Localization is here! This update includes all supported languages, so if you've been waiting to try the beta until it was able to speak your language, now's the time!
We're getting VERY close to launching this thing, so now's also the time for any final feedback before a larger audience gets to join in on the fun. Since we're so close to releasing it in the main branch, we're merging the leaderboards back together with the wider world with this build too.
Here's the detailed changes:
All localized languages fully support the new Encore content now.
Fixed bug where mastering the endless mode relic last would not pop the achievement for mastering all encore relics (until you mastered any other relic again)
Fixed Polymorph Staff frogs getting cleaned up after each round instead of waiting around for you to bonk them.
Fixed soft lock with the final boss fight if you polymorphed certain enemies in that room.
Fixed Druid tutorial not working right if you played Druid for the first time on her Sideshow rank.
Fixed rare case where Trinket replacement UI could show up with all placeholder text.
Fixed the Alchemists poison potions hurting the hero for an extra turn beyond normal poison stacks.
Increased Cycloptopus gold values.
Rebalanced new act bosses so potential gold values are all even between each variant.
Fixed finale platform gold values not get doubled when you hit 2 scarabs.

Patch Notes 1.4.4.4 Beta Branch
Huge thanks to the folks submitting beta issues and feedback! Got a bunch of fixes here to smooth things out:
Fixed Focus relic bomb not initializing properly if you save and quit and reload before taking the first shot in a room.
Fixed extremely rare crash that could happen in final boss fight at the moment of victory.
Fixed Endless Mode relic not triggering mastery where it said it would (was triggering at floor 106, instead of 91).
Fixed hero projectiles getting deleted as soon as they were fired if you were too high above the board. (overly aggressive out of bounds clean up logic).
Tricloptopus bosses now behave like all other infected enemies (give poison on contact and get replaced with a little mushroom when they die).
Fixed Text Effects setting not applying to the "UI on the fritz" woe until the next board. Now applies immediately.
Fixed scarab multipliers for the new encore relics so they now stack with Adaptability and each other correctly.
Fixed Gift Giver not progressing his quest line if you completed the quest but dropped the trinket.
Fixed spike damage modifier rules not working (after recent change to support Endless Mode spike damage scaling).
Made bomb timer for Warrior sideshow/relic use default game speed as the ceiling for the countdown speed... so playing with faster game speed now allows you to squeeze a little more play time before it explodes.

Patch Notes 1.4.4.3 Beta Branch
Another couple quick fixes...
Fixed bug that allowed repeated encounters with the same elite before they should be seen again.
Fixed crash if you played a round with potion imps, then a round without them right afterwards.
Fixed incorrect Relic unlock event... Relics that should unlock for winning the Sideshow were unlocking for winning Rank 2 instead.
Keep the feedback coming! We're especially curious now if anyone can really win on Rank 5 with each hero... Let us know if you can pull it off, or if it's just way too hard!
Encore Beta Achievements
We've just added 16 new achievements to the Encore beta.
These are only achievable in the beta branch until we release the Encore update officially on the main branch. Please let us know if you're on the beta branch and think you should have unlocked one, but it's not working for you!

Patch Notes 1.4.4.2 Beta Branch
Just a quick update here with some fixes to bugs reported in the beta branch the last couple days:
Fixed soft lock if you won a round and unlocked the new Encore mode at the same time as unlocking one of the high score relics.
Fixed the rank not showing up correctly on the leaderboards for the first few ranks, and playing the Sideshow intro dialog on rank 2 instead of the Sideshow.
Fixed duplicate dialog if your first ever attempt with a hero was on their Sideshow rank.

2 Year Anniversary + v2.0 Beta!
Hey friends!
Can you believe it’s been 2 years since Roundguard first launched?! Ever since that fateful Friday the 13th, just as the world entered pandemic lockdown, we’ve been making Roundguard bigger and better with lots of major updates and minor patches. We've added daily puzzles, weekly runs, a new hero, new enemies, new relics, silly Halloween and winter holiday events, and more...
Well, we’re not done yet! We’ve got our biggest update of them all, The Encore Update, nearly complete, but we need your help to finish prepping it for prime time. The Encore update is loaded with new content, challenges, rewards, and high score potential, in addition to a ton of bug fixes and polish.
Here’s the deal - Once you complete a normal run for the first time, you now unlock Encore mode.
Each hero has 5 Encore ranks to climb, plus a unique Sideshow with special rules just for them. The higher you climb the ranks, the tougher things will get, but the more gold potential there is for you to make your mark on the leaderboards.
By playing on these Encore ranks, you’ll unlock some major stuff the community has asked for, like:
Boss variety at the end of each Act.
The ability to sell trinkets and make more careful strategic choices about your build.
The Wheel of Woes will shake up each run and make you choose your path through the map more carefully than ever.
5 new Relics, including “Endless Mode” to push your build strategies to their limits.
16 new challenging achievements.
And lots more cool new stuff to discover in each of the Sideshows!
We’ve also added new accessibility settings including Game Speed and Arachnophobia mode. If our spiders were keeping you from playing before, you should be able to complete a run without fear now! Well… with only your non-spider related fears at least.
We’re very excited about how all these new features push people to learn the mechanics of the game more deeply and strategize more thoughtfully, but we’d really appreciate your feedback on how it’s shaping up. Now for the details of what’s in the patch:
The Relic of Perseverance
This is now unlockable by winning Encore rank 3 with any hero. This is a big one! This Relic is essentially “Endless Mode” which has been in the community request pool for a long time. This will let you keep playing after defeating the Act 3 boss by cycling back to The Keep for Act 4 and going through the 3 act loop again as long as you can survive, with player and enemy stats continuing to scale.
Some unique rules to note here: First, it will add the new Trinket limiter and Wheel of Woes rules no matter which rank you play while it’s equipped. Also, your scores won’t be uploaded to online leaderboards while this is active. Finally, to “Master” this relic, you must survive long enough to complete Act 6. Really curious how tough this threshold is for people, so please give it a try and share your feedback!
New Accessibility Settings
Game Speed - This essentially slows down (or speeds up if you want to play with that) the physics simulation speed.
Arachnophobia Mode - This removes all images of spiders from the game (including UI icons), modifies all spider enemies to just be 2 eyed round things with no legs, swaps out spider-y particle effects and sound effects for generic versions.
Polish, Bugs, and Balance
Encore rank 1 now has Act Boss variety, and Rank 2 adds the trinket limiter to that.
Renamed rank 3 to Sideshow, and then adjusted higher ranks to display as 3/4/5 (instead of 4/5/6). Now all "Encore" rank rules stack as you go up the ranks, but the Sideshow rules don't.
Polished Encore menu presentation.
Fixed final boss little worm butt bits so they no longer get destroyed by some invisible colliders associated with non-damaging properties/skills.
Fixed new warrior relic bug where startling audio could play when the bomb first loads in.
Fixed Woe that lets enemies from all depths appear anywhere so now it really includes all the enemies, instead of just the Act 3 ones showing up everywhere.

Your first Rank 3 win with each hero will unlock a special relic that lets you apply their special ruleset to any run along with a boost to your gold potential. Warrior Encore Rank 3 - The fuse is lit, so you have to move quickly!
Rogue Encore Rank 3 - Two scarabs? That’s a lot of gold potential! But you’ll die the instant your health hits zero, so be careful.
Wizard Encore Rank 3 - Thirsty imps are loose and drinking up all your potions!
Druid Encore Rank 3 - A fungal plague has overcome the whole castle, and your only weapon is the cure.
4 new Relics - Each hero Encore Rank 3 win will unlock their challenging ruleset along with a scarab boost to be applied as you see fit to any other run.
Polish & Bugs
The run type menu now shows how many total Encore ranks you’ve completed.
The character select screen now shows which Encore ranks you’ve completed per hero before selecting them.
Druid Wild Vines targeting with the d-pad when using a controller now keeps the highlight on the gold pot the correct size for larger pots.
Added any active special Encore rules to the Modifiers menu during a run.
Armored skeletons now shed the locked health bar correctly again.
Set Seed menu works as intended again (after busting it last patch, oops).

The Mad Doctor (Act 1 boss variant) - Don’t be shocked when we bring ancient pop culture references to life.
Bleary, Blinky, and Goo (Act 2 boss variant) - Castle Springbottom’s original pioneers of physical comedy.
Fungal Heart (Act 3 boss variant) - Seems pretty hard to breathe in there, but act quick or it’ll only get worse.
Balance Changes
Reduced enemy difficulty scaling in the earlier Encore Ranks.
Combining Curiosity and Fervor no longer results in 100% chaos rooms.
The Mad Virologist now throws poison potions at you every turn.
Polish & Bugs
Fixed final boss little worm butt bits damaging less than they should at higher levels.
Fixed particles from air blasts that push you around disappearing too early. Now if you are going to get pushed, you should see the particles, even after freezing time to pause/aim/etc.
Fixed a Cyclotopus bug that could get the big eye stuck closed during the turn it should have been stuck open.
Fixed armored skeletons losing their invulnerability after save/load.
Fixed UI bug with druid sprout quest displaying the wrong number in some situations.
