We have just a few days left for Steam Next Fest so starting from now until October 17th, you will be able to earn double the XP in battles so that you can claim a bunch of cosmetic items!
On Tuesday October 17th, the demo will be deactivated. Anyone who has been given access to the game via Playtest will still be able to play after this time but servers will return to selected times instead of 24/7.
Of course, any machines you have created will transfer over to the Early Access version on November 7th. This also includes all Robits you’ve earned as well as any cosmetic items and any machines you have created. This is your reminder to play lots this weekend so that you can earn the items on the Next fest island for free!
Once the demo has been delisted, we’ll begin to work on some polish and feedback that we’ve gained during the event from players across steam and our Discord.
We published a roadmap a little while ago, and whilst most of the “coming soon” features have already been implemented, check it out to see some of our plans for the future.
We will produce a new roadmap soon so please keep an eye out for that in the near future!
Of course, if you want to be notified when the game launches on Early Access, please add the game to your wishlist from the Steam Store page below:
In the meantime, if you’ve created an awesome Robocraft, please share screenshots of them with us! You can do this via the Screenshot upload on Steam or on our various socials like Discord and X (Twitter)!
Thank you for playing and I hope we’ll see many of you return to battle on November 7th!

Next Fest Island Now Live! Further Improvements To Lighting
Hello Robocrafters!
It’s update time! We are also now out of maintenance and are getting ready for NEXT FEST! And if you haven’t done so already, please make sure to add the game to your Steam Wishlist now! It really helps us out!
This update includes new content and a number of improvements! Check it out below!
Firstly, the Steam Next Fest Island is now live and players will be able to unlock the EVIL items right now! We’ve increased the player level to 73 so you can begin earning tech points to unlock these awesome new cosmetic items! We’ve got a new cosmetic material, new skins, a new switch plate, and some profile customizations too!
The entire NEXT FEST Island content is available to unlock for free.
MORE LIGHTING IMPROVEMENTS!
You thought we were stopping at visual improvements with the new interiors! Of course not! We’ve made a few more adjustments. Firstly the towers now emit light based on the colour of the tower!
We’ve also improved the visual look of the flooring for interiors!
The final change for this update is dynamic indoor/outdoor lighting. As you move into buildings and under cover the lighting will adjust accordingly by adjusting the post-processing filters to suit whether the player is within an interior or outside.
One of the areas we noticed that there was some drain on performance was when the game created the wheel smoke effects. We’ve made some adjustments and you should see an increase in performance.
Other changes:
Client Crash fixes
Opacity change for Crosshairs
Rebalanced Mass on unobtanium used in Powerful Robocraft. This should feel a little different to drive and be heavier.
Fixed incorrect string for the Battle Matrix unlock.
The CRF Search fix is also underway and may not immediately work but we are expecting it will be fixed within the next day.
Currently In Maintenance - Will Be Live soon!
Hello Robocrafters!
We're currently in maintenance and will hope to be back up and running very soon.
Anyone logging in with the demo will see a "Client mismatch" error, this is because we are in maintenance. We're going to be updating the messaging on that in the future so that it provides you with better information!
We are planning a new update soon which will give you more items to unlock and will improve the look of the game too!
Please stay tuned for more updates and information

Demo Updated! New interior lighting, crosshairs and real-time aiming reticules
Hello Robocrafters!
It is update time! We’re working right now on polishing in preparation for Robocraft 2’s entry into Steam Next Fest. A bunch of new players will join us over that time and we hope that they’ll enjoy the game and be a part of our community leading up to launch later this year!
INTERIOR LIGHTING
Surprise! The new interior lighting is now live! We shared the first look of this just a couple of days ago and you can see it in action via these images
We have some more improvements to the environment planned that we’ll share later too!
REAL TIME AIMING RETICLES AND CROSSHAIR
We have also made live the new aiming system! Most noticeably you’ll see the crosshair updated with new visuals. And depending on the weapon you use, you’ll see a different Crosshair.
For example, this is the new Plasma crosshair:
You’ll be able to see exactly when the next shot can be fired as the recharge bar on the side fills!
We also have small real-time aiming reticles that show in real time where your gun is currently aiming.
If you are using multiple weapons, the crosshair will select the most useful crosshair for that particular build. So for example, if you have a plasma and Laser set up, it will show the crosshair for plasma because you need to see the reload speed of Plasma. All weapons will show the real-time aiming reticles
TECH LADDER CHANGES
When we introduced the timer to Robocraft 2 for the tech Ladder, we said we’d remove it once servers were up 24 hours a day. We have now done that. But we’ve also reduced the amount of Robits needed to progress through each step of the tech ladder. Essentially, every match you play could give you enough Robits to unlock the next step of the Tech Ladder.
BATTLE GATE OPTIMISED
We have also updated the Battle Gate which will make it use less resources as it is built with fewer blocks.
POWERFUL ROBOT SWITCH UP
The Powerful Robots have had a bit of a switch up on the maps! Ma’adim terminus will now feature the Marauder while Helas Basin will include the Judicator.
ONE OF THE MOST REQUESTED BUG FIXES IS LIVE!
A HUGE requested bug fix has now been made live! You should no longer see the camera go inside your robocraft when parts like turrets are destroyed.
MORE LANGUAGES
We’ve added support for the following languages on Steam
Italian Korean Polish Portuegese (Europe) Portuegese (Brazil)
SERVER FIXES AND LOGGING
We’ve been working on some other fixes to server crashes that have been reported and added more logging so that we can help identify issues and debug other reported crashes.
Thank you everyone for the huge support over the last week. If you haven’t wishlisted Robocraft 2 already! You can do so by visiting the Steam Page:
We wanted to talk about an upcoming change that will improve the visual quality of Robocraft 2. A new lighting system! Check out a preview of it below:
The Robocraft 2 engine uses “Deferred lighting” which means that it can support many lights in an environment with minimal impact on rendering performance. If these lights were set to cast shadows, this would be more impactful on the performance.
We are planning to provide a number of graphical settings that impact how many lights are active.
Fastest graphical settings lighting will be disabled
Fast and Normal will have lighting enabled but fewer lights active
Good & Beautiful will have lighting enabled and the maximum number of lights active
This is just the first of our graphical improvements to the game during the development of Robocraft 2. This lighting may make it into the Next Fest demo on October 9th, so stay tuned!
