State of the game

I understand that there have been questions about why development on Road to Eden appeared to have halted, especially given the negative reviews it has received in that regard. I am taking this opportunity to clarify the situation.

Road to Eden was, and still is, a project that holds a special place in my heart. It began as a labor of love and was the focal point of an amazing community. Over the years, I dedicated a significant amount of time and effort to its development.

The decision to work on RTE Worlds was not taken lightly. With the advent of Unreal Engine 5, there were exciting technological advancements that could greatly enhance the gaming experience. As a result, RTE Worlds became a separate project, offering a completely different gameplay experience and a host of new features.

I want to emphasize that transitioning to RTE Worlds was not about abandoning Road to Eden but rather about leveraging the possibilities offered by UE5 to create a more expansive and immersive game. This transition allowed us to introduce features like random world generation, a vast map size of over 625km², traders, quests, unique loot systems, diverse exploration options including air, sea, and land, and much more. These enhancements would have been challenging to achieve within the constraints of UE4.

I appreciate your understanding and patience as we continue to work on RTE Worlds. Please know that Road to Eden remains a project close to my heart, and I am committed to maintaining its legacy. At some point in the future, I will turn my attention back to Road to Eden and work on bringing closure to all the players who enjoyed and spent countless hours in the game.

Hello Survivors!



Alpha 5.93 is now deployed on the Steam Alpha branch.
I added multiplayer to the creative mode, so now you can play creative mode with your friends.
I also added the first batch of creative blocks so you can spawn infected and mutants in creative mode.
When you start a (local) multiplayer server it will be visible from the server list, anyone with the same game version can join. I can't wait to see what you create.
Switching from single player to creative mode is now fixed.
Just switch to the alpha branch if you want to try it out. Remember to press K to toggle the creative menu.

Hello Survivors!



We are almost done testing multiplayer creative mode, You will be able to invite friends to join your creative session, with the option to prevent other players from spawning items.

I am also testing new creative blocks that you can place on the map to create game-play scenarios, like spawning infected and mutants, spawning hordes, loot chests, quests, missions and others.



I am preparing several creative mode maps with different sizes to choose from, If testing goes well, they could be included in the next update.



There is a closed public testing phase coming, be sure to request access on the community discord to try it out



PVP scenarios could also be coming to creative mode, Its still work in progress, I will post more detail soon!

Hello survivors!
Based on community requests!
I am so excited to share with you the fist patch of the creative mode,
The creative mode has its own map for now, I am planning to add more maps and scenario options.
You can spawn all the available building pieces as well as all the vehicles, and there are no infected in sight!

I will add multiplayer later on (through local hosting and Lan) and the ability to create scenarios by placing special infected spawner blocks, timers, loot chests and setting your own game rules. You can either play alone or with your friends.

I have added horde annihilation rewards, high tier hordes will drop a jam-packed chest full of ammo and rare weapons. happy hunting!

I also added new build areas around the gate in zone 2 and a few other places, with a very nice view.

The widow maker is now in the game and you can only find it at the bottom of the silo

I know it has been a while since I updated Road to Eden; it was due to power outages and other unsurmountable circumstances happening in my country.
The good news is that now that I managed to solve these issues, I am able to continue rolling updates as usual

Hello fellow survivors!

Gmadden03 here. It's been a while since we have had an update but that is all about to change. Zouking has solved his power issues (He will explain further soon) and he is hard at work again. A new patch is being tested now and should be arriving very soon for all of you to enjoy. As a hint as to what is part of it i will say is WASP!!! We want to thank this wonderful community for sticking with us and waiting patiently and we will be chatting again very soon with those juicy patch notes.
