As you read from the title, I have made the decision to turn my game Rumble Runners into a free to play game.
This decision has been made with a heavy heart, since Rumble Runners was my first huge passion project that unfortunately didn't quite get the reach I was hoping for.
I am extremely grateful for the players who supported the early stages and the release of Rumble Runners, and for who were even willing to purchase a copy of the game.
I really enjoyed developing this game, but in hindsight I do realise I might have bit off more than I could chew with a game of this size. I'm a solo developer, a carer to my partner and a father of three neurodivergent children, and during the development of Rumble Runners we were struggling with personal and financial problems that made it hard to commit to developing more content, promoting and maintaining Rumble Runners.
Would I call this all a waste of time? Absolutely not. I have learned many things from developing Rumble Runners. Things I never could imagine I would be able to do , I managed to do; I released a Steam game, with online multiplayer gameplay!. And however few players Rumble Runners managed to have, knowing they all enjoyed their time playing is a huge relief to have.
With this decision, I've also got no more plans to further update the game. Plans can change over time if the moment demands it, but as it stands now, I'm not going to be working on any Rumble Runners content.
As I've got no date yet for this change to happen, I will follow up with another announcement for when the change is happening. Expect at least a week from the date of this announcement for it to happen.
Lastly, for any player who decides to give Rumble Runners a go either before or after the date it changes to Free To Play, either alone or with friends, I hope you enjoy what Rumble Runners has to offer!

Update 1.3.3 is now LIVE!
Hi Y'all!
Rumble Runners 1.3.3 brings some balancing tweaks and a better experience during races.
Gotta go fast!
Have you had runs where you end up being unlucky, just because you're waiting for that pesky speed boost? This update makes it so that you're more likely to get a speed boost power-up the more you don't get it. That might be a confusing sentence, so let me break it down, haha. Rumble Runners now counts how many times you picked up a power-up that was not a speed boost. Using this counter it gives you a higher chance of getting a speed boost power-up. It then resets to zero when you receive one. After 4 times of not getting a speed boost, you are 100% certain to get a speed boost. This should make it a bit easier to catch up to the others.. :)
Impossible 50 slightly more possible.
The hardest mode in Rumble Runners has been made ever so slightly easier by making small tweaks in the Rumbling. For you hard-core players, don't worry, it's still very unforgiving to your mistakes, but now you are less likely to fall by the path just catching up with you, no matter how fast you're going.
Smile for the camera :)
The camera now starts off zoomed out all the way, since that is the preferred zoom with most players since you can see ahead much better.
What's next?
Rumble Runners 1.4 is currently being drafted. It's a much larger major update than 1.3 was, and will be heavily focussed on single-player content. What can you expect?
solo challenges
customisable Hub (also for the Multiplayer Lobby!)
more stats & achievements
more menu platforms
This list is not exhaustive, as the update is in the pre-designing stage.

Rumble Runners 1.3.2 comes with a couple changes to path generation and the power-ups!
Priority Spawning
With this new update, you'll have more control with how paths generate with the help of "Priority Spawning". In the Creator, you can set the priority level per piece or in bulk by setting the creator's Spawn Priority. All pieces placed with that priority setting will spawn in a particular order.
This new feature gives you the opportunity to make the generation flow better when you've placed lots of pieces that would make other pieces spawn slower when you need them placed quicker.
There are 5 different priority levels.
Priority 1: pieces with this priority will be spawned first.
Priority 2: they will come after all pieces of Priority 1 have been placed.
Priority 3: they will come after all pieces of Priority 2 have been placed.
Priority 4: they will come after all pieces of Priority 3 have been placed.
Priority 0: they will come after all pieces with priorities have been placed. This is the default priority for pieces.
The end of the path always has Priority 1 assigned to it. Power-ups always have Priority 0 assigned to it.
Power-up Changes
Thanks to the TikTok poll that was put out a couple days ago, it was clear that some changes were necessary for the power-ups. These changes were made to prepare for the 1.4 Update that will be worked on really soon.
Power-up duration increased from 5 seconds to 10 seconds.
Power-up respawn time reduced from 5 seconds to 0.5 seconds.
Stardust will now spawn properly on Steep Stairs and Low Stairs
More calls are made to load Golem skins in multiplayer
Track generation now spawns pieces on a one-by-one basis, instead of row-by-row, to not spawn too many pieces per frame.
Update 1.3.1 is LIVE!
More creative freedom!
Many shapes have been added to Rumble Runners, which will give you much more creative freedom when building your own paths!
All shapes have also undergone a visual overhaul to make them all consistent with one another. Some changes were made in the glowing material and the particle effects.
To accommodate for the doubling in amount of shapes, the shape selection menu has been changed to fit all the pieces much better. They're also organised so it's much easier to find the shapes you're looking for.
For quality of life purposes, some changes have been made in other parts of the UI to fit the screen nicer, and you can also set the movement speed in the Path Creator!
You can share your creations on the Rumble Runners community on Reddit, simply go to https://www.reddit.com/r/Rumble_Runners/ and share your screenshots! We're eager to see what you'll create!

Update 1.3; Enormous Paths, is now Live!
Hi Y'all! I'm happy to announce the biggest update to Rumble Runners as of yet: Version 1,3; Enormous Paths, is now available for downloading!
So, what's new? I'm glad you asked!
Creator Tags
From now on, any path you make will be linked to your Steam Account! All your paths will show under "My Paths" in the Path Creator and when setting up Paths for races. Now it's easier to show off which paths are created by you, It would be even greater if path sharing was a thing already.. Please make sure you're logged into Steam before making paths.
Easier Controls in the Path Creator
Have you gotten used to the clunky controls from the Path Creator? Well, I'm sorry to say not really to be honest the controls are much different now! Different in a good sense, though! Forward now means forward from the way you're looking and not in one direction only!
The gizmos that used to indicate which way you'd press are gone, because they've been made redundant. Doesn't it also just look much cleaner too?
Making this slope for example, is much easier now!
Rotating a piece is much clearer too; three rings indicate which axis you would rotate over. It still uses the world rotations and does not consider the way you look at the piece, because that would otherwise make it really hard to line pieces up.
Coloured Pieces
Yes, your pieces would already have colours assigned to them before, but this time you have more control over which piece has which colour!
This will make sure the piece is always that colour when its path generates. Now you can make very particular paths, like "pixel-art"... or "path-art" which would be more accurate of a description.
Enormous Path Creator
To make enormous paths...
The size of the bounds in the Path Creator are now much wider and longer, giving you the chance to go enormous with your creations! You can now build in a 21x21x41 area, which makes it about three times larger than before!
Before this update, you could only place 50 pieces per path. Pah! Why stifle creativity like that?! So I took the liberty to increase that cap? How much? 100? 200? Nope. There is no cap anymore. You read that right! The only thing that would stop you now is if it doesn't fit anymore. I'm pretty sure that if you still don't have enough room, you also do not like your PC at all, how is that poor thing coping with all those pieces to consider.
This is one example of how enormous things can get!
The only limit is your imagination!
and the aforementioned size of the creator...
So what will you make next?
For a more extensive list of changes made with this update, you can read the changelog.
Changelog:
Added Creator Tag to Paths.

Let's Get Ready To Rumble - Run! - The Game Master.
Patch v1.2.2 is now LIVE!
Hi y'all!
What's changed with this Patch?
You will no longer randomly crash out of Multiplayer games! This patch was very difficult to get right, as the bug this patch fixes was not consistent. The issue lies with the network latency, or "Ping", where a high Ping would cause problems with loading things.
Sometimes you might experience your Golem's skin not loading in properly. This is due to a high ping and you might then find that some game events don't get triggered right.
Due to a bug within a plugin that Rumble Runners uses; Advanced Steam Sessions, you might've noticed that the Ping is always stuck at 9,999, even when the connection is very strong. Because of that, I've temporarily disabled the Ping display when you look for Parties. This might make players join Parties where they can't get a strong connection with and for that inconvenience I am very sorry. I am keeping my eyes peeled for a solution, but since Rumble Runners is now very stable, this patch was okay to get released.
