Update 1.5.1 Is Being Deployed

This is the first of several expected hotfixes for Update 1.5. This update is a proper shipping build for clients and servers, not a debug build which accidentally shipped yesterday. The current plan includes another build tomorrow to fix several issues that were found in the testing of this build, and another hotfix in the coming days to address other player encountered issues that have been reported.

PSA: On Current Update 1.5 Issues

We are aware of the update 1.5 issues players are experiencing and are working to quickly resolve them. We are expecting to ship an update in the next 24 hours to address the debug build that was deployed to players instead of the shipping build. This will improve performance and provide players with the expected gameplay experience.
Further issues will be addressed in a subsequent hotfix. We apologize for this mixup and we look forward to seeing all the new and returning boots on the ground once this is resolved.

Rising Storm 2 Update 1.5

New Additions and Highlights

  • Epic Online Services (EOS) integrated into dedicated server framework to enable Cross-Play capability between Steam and EGS players
  • New In-Game Invite UI system that will enable Steam users to link an associated EGS account you own so that they can send their EGS friends invites to parties and server lobbies.
  • Replaced VOIP services for in-game chat to Vivox in order to enable Steam-EGS cross-platform VOIP within multiplayer matches and lobbies.

Known Bugs and Issues

  • In server Green Army Men upgrade on the EGS client is redirecting to the Steam store
  • Steam SDK has the opportunity to fail to load properly on launch.
  • There is a case where servers can fail to become ranked
  • No new mods have been whitelisted as part of this update

Bug fixes

  • Fixed an issue where the HMG’s could fail to properly spawn
  • Fixed an issue where valid ranked servers could switch to unranked on map change


Bug fixes from Steam/EOS Preview Beta

General

  • Fixed an issue with the client potentially crashing by quickly refreshing the server browser.
  • Fixed an issue with the client potentially crashing when quickly moving through tabs and menus.
  • Server Names can now be changed using Web Admin.
  • Custom Maps are able to be downloaded for EGS clients if admins have set up a redirect

Matchmaking

  • Fixed issues with the Find Match functionality which prevented users from finding active matches.
  • Fixed various matchmaking issues for both EGS and Steam.


UI

  • Fixed an issue where the number of players on a server was not displaying correctly after connecting to the server.
  • Fixed an issue where the Loudness scale UI elements were not reflecting the actual changes made.
  • Fixed an issue with long nicknames displaying incorrectly within invite popups.
  • Fixed an issue where the local voice channel was not displaying correctly after changing teams.
  • Fixed an issue where entering and then leaving a server would remove the server from the Server Browser.
  • Fixed an issue where clients would get stuck in an invite loop due to UI overlays while in a server.


Localization

  • Fixed an issue with Cyrillic symbols not decoding correctly in the server players list.
  • Fixed an issue with Cyrilic nicknames not displaying correctly in Invite popups.


Voice Chat

  • Fixed an issue where spectators were able to hear local voice chat.
  • Fixed an issue where Mute was not working correctly.

Known Bugs and Issues

  • Muted players can occasionally be heard in the team channel.
  • A crash may occur when switching tables repeatedly or refreshing in the server browser.
  • Find match functionality is currently not locating valid games.
  • EGS client the server will not appear in the browser list after initially connecting. A restart has of the client should repopulate the list.

When the Soviets crossed the border, they brought with them an armada of different armored vehicles, from light transport tractors to gargantuan heavy tanks. This mod features the following:

  • T-28 Medium Tank


Drastically different from the helicopters of Rising Storm 2, these behemoths require players to work together to properly and effectively utilize. Single crewmen cannot drive and operate the turret at the same time!

Meanwhile Finnish players have a variety of handheld anti-tank weapons and traps, including the renowned Molotov Cocktail. To keep up with the mechanized Soviet transports, Finnish soldiers are issued Skis that can be used to quickly cross open terrain.

Green Army Men Update 1.2 - Thanksgiving

Added FOUR new weapons for both factions:


  • BAZOOKA

    • 60mm Rocket Launcher for the Grenadier role.


Shoulder-Fired launcher capable of delivering high-explosive missiles at high speeds.

Very destructive, but the size of the weapon leaves little space for spare munitions.


  • DESIGNATED MARKSMAN RIFLE

    • 7.62 Semi-Automatic Rifle for the Sniper role.


Semi-automatic precision weapon intended for medium range engagements.

Sports greatly increased magazine size compared to other alternatives.


  • SMOKE GRENADE LAUNCHER

    • 40mm Grenade Launcher for the Grenadier role.


Cut down variant of the Grenade Launcher only capable of firing 40mm Smoke Grenades.

  • The leaves are changing color, family is in town, and there is a fat Turkey in the oven. We all know what that means.. The fight for the Kitchen has commenced on Thanksgiving Day.


Battle your way across the countertops, air ducts, and dining room table as the Green Army Men invade Thanksgiving Dinner. Navigate your way through Potato fortresses and Wine bottle towers. The winner takes all, the turkey on this festive holiday map.


Take the fight outside as you navigate your choppers around the back deck

stronghold and Dad's half finished leaf piles. There is one more thing to be Thankful for this year : more Green Army Men madness!





Weapon balance and other adjustments:

  • Added a new Combat Engineer loadout.
  • Updated the look of Player and Weapon materials.
  • Fixed a bug where Commander bots would call in the wrong air support abilities.

    • Improvements to Single Action mode.
    • Fixed a bug where visual recoil would not always play upon firing.

State Of The Game - September 2019

As you are most likely aware, Antimatter Games, who did the majority of development work on Rising Storm 2: Vietnam have been acquired by Toadman and announced they are working exclusively on a new title of their own. As such, they are no longer actively developing RS 2. While we work on the longer-term implications of that, there are a number of issues we are aware of and are actively working to fix for you in the coming weeks, including but not limited to:


  • Whitelist updates for new mods/mutators
  • Servers intermittently going deranked
  • “Black screen” during Campaign Mode under certain circumstances

The 1.1 patch adds six new weapons and a brand new map to the Green Army Men DLC

Weapon balance adjustments :


  • Adjustments to ironsight magnification amount across all weapons.



Short range weapons now share the same reduced magnification when aiming down the sights. Rifles, Machine Guns and precision weapons retain higher magnification.

    • Slightly decreased base accuracy
    • Moved sights closer to player view
    • Slightly reduced muzzle climb

  • SHOTGUN

    • Increased base damage for 00 Buckshot and No4 Buckshot

Light Support Weapon that trades magazine size for mobility.
The alternate firing mode improves shot grouping by lowering the rate of fire.

Lightweight carbine available as an alternative to the SMG.
The cartridge used by this weapon sports surprising power retention over long distances.


  • ASSAULT SUBMACHINE GUN

Compact variant of the Assault Rifle designed for operations in cramped environments, such as anthills or dollhouses.

Green Army Men Update 1.02

This patch focuses on TTK changes and weapon balancing, implementing feedback from the recent gunplay survey.

General changes :

  • Greatly increased weapon damage across the board
  • Adjusted helicopter crew damage scaling
  • Slightly increased bullet velocity on helicopter mounted weapons
  • Minor adjustments to the handling of all weapons
  • Increased damage and effective radius of explosives
  • Rebalanced carried ammo amounts for Flamethrower and M79
