Roguebreaker

And we're live!

Roguebreaker is now officially live for $3.99!

Let me know if there's anything you'd like to see in the game, Roguebreaker is always evolving!

Make sure to set a resolution if Roguebreaker isn't going fullscreen!

Pre-release patch notes!

I've been hard at work getting Roguebreaker fresh for release! You might have noticed this stuff if you've been hanging on the beta branch but here's a partial list of some of the stuff that has been added:

  • New music and SFX
  • Leaderboard is visible after you beat a level
  • Can no longer go slowmo forever, added a cooldown
  • New upgrades, like starting with extra balls
  • Reworked the ui and polished up fonts across the board
  • Fixed the ball getting stuck in the wall
  • Unbreakable bricks are no longer unbreakable. Besides living a lie, they now break after a number of hits, giving you no score. No more getting stuck on an infinite loop.
  • No longer randomly start on the exact same level every time
  • Prettier main menu art
  • Now even the backgrounds are animated
  • Mouse cursor is constrained to the game board, making the bumper more responsive (hit ESC to show cursor)
  • Can now change resolutions and Roguebreaker will remember whether you're fullscreen
  • Several new levels to master
  • Optimized brick shattering
  • New stats to see in the Stats screen

Roguebreaker's releasing July 10th, 2018!

Thanks to everyone giving feedback, Roguebreaker has come a long way in just a short time! It'll be available to buy July 10th for $3.99, and I can't wait to hear what everyone thinks!

I'm happy to announce that the level editor, stats page, leaderboards and workshop support are all now plainly visible within the app for everyone to try, no need to switch to beta branch!

It's just the start but I've got thirteen separate stats being tracked, from bricks broken, to the times you've bounced a ball off the bumper, or the amount of extra balls picked up. It was a lot of fun to track 'em so if you've got more, let me know!

For the leaderboards, once you've beaten a run, or had a game over, you're now shown your position on the leaderboard relative, and can check out how you stack up compared to your friends and even view the top-scorers in the world! They're wiped and ready to go, so it's never been easier to get a top10 score!

I've mentioned it before, but the level editor is accessible in the Level Select, under Custom Levels, and you're able to share them to the workshop rather painlessly! It's a newer feature, so all of your feedback will help shape it! Do you want tagging support, do you want to see how many people have played it in-game? Let me know!

New version of the level editor is in beta

Hey!

The latest version of the level editor is now in beta. Should be able to import a level from anywhere on your PC and load it up now, and you can give it a cool name. No use for the name yet, but it'll come, I promise!

If you've got stuff you'd like to see in the level editor please let me know in the comments below!

New features coming in the beta branch!

I've been working on a level editor, that is now available on the beta branch through the Level Select menu > Custom Levels > Import Level. So long as you save the map to the rogueout/maps/custom_levels folder you should be able to select it.

It's experimental though, so make sure you back up the maps you make as they might break as I continue to integrate more features.

There's new SFX and art in the beta branch, along with some more levels.

Upcoming development

Roguebreaker's going to be launching with a ton of levels, achievements and of course a level editor. It's been a ton of fun getting the game ready for release and it's been crazy getting everything in order.

If you're interested in testing the game before release, make a post on the discussion boards and we'll get in touch!

Thanks everyone for helping out so far!
