If you're playing for the first time, beware some small spoilers below, but rest assured that you're about to get the definitive Rolling Hills experience! As always, a big THANK YOU to everyone who has played, reviewed, reported a bug, or given us feedback. This update is for you! Bon appetit! ❤️ NOTE: This update is live now on Steam and coming to Xbox soon. Please stay tuned!
ALL NEW CONTENT:
The "Hats" menu is now the "Customization" menu, and you can use it to equip different honks and costumes for Sushi Bot once you've unlocked them.
After Yeti moves to Rolling Hills, you can interact with the shrine to attempt special Spirit Services. These services take place in preset restaurant layouts and have unexpected obstacles and effects. Satisfy customers to fill the prize meter at the bottom of the screen for better rewards!
Completing a spirit service awards 5%/10%/15% of the XP needed to reach the next restaurant level, depending on the prize tier you reached.
You can do spirit services as often as you like after completing the story.
After Gibson moves to Rolling Hills, an invisible gift will appear somewhere around town every day. Use the L00K-1T to find it.
There's a small chance that the hidden gift that appears in town each day will have silver wrapping paper and contain uncommon rewards like furniture, floorings, or wallpapers.
Several pieces of furniture now have pink variants and gold variants. Look for them in Wren's workshop and giftboxes!
Confetti now shoots out of the Sushi-Matic when Pagliacci Rolls are made.
QOL IMPROVEMENTS:
If you collide with Lil Bot during restaurant service, he'll now "phase out" and reappear when the coast is clear.
While you're facing an ingredient in the market, if you have enough money to buy it, you can press the X button (or C key) to skip the dialogue and buy it instantly.
While you're selecting a recipe in the "Recipes" menu, if you have enough of the right ingredients, you can press the X button (or C key) to automatically use ingredients to raise the recipe's level by 1 instantly.
Rude customers can now be interrupted by honking at them several times.
You can now interact with the Sushi-Matic from behind.
The L00K-1T no longer pings if there are no hidden items to find in the current scene.
The L00K-1T is now automatically disabled during restaurant service.
The reward for recycling a soda can has been increased from 1G to 10G per can.
Lil Bot now only uses the "Supercharge" ability on Charming or Profitable furniture.
In new games, seasons only last 14 days instead of 28. This change doesn't affect existing save files.
The first restaurant service is a little shorter and introduces cleaning.
The second restaurant service introduces sleepy customers.
Tutorials have been added for all of the new features.
FURNITURE:
Your furniture limit is increased by 10 after completing the story.
You can now place furniture in most of the kitchen area.
You can now use the D-pad on a gamepad to position furniture on a grid.
You can now use the bumpers on a gamepad to rotate furniture in 45 degree increments.
Increased the speed of the cursor when placing furniture.
Electric furniture now makes the conveyor belt move faster too.

Quick Update + Thank You!
Hi there! My name is Matthew and I'm one half of the development team behind Rolling Hills: Make Sushi, Make Friends.
Recently, a kind and supportive fan of Rolling Hills visited our Discord server and encouraged me to create an update on the Steam page to let everyone know the status of Rolling Hills. Let me start by saying that we are working on Rolling Hills full-time and are very happy with how things are coming along!
With that said, Rolling Hills is a very ambitious game. Between exploring the town, performing quests for the locals, running the restaurant, and customizing your character, it can sometimes feel like we're making three or four games simultaneously!
Before Rolling Hills, my brother James and I worked on two games: Star Billions and Cold Iron. The former is a mobile game resembling a visual novel, and the latter is a VR game about quickdraw western duels. Each project we work on represents a small step forward in complexity, but Rolling Hills has been a massive leap!
That's in large part because Rolling Hills is the first game we've made with genuine anticipation from players. Although we had no idea the concept and characters would resonate with people when we first started making the game, we are incredibly thankful for the support and enthusiasm we've garnered over the past couple of years, whether at in-person events like ECGC and PAX or online via Twitter, Steam, and Discord.
That enthusiasm has led us to push ourselves to make a game worthy of your excitement. More often than not, that's a great thing, but admittedly it can also lead to second-guessing ourselves and slowing down development for fear of making something that isn't worth your time.
What am I trying to say with all of this? Basically, Rolling Hills has forced us to not only to grow as game designers but as people, too. We've gotten back to having fun working on the game, making decisions not because we think they will please the most people, but because they put a smile on our faces and we trust they'll do the same for you.
So, good news: if you're looking forward to a silly, heartfelt game with magical sushi, plenty of friends, and even a robot, you'll be in for a treat!
Thank you again for all your support and patience. It means the world to me, my brother, and everyone who is helping bring Rolling Hills to life!
