New Emotes panel! You can use them to communicate with your opponent or react to shocking or funny moments in the game.
For now, we've enabled "Hello", "Good Luck", "Cry", "Wow", "Hmmm..." and "Knuckles", but in the future you'll be able to customize your emote selection with new collectible emotes.



๐Ÿฒ New cards, abilities and synergies ๐Ÿฒ
This update features 16 completely new cards, 24 cards with new abilities and 32 cards with balance changes, as well as new keywords, effects and synergies that allow for a greater variety of viable decks.



๐ŸŒ‹ Dynamic battlefields ๐ŸŒ‹
We have significantly reduced the size of the battlefields and now the battlefield itself plays cards like any other player! Each scenario has its own set of cards capable of modifying the playing field throughout the game and intervening in it with volcanic eruptions, blizzards, tiles that sink into lava, slippery ice, etc.
To give players the opportunity to react to these effects, we have introduced delayed areas: Some spells and scenario events do not execute instantly, but instead leave a marker of the affected area on the scenario, leaving each of the players a full turn before its effect is executed.
The โ€œDunes of Gur-Miltakโ€ scenario has been temporarily disabled and will be reintroduced, along with its new mechanics, in the next minor update.



๐Ÿ‘Š Updated mechanics ๐Ÿ‘Š
We've introduced a new core mechanic: Strike Back! When a warrior (melee unit) survives an attack from an adjacent unit, it will strike back.
On the other hand, stamina is now called mana, is blue, and works in a more familiar and intuitive way: actions such as moving, attacking, or relieving an ally no longer spend mana.
These two changes are intended to make games much more agile, add depth to micro-strategy, and remove the frustration of not being able to move or attack with your units when you have spent all your mana.


๐Ÿ“š New tutorial ๐Ÿ“š
We have improved the tutorial to make it shorter and more dynamic, as well as including teachings on the new mechanics.



โš™๏ธ Equipment durability โš™๏ธ
Equipment now has durability points (3 by default) that can be seen at the top of the equipped unit.
Equipment loses one point of durability after each use (weapons erode when striking, armors erode when being struck, and artifacts erode when performing their ability) and are destroyed when it reaches 0.
Some cards can repair or increase the maximum durability of equipment.


โœจ Visual improvements โœจ
We have introduced 26 new card illustrations, as well as multiple improvements to the user interface, models, textures, animations and visual effects, including a facelift to the tiles highlight.
We've also changed the appearance and colors of the mana, power, and life gems on the cards for greater visual clarity.
Some cards have temporary artwork that will be replaced by their final version in the next minor update.


โฑ Quality of life improvements โฑ
We have included an option in the graphics settings menu to adjust environmental effects (fog, snow, smoke and embers). We recommend to disable them completely to stream the game, since these effects saturate the stream's bitrate, significantly worsening the image quality.
We have improved the fluidity of the game, especially on computers with a lower frame rate per second.
We have significantly improved the game's performance.
We've added a new buff page to the unit preview screen that shows added effects and stat boosts.
We have improved the functioning and display of history.

All bugs detected in the previous version have been fixed.

We have added an action history view to the game! Now you can always check which cards have been played, the actions that have been performed, what units have received damage, which elements have been destroyed, etc.



๐Ÿคธโ€โ™€๏ธ New mechanics๐Ÿคธโ€โ™‚๏ธ
We've introduced a new core mechanic: Back Up! When a unit backs up another friendly unit, it will move to an adjacent square and then swap positions. This allows you to move units without exhausting them and grant escape routes for your allies. It has more strategic depth than it seems!
We've also introduced targeting abilities! These allow you to target the position or item you want.
Lastly, we have introduced some new keywords such as push or pull.

๐ŸŸข New stamina system ๐ŸŸข
We are introducing a number of changes to the stamina system, which will reach its final form in the next major update. For now, it works like this: Each player starts with 1 maximum stamina point, which increases by 1 point each turn until it reaches 10. At the start of their turn, each player recharges their stamina to maximum.

We made lots of visual improvements to models, textures, interface, animations, and visual effects.
In addition, the highlight of the cells has a new design.

๐Ÿ“š Deck building improvements ๐Ÿ“š
We have doubled the amount of neutral cards. This provides a lot more archetypes, synergies and unique mechanics to your new decks.
Additionally, the rarity of a card now determines how many copies you can include in a single deck. For example, you may use up to four copies of the same common card. We hope this change will lead to more interesting and varied decks.

The tutorial has been redone and brings deep changes to offer a more streamlined and condensed experience.
You can access the tutorial from the Adventure button on the Main menu.

We have updated Illateuthis, the Cataclysm with a new ability and visual effects, and made minor changes on related cards aiming for better and more interesting combos and synergies.
In addition, some cards have been tweaked to improve game balance.

Now you can challenge your steam friends! You can access this functionality clicking the Challenge a friend button in the deck selection screen.
You will also find the Invite link button, which provides a URL that can be used to invite other steam users not in your friends list.




๐Ÿ”Ž Preview๐Ÿ”Ž
We have improved the card preview system by showing more information about the relevant card effects, related cards, edition name, lore, etc. You can even rotate the card to enjoy the illustration better!
You can show the preview for any card in the game (either in-game, the deck builder screen or in the battlefield elements) by right-clicking it.




๐ŸฒMultiple subtypes ๐Ÿฒ
Each card may now have up to 3 subtypes. These subtypes are displayed as icons under the cost indicator of the card.
As a consequence, some cards have lost their subtype while others have gained an additional subtype.
You can check what does each icon mean by moving the mouse over it in the preview screen or from the deck builder.


โœจVisual improvements โœจ
We kept improving the game visuals. Some of the most outstanding changes are:

  • All temporary illustrations have been replaced by their final versions.
  • Card descriptions now include descriptive icons.
  • Improved the 3D models of the cards.
  • New visual effects.





๐ŸŒ‹Molten plains ๐ŸŒ‹
The "Molten plains" battlefield received both visual and mechanical updates.
Now the battlefield constantly changes while playing it: Lava Breaches appear from time to time which later sink into the lava, becoming unwalkable and destroying anything on them. Beware of this!




โš– Balancing changes โš–
We introduced the concept of in area. When an effect has in area keyword, that means that it affects the target position plus the adjacent and diagonal positions (a total of 9 positions). These are:

  • Prayer.
  • Dynamite belt
  • Explosive barrel. Reduced dealt damage from 3 to 2.

We also rebalanced the following cards:

  • Oxidized axe's cost raised from 1 to 2.
  • Skullsmasher's power raised from 3 to 4.
  • Primal roar now disarms all enemies.
  • Beast master's power and life reduced from 3/3 to 2/2.
  • Hawkeye Aiming's power reduced from +3 to +2.
  • Glade Guardian's cost increased from 4 top 5.
  • Shadowblade Raider's life increased from w to 3.
  • Removed Dracobranch's last will ability.


โŒจ Keyboard controls โŒจ
We have enabled alternate controls to make certain in-game interactions more comfortable:

  • The alert panels, options and the preview screen can be closed by pressing the ESC key.
  • While previewing cards that have other related cards, you can switch between the different cards by pressing the left and right arrows, keys A and D or the mouse wheel.


โฑ Performance improvements โฑ
We have improved the game performance in terms of reducing the deck builder screen laoding times and we have also decreased the memory usage.

We have done deep visual changes, such as moving all assets from 2D to 3D, VFX improvements, new illustrations, or a renewed interface. We are still working on these changes so you might find a few placeholders yet. These will be upgraded in the future.

We have greatly improved how the game internally works and we have developed new tools that allow us to work faster and more efficiently. This means that we will be able to include new content and updates more often!
