The game is now ported to a newer engine version (Godot 3.5.3) with the result of a better overall performance.
Mod Support is ready!
Hey guys, thanks for the patience! Finally it is done, the mod support is ready for you. It was (surprise surprise) more work than expected, but I think it was worth the effort. I made it as easy as possible, so with just Paint and the Text-editor you can create any unit and any scenario you like. Soon I will put a documentation here for the details how to do it. Until then feel free to try out the new modules I created for testing ("north vs south" is already in the workshop). Join us on discord for help and support... https://discord.gg/yf9nc4bwse In the main menu there is a new option "mod battles", there is the interface where you can load the module. Please let me know if you find any bugs. And have fun!!! :D
Mod support is coming!
I want to announce my attempt to implement a mod-support for Roma Invicta. I won't be able to do that for the campaign, but at least for the custom battles. The following is planned...
soldiers will be customizable by looks and stats (you can even create new types of soldiers)
adding pike-formations so you can implement for example greek phalanx etc.
adding early firearms
steam workshop implementation
here is a preview...
WASD or arrow-keys camera movement implemented
You can now move the camera using the WASD or the arrow-keys.
horse performance improved
I changed the animation mechanics of the horses. Now they get their frames from spritesheets. Before they consisted of individual body parts that were animated in real time (as the solders still are). In detail it does not look that smooth, but the performance in bigger battles is now significantly improved.
French, Italian and Spanish
The game now supports French, Italian and Spanish language!
Release!
That is truly an indescribable feeling. I hope you have as much fun playing as I had with the development.
Of course I would be very happy to receive constructive feedback. But please always keep in mind that this game is not from a professional development company but that I did this alone in my free time... so please be lenient with minor imperfections.
