Winter Content Update: New Weapon UNLOCKED!
ROBOBEAT is without end. ROBOBEAT is at the centre of all things. ROBOBEAT is…
Getting a free Winter content update!
If you’re wondering what our cryptic intro was all about, we’ve added a new feature called the Infinite Locker and a new weapon called the Nexus in this update. On top of that, we now have some shiny new Trading Cards to share with all of you and lots of bug fixes too.
Check out our Winter Content Update Trailer to see what’s included in this update and read on to find out more 👇
Before we get into the new in-game additions, let’s talk about Trading Cards!
ROBOBEAT now has 6 Badges, 5 Trading Cards, 5 Emoticons, 4 Profile Backgrounds, and 3 Animated Backgrounds for you to unlock.
Here’s a sneak peek at what some of our new community items look like 👇
Enough of looking at pretty things, it’s time for the action!
Here’s a run down of how our new feature and weapon will work.
The Infinite Locker
Are you sick and tired of always losing your favorite stuff?
That’s where the Infinite Locker comes in!
Once unlocked, the Infinite Locker will allow you to save one weapon and one ability in lockers that are located at specific points throughout the game. You’ll also always be able to find them in the HUB at the start of any run, where they’ll be stored in a separate side box. This means you’ll have access to your preferred weapon and ability throughout any run.
You’ll need to find the blueprint for the Infinite Locker and unlock it at the workshop first though!
The Nexus
Want to charge up your attack strategy?
Then we’ve got the weapon for you.
The Nexus is a new ranged weapon where you’ll need to use the Charge first, which will throw out sticky beacons in the direction you’re facing. Once THE BEACONS ARE LIT (and Robodor calls for aid), any time you shoot, your shots will split out and target all of those beacon locations. It makes for a great crowd control technique, where you can attach a bunch of beacons to different enemies and then shoot them all simultaneously.
The beacons will run out after a certain number of shots though, so keep a close eye on which ones are still active!
Alongside the new feature and new weapon, we’ve also included the following bug fixes in this update:
Fixed the issue causing the volume slider to increase by 1 when editing a custom track.
Fixed the issue in a specific room in the Citadel that occasionally had enemies disappearing from the map.
Fixed the issue where the “Set BPM” option in the custom music editor didn’t work with decimal inputs in certain countries (e.g. German, Spanish, Portuguese settings).
Fixed a bug causing the beat-streak UI to misalign when changing resolutions.
Fixed the issue causing the ‘Show Advance’' option to not be opened if changes have been made.
Fixed the issue causing the HUD not to display recent changes made to key-bindings.
Fixed the intro music not muting when the music volume is set to 0.
Fixed an issue where a door showed as open but remained closed.
Fixed the suicider enemy so it has the correct death particle.
Fixed the issue causing certain weapons to overlap in the menu while charged.
Fixed the issue causing general tricks to change position in the list when they have the same score.
Fixed the issue causing the pick-up UI to appear for a split second when dying.
Fixed the issue causing a corridor to send the player to the void.
Fixed the issue causing the STAB weapon to have collision when dropped.
Fixed some options that did not localize correctly when changing language.
Fixed the issue causing weapons to not reset on exiting to the main menu at a certain event.
Fixed the issue where holding the left mouse button before pressing 'A' or 'D' caused instant weapon pickup.
Fixed the issue causing the menu not to automatically redirect players to the Neural playback page after viewing a memory in fullscreen mode.
Fixed an issue causing ‘ESQ’ not to exit the settings menu after changing ‘Move’ keybindings.
Fixed the issue causing the time computer failing to retract when the criteria is met.
Fixed the issue causing some languages to ignore linebreak characters.
Fixed the issue causing ‘Heartstopper’ to persist even after going back to the main menu.

Nominate ROBOBEAT for Best Soundtrack in the Steam Awards
Listen up, all you robo-gunslingers and rhythm cowboys…
It’s time to have your say, play your way, and make sure ROBOBEAT is here to stay 🎶
We’re asking all of you to cast your votes and help us to get ROBOBEAT nominated for the Steam Awards 2024!
You’re probably wondering, how does all of this work?
You’re free to choose to nominate ROBOBEAT for any of the categories in the Steam Awards, but we’d really appreciate it if you could nominate us for the Best Soundtrack category!
The Best Soundtrack category is for those games that deserve to be recognised for their outstanding musical score. In a nutshell, they’ve got the OST with the MOST!
So why do we think ROBOBEAT belongs in this category?
At its core, ROBOBEAT is all about shooting in sync with the rhythm, so music is at the very heart of the game. While you can add your own music into the game using the Custom Music editor, we spent a long time cherry-picking some incredible artists and carefully crafting the game’s soundtrack so that players could have an exceptional experience with or without the custom music feature.
Our soundtrack is made up of a sonic smorgasbord of styles, from glitch hop to electro swing. Seven incredibly talented artists contributed to it and all of them deserve special mention here. In order of how they are credited on the official OST, here they are along with the tracks they wrote for ROBOBEAT:
Thomas Vent - Razor’s Edge, Outlaw Override, and Swing Express.
Sobrem - High Voltage, Circuit Breaker, and Baneslinger.
nozze - Zombies, Back to Basics, Demented Wrath, McDuck is Now a Bird, Boss Battle, and Jack Black (Bonus).
Dark Twin Productions - Devil’s Disco, Riff Shocker, Groove Riot!, Bassline Blitz, Mechanical Pharaohs, The Duel, The Return, Zany Zone, Slow Down Buddy, and Peripatetic.
smultron - ROBOBEAT Menu Theme, The Drop, The Introduction, Adrenaline, The Great Battle for 2024 Begins, This Swamp is Overrun By Broken Robots, and Galactic Love Interest.
Dav Dralleon - Undeadline.
Hunter J Pierce - The Passage, Disco Fever, Data Corruption, and Infected Concept.
If you fell in love with any of these tracks while playing ROBOBEAT, please honour the exceptional work of these artists and nominate us for Best Soundtrack in the Steam Awards!
The top five nominees of each category will be revealed on the run-up to the Winter Sale, so keep your eyes peeled to see if ROBOBEAT gets nominated and then get ready to start voting all over again.
