Roller Drama

Roller Drama's First Live Gameplay

On Tuesday October 4th at 5pm (CEST, e.g. 11am in New York) we will live stream gameplay from Roller Drama's demo and even a bit beyond that.

See how you can lead the Roller Derby team of five Roller Derby athletes with challenging personalities as their coach and hopefully friend. Help them in their lives and guide the team during matches!

So happy to show you how the devs play their own game: we'll see the narrative/puzzles part and also the match's gameplay, with hints!

Roller Drama got a new trailer!

Roller Drama is close to completion: it will be out in early 2023.

We recently posted about how Roller Drama's narrative became richer "A Story With A Hundred Twists" . Now we have created a new trailer that presents some of the gameplay; we hope you'll like it!

The Evolution of Roller Drama's Mechanics

Roller Drama development is in its final phase, and now we have a gameplay trailer:

Since 2020 we have kept evolving the game in its narrative and sports mechanics, starting from very rough prototypes:

Roller Derby like matches went from strategy to real-time to how they are now, a mix of real-time actions and time paused strategy choices:

We had a chess-like management of mind states:

that has been turned into a full immersion in your team's lives and situations that you have to deal with interactively.

The adventure part mixes comedic and messy life situations that you have to solve with point-and-click puzzles and interactive fiction with dialogues and interactions filled with choices.

The narrative design too has been evolving, moving from a visual novel style to a more characteristic one.

What is crucial is the interaction between evolving plot and match management; the integration has been thickening in time by creating bridge elements such as "special cards" that can be used in matches and in having a "pep talk" puzzle between "jams" (a three minute period of continuous match play).

About one thing we are quite sure: this is still a unique game! ːsteammockingː
