Hello everyone! 👋

We hope you are having a great couple of months! It has been very quiet on our side, sorry about that! We encountered some economic difficulties that required us to slow down on Roboplant and get another job to survive. But we wanted to squeeze out some more bugs and add some additional content and we finally made it! Ok, we would have loved to do much more but sadly we can’t afford to do this anymore.
We hope that what Roboplant is today is still something you enjoy and love to play!

The focus of the final release was to add some more advanced energy and water producers and storage and do tons of fixes to make the game more fluid. I won’t get into the bug fixes details but look how cool are the new machines!





Thanks again for playing Roboplant and helping us make it better with your suggestions. It was an amazing ride and we loved every moment of it! From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you!

Release: New advance producers, more plants and more

Hello everyone! 👋

We hope you are having a great July! Ours have been nice but quite busy. We have been working hard so that we could release the next big update in time. And we can happily say that we managed to do it.

This is a big update so let’s get to it:

The new advanced production machines


Unlock the most advanced production equipment Roboplant Industries can provide you. Each can help you to massively improve the efficiency of your factory. With more automation, your workers will be able to do more with less time.





New plants


We are adding a lot of new plants for you to play with. Each will have its own requirements and perks that you’ll need to take into consideration. The new plants also look pretty cute!



Loans and investments


It could happen that during your daily activities, you’ll find yourself with either too little money or too much money. So, we added a solution for both!
You’ll be able to take loans to help you expand your business quickly, but be careful they don’t come free. You’ll have to return the money with interest.



Instead, if you find yourself with too much money, then you can make investments to earn some extra profit. You can invest them in safe bonds with a small and steady return or in stock with the risk of losing it.

Workers renting flow


So before you could hire some workers choosing from a pool and you could level up them. But talking with some of you we realized that maybe was not the best path. So we moved in the direction of renting the Beebops.

They’ll work the same way but you’ll be able to rent them customizing them as you prefer. Plus once you choose a partner you can upgrade them with better and smarter AI.



Managing a factory is simplified


We gathered all your feedback and we decided to intervene where you encountered the most issues. We simplified the way you play Roboplant. Let’s have a look:
Rooms don’t need ramps anymore, they are at ground level so once placed they can be used directly. Corridors are still handy if you want to protect your workers from sandstorms and snowstorms.

Stabilizers have been added directly into the room. Now once you place a factory you’ll see some monitors where you can choose the temperature and the humidity of the room.
Energy and water can only be produced, there is no way for you to buy them so it’s totally up to you to maintain your factory active.

Change of price


Last but not least important. We decided to lower the price of Roboplant to reflect these new changes and to be more in line with the market. I know this will affect those that already bought the game and we are terribly sorry about that.

DevBlog: Advanced producers and more in the next big update

Hello everyone! 👋

I hope you're having another great week. Ours has been very interesting so far! Alessia is working on some of the cool features for the next big update while I was following a workshop organized by Spielfabrique. The program is about helping you to become a better indie studio. That is also the reason why this post arrives a bit late, sorry about that!

This week I wanted to talk to you about the next big update. It’s not something written in stone so let us know if you think something should be prioritized more. We plan for this update to go live hopefully in the coming months.

Advanced production machines


Yes, finally! We are going to add multiple advanced production machines that will help you scale up your production. The goal is to have something that requires less time from your workers so that they can freely handle more production lines at the same time.

Take out loans


At the beginning of a game it’s always tricky to balance profits and costs, and sadly sometimes you end up with negative money and there is no easy way out. That is why we want to add loans, you’ll be able to get some money and you’ll have time to get back on your feet.

Investments


Another feature we wanted to add is investments. For those days when you have plenty of money and want to put them to good use. The idea is that you’ll invest a certain amount and you’ll slowly get them back with interest, who doesn’t like free money?

We are also looking into how we can improve the general experience with targeted improvements. The idea is to make a pool or a questionnaire gathering your feedback on specific topics. We are going to work on this in the coming weeks, stay tuned!

Release: New partner skins are out

We hope you are having a great week.

We have some cool news! We finished the last reward your partners will give you when you have a high reputation with them.

I have to be honest, they look pretty cute! And the nice part of this is that when you unlock them they will stay with you forever, meaning you’ll be able to use the new skin in new factories as well.

DevBlog: Partner skins and bugs

Hello everyone! 👋

I hope you're having a great week and enjoying the exciting updates that were released in Roboplant last week. This devblog will be a bit shorter, but I wanted to thank you for your incredible bug hunting skills. We've been busy working on finishing the last feature of the update and addressing those pesky bugs with your assistance!

Hopefully by the middle of next week, you'll have the opportunity to unlock a new reward in your reputation tree. Partners are generously providing unique skins for your workers.


Each skin represents the partner's distinctive style and approach, but remember, you'll need to build a good reputation with both partners to access all of them.

Personally, my favorite so far is the MegaCorp skin, although I must admit, I prefer the hydroponic wheel offered by Sunshine Farms instead of the producer offered by MegaCorp.

Additionally, thanks to your fantastic efforts, we've been able to address several bugs in Friday's small update. However, more bugs have come to light (a huge shoutout to merak for that), so we will be quite busy squeezing them out!

Release 0.9.3 Changelog

Hello everyone,

thanks for your amazing feedback and support. With this update we squeezed out some bugs.

Changelog:

  • Fixed: workers list was not updated properly after a worker was upgraded or renamed.
  • Fixed: wind turbine description was the same as the small water harvester.
  • Fixed: starting a new game show clearly the company name is required.

Release: New reputation system is out!

Hello everyone! 👋

I am excited to announce that our big update has finally been released on Steam! We have made many changes and improvements based on your feedback, as well as added some cool new features.

Let's dive into the details!

New reputation system


First and foremost, we have completely overhauled the contract and reputation system. The new system is more clear, smooth, and fun. After completing a new contract, you will earn a reputation point. Once you reach a certain interstellar popularity level, partners will begin asking you to join them. Your choice of partner will affect gameplay from that point forward, as each partner offers unique rewards the more you complete contracts for them.


To give you an additional way to increase your reputation, we have added the ability to unlock office desks and start doing sales events or marketing campaigns to speed up your reputation growth. It won't be cheap, but it will help you move faster.


As rewards you will get new plants, new producers, and some cool unique decorations. Unfortunately, we were not able to add the unique skins provided by your partners in time for this update, but they will be added soon!


Workers AI experience system


Another highly requested feature is the Worker AI experience system. Over time, the workers' AI will improve, giving you a chance to let them grow and become better at their job without the necessity to fire them and hire new workers. Additionally, since every AI is unique, once they upgrade, you will also be able to choose an enchanter that will give out a special boost to that worker.


Custom difficulty


We wanted to give you more control over how you play Roboplant, so we added custom difficulties. You will now be able to choose additional settings to increase or decrease the difficulty of each game. This will allow you to tailor the gameplay experience to your preferences.

Price fluctuations


We also added a price fluctuations feature. Products' prices will be affected on the market, meaning that the more you sell, the less it will be worth, and the same works in the opposite direction. This means that you will need to diversify your production if you want to maximize profits.

Storage filters


Another cool new feature is the storage filters. When you place a storage in a room, you may want to filter what it can store so that you can maximize the efficiency of each room, reducing the amount of walking your workers have to do. You will be able to do that and also choose an amount that should be kept in the storage at all times. Every time the ship passes by and every hour, your workers will try to distribute the resources from the station storage.

We have made several other minor improvements and fixes but we won’t bother you with those here. For now, this is all, and we will update you soon with what will come next.

Preview Release 0.9.2 Changelog

Hello everyone,

thanks for your amazing support and feedback on the preview branch! We are releasing another small update, this time we don't only fix bugs but also add the two production machines for MegaCorp and Sunshine Farms.

We are still missing the customized skins for each partner but we are not sure if we can squeeze them in time for Tuesday, but away they will arrive as soon as possible.

What changed:

  • Added: New advanced MegaCorp production machine
  • Added: New advanced Sunshine Farms production machine
  • Fixed: Seller role not showing in the workers panel filter
  • Fixed: Reward tree line was going off the modal when over 300
  • Fixed: Feedback form was not sending the autosave as well
  • Fixed: Minor visual issues in the worker detail panel

DevBlog: New Contracts System Part.2

Hello again! 👋

I hope you're having a fantastic week so far! Since our last update, a few exciting things have taken place. We're still working hard to put the finishing touches on one of the major features for the upcoming big update, and in the meantime, we've launched the preview branch with most of the new content released.

Speaking of the preview launch, it's been a positive experience so far. We've received valuable feedback and suggestions for improvement, as well as reports on any bugs encountered. We're actively addressing these issues, and we have two more preview releases planned—one tomorrow and one at the end of the week. Stay tuned for dedicated posts highlighting the changes introduced in each update.

Now, let's dive into three features I didn't mention in our last devblog. They're pretty exciting!

First off, each partner will provide you with a unique production machine. These machines come with distinct stats and requirements, adding an extra layer of importance to your partner selection in your long-term strategy. MegaCorp's machine is larger and geared towards bigger plants, while Sunshine Farms' machine is more compact and focused on smaller plants.

But how you can speed up the growth of your reputation? You can now organize sales events or marketing campaigns to increase your interstellar reputation. You'll need an office and some cash at hand, then it's up to you how you want to plan the next big event and how much money you want to spend on it. You'll be able to choose between different combinations so that you can maximize the reputation gain.



Lastly, the final reward you'll receive from your partner is a new skin that you can use. Once unlocked, you can keep and utilize it not only in your current game but also in future games. Each skin embodies the style and culture of the partner. We don't have an image to share just yet, but we do have some concept art to give you a taste of what's to come!

Preview Release 0.9.1 Changelog

Hello everyone,

thanks for your amazing support and feedback on the preview branch! We are releasing fixes for bugs you spotted and game mechanincs improvements based on your suggestions.

We are still missing two features that will be added this week and we are also not sure the reputation system is still balanced enough, looking forward to your feedback!

What changed:

  • Changed: Now all contracts gives 1 reputation but we made them a bit to complete, especially if your reputation grows too fast.
  • Fixed: When upgrading a worker couldn't choose the second option.
  • Fixed: Volume when starting the game was not the same as the one set.
  • Fixed: Avoryon packaged now requires Avoryon plant instead of Blumboo.
  • Fixed: Minor texts weren't properly localized.
