First and foremost, Happy New Year, everyone! Hope y'all had a wonderful holiday season, filled with happiness, joy, and amazing games!
Short and sweet today with a micro patch focused on dealing with some lowkey dissonance between story and gameplay. Let's go!
Added more lines of dialogue to Woten and Ferus to better reflect the actions taken during gameplay
Added Key Item notifications during certain quest moments
Added a dialogue indicator to help you find Olivia easier
Fixed a bug that would cause Pike not to give you the items he's mentioning during dialogue when leaving Dohan
Fixed several small issues with the BGM switching erratically within the same cutscene
That's all for today, see you the next time! 🖤
Shop QoL improvements & bugfixes micropatch
Hey all,
We just published a small update to Rising Spire, dealing with some minor bugs and adding some quality of life improvements mostly focused on the Dohan Shop in game.
Bugfixes
Fixed an issue causing the Jack'o'Mama fight to freeze
The Setup Camp button now correctly displays the input key as F instead of X
Twilight Moss now appears only at night, as the lord intended
Fixed tooltip descriptions for runes and abilities
Fixed a visual bug that caused Nephilim abilities to be displayed wonkily in the Abilities Menu
Fixed a bug that caused the amount of coin in the inventory to not save / load properly
Fixed a bug that would have you purchase Small Hunches in the shop once you had already purchased a different item
Fixed a bug that allowed you to keep buying or selling a Stack of items, even though they technically they were out of stock
Fixed a bug that displayed inventory items as white squares for some players.
Quality of Life changes to the Shop
Default background color for the different items is no longer purple
Dohan's Famous Grilled Cheese now properly fits in the shop's inventory
Recipes are purchasable only one time (and passed down from generation to generation in a battered, old recipe book)
You are now notified you're poor in case you don't have enough coin to purchase a particular item
The shop inventory now has a proper selector animation
Additional note
We are still investigating any potential other issues with the Jack'o'Mama fight.
As usual, please let us know if you encounter any bugs or issues, either here on Steam, or directly on Discord. We highly appreciate it! 🖤
Happy Christmas weekend! - The LFB Studios team
Act 1 Content + Polish update
Thank you for playing Rising Spire! 💙
The first content patch in the game's Early Access stage is here, and it also includes lots of polish for already existing content and systems. Let's take a look!
New Content
New side quests
Take your time exploring Dohan, and you will be greeted with new faces, ready to send you in the jaws of dangers for some rewards that will definitely help you save the world, mhm.
New dialogue / character interactions
Won't go into spoilers, but I will tell you that we added a few more scenes where Atlas interacts with other characters to try and get an understanding of what is actually going on around him. Can't make any promises for Atlas himself, but it's sure to help you, the player!
Visual content
Added more flavor to the overworld. This includes lots of changes to the town of Dohan in particular, but also visual updates / more items in the Dohan Forest where the biggest part of Arc 1 takes place: new grasses, trees, landmarks, textures, and VFX.
Polished Content
Let's go over the updates that we've implemented for the content that was already in the game with the original Early Access launch.
Enemies and Combat
General battle balance: increased difficulty of standard enemies and minor boss battles
Reduced difficulty of the current final battle (if you managed to beat her before, hat's off to you, major respect)
Added more abilities to enemies
Added more animations to enemies
Battle UI updated
Battle scenes updated
In other words, the battles are generally more challenging, and also way better looking.
Party Members
Modified the starting stats values
Stats are now gained for all party members on combat level increase
Weapon mastery now increases base damage done with that particular weapon
Player Menu & General UI
Major changes to general appearance (and I mean major)
Increased inventory size
Added new icons for inventory items
Added currency and epitaph tracker in the inventory
Tooltip style changed to better accommodate various screen sizes
Added new rewards notifications system
Everything UI related got a facelift and is now more helpful for players.
Other
Camping can now be done at any time as means to fast forward from dawn to dusk, or dusk to dawn.
Journal updated both in terms of appearance, and also helpfulness (no more cryptic entries that tell you nothing about next steps).
Maps (M) have been updated in the Journal to better reflect each scene and to help you figure out which direction to go.
Each area has a distinct name now, displayed upon entering the scene. We know it's difficult to not get lost in a forest - this should make exploration much easier.
Bugs and known issues
Fixed several big and small bugs from the previous public patch
Known issue: the epitaph tracker will only start tracking the epitaphs after accepting Valentin's quest (previously read epitaphs will be tracked accordingly)
Known issue: the tooltips for the Twin Blades runes are missing description.
Aaand that's a general overview for today's update! If you find any bugs or issues, please reach out to let us know. You can open a discussion thread here on Steam, leave a comment to this update, or simply write to us on Discord - we have a dedicated channel for bug reporting and it's easier to ask for details and all that stuff. A huge thank you, this is much appreciated!
Enjoy, have fun, and let us know what you think!
Love, The LFB Studios team

When we get close to a new milestone, we will update the roadmap with more details about what is included in each patch. :D

Rising Spire LIVE on Kickstarter and Prelude out of Early Access!
Today's news is huge, but we'll do our best to keep it short and sweet, promise!
Rising Spire: Prelude is officially OUT of Early Access
We wanted the Prelude to be a vertical slice of story to introduce the players to the world of Rising Spire and, of course, the base gameplay mechanics that will be available in the main game. And it seems we have managed to do that!
Getting the Prelude out of Early Access, however, does not mean we will stop updating it. We will keep working on the game to make sure that there aren't any pesky bugs, no matter how small. That's a promise!
That said...
Rising Spire is LIVE on Kickstarter
The full release of the Prelude is partly meant as a celebration for the Kickstarter kick off! We have just launched the campaign for the main game and we're counting on your support!
We have plenty of awesome rewards ready, so head over to the Kickstarter page, claim yours, meet the team, and help Rising Spire come to life! Together, we can do this!
Many thanks, always - the Lonely Final Boss team
Rising Spire is coming to Kickstarter on 2/22/22
The Lonely Final Boss team is extremely excited to announce that Rising Spire is launching a Kickstarter campaign on February 22, 2022!
The project started taking shape back in 2019 and it has been entirely self funded ever since then. As time passed by, we began to realize that the world of Malus and all the awesome features we want to include might just need a bit more support than what we alone could provide.
Let us be upfront from the start: No matter of the outcome of the campaign, Rising Spire will be completed with its most basic features.
However, by reaching our Kickstarter goal, we will have the means to add more time to development and will be able to complete the full original story, together with additional features and content. Each milestone we reach will allow us to dedicate more time into making Rising Spire the best possible game it can be.
Follow us on Kickstarter so you get notified as soon as the campaign goes live: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/risingspire/rising-spire-a-final-fantasy-inspired-rpg
Rising Spire: Prelude is out NOW!
Hello everyone!
We're extremely excited to announce that Rising Spire: Prelude is available for FREE on Steam!
The Prelude presents the events leading up to the story in the full game and acts as a demo at the same time. As we're releasing it in Early Access, do expect more content to be added soon and keep an eye on the updates. :D
Meanwhile, enjoy Atlas' brief adventure and make sure to leave a review. That would be fantastic!
Good luck, have fun, and don't let the Strix bite!
