning every turn so better watch your back. Here are some tips on how your heroes can make it through!
Stick together
Remember the scene from the Avengers where they all assemble in a circle against the army of enemies? That should be your heroes. The Survive mission is not the time to be a lone wolf. Even if you need to complete battle goals that require you to wonder around, try to stay as close to your team as possible. You never know where an enemy might pop up out of the blue – and which enemy that may be…
Watch out for reinforcements
Once you’ve gathered your heroes, it might be a good idea to stay away from those red hexes. You never know when a Puppy will fall from the sky, or even worse, a mighty Smasher pops up… 😬
Use deployables
Building a fortress of turrets around your heroes with Su is the best idea you can have. If you don’t have her on your team, you can still distract some enemies with Alex’s beacons – they will also give you extra health, cards or stamina! Until they are destroyed by those bots, that is.
