Ruin V0.0.9α

Hey everyone! I'm thrilled to announce that version 0.0.9α of Ruin is here, and with it comes a whole new set of features and improvements. As a solo developer, I'm always looking for ways to make the game better, and that's where you come in.
Your feedback and suggestions are incredibly valuable to me. Whether it's a bug report or a new feature idea, I want to hear from you.
From now on, I'll be releasing weekly updates to the game. Some of these updates will be small, while others will be much larger and more significant. But regardless of their size, every update will be designed to make the game better.
The price of the game has also increased, not by much but it will continue to increase as more and more content is added!
As always, I'm open to any and all feedback and suggestions. I want to make sure that the game is the best it can be, and I can't do that without your help. So please, keep the feedback coming.
Thank you for your continued support, and I can't wait to see you in the game!

Now for the changelog…

Changes incoming!

Hey everyone!

Progress on the next update is well underway, however It's going to take a bit of time, here is why.

Current state of the game

The game is currently in the Alpha stage of its development, these updates are quick, and were meant to get a feel for the game and mechanics.

Over the next two updates the game will transition to beta, which it will remain in for quite some time, these updates will take significantly longer, each update will require more polish and work.

This is why version 9 of the alpha will take longer than the rest, and because it is two patches merged into one.

While developing version 9, the mechanics being developed would mostly be utilized by the next patch to come after it, and it just made more sense to combine the two patches.

Oh, I should mention this will break saves again sorry!

Pricing

The plan has always been to increase the game price, up to a maximum, when new content comes out that justifies its new cost, you should pay what the game is currently worth, not what it will be worth!

That being said... the current price is $4.99 which is going to increase to $7.99.
(The price change won't occur till after the next update launches!)

Multi-Language support

Just a quick note, the next update will include the option to change the game to a different language, although this will be machine translated, it should open the game up to more people, leave a comment of any languages you would like to use or see in the game.

I hope you are as excited as I am to see the future of Ruin!

Update for Ruin - Alpha (V8)

This small update adds player models to the game.
The models are work in progress, and so is the animations, you can expect more animations and updates to the graphics in later updates.

The next update will be primarily focused on gameplay.

Some other changes this update:

  • Added some lines of code so the camera should no longer be able to go into objects
  • Changed how much you can zoom in, so you can see your characters better!
  • Improved the lighting on some objects and items!
  • Some code improvements, but need to do a full recode of some stuff.

New year, new looks!

With this new update, expect a upgrade for the graphics.

  • Misery island should hopefully look alot better, with improved graphics!
  • Updated some objects visually
  • Optimized some code
  • Added fog of war, if your units cant see them, neither can you!
  • Trees get a change to give them different sizes, hopefully making things look a little more interesting.
  • A way to get new survivors?
