Vorkath, Battle for Forinthry - This Week In RuneScape

New quest, new boss, new shard hunt - can you hold the fort against Zemouregal and his ice-breathing ‘friend’?

Upon the freezing shores of Ungael, Zemouregal has awoken the ancient dragon Vorkath - now he intends to use this new-found power to wipe your Fort clean off the map. This would allow the full might of his undead armies to crash into the realms of Misthalin and sow chaos! It is up to you to stop him - with the help of denizens of Fort Forinthry…

Fight your way through a siege in the new quest Battle of Forinthry, before an epic showdown with Zemouregal and the mighty Vorkath! Completing this quest unlocks a repeat boss battle and amazing new rewards, including brand new materials for crafting the epic Dracolich Ranged Power Armour set, the new Necromancy incantation 'Invoke Lord of Bones' and of course the cutest of dragons - your new pal Vorki!

Check out our recent blog for a closer look into the fight itself - and those rewards.

Want to see what you’re getting into first? Check out our Livestream section below to find a list of streamers who will be challenging the dastardly duo on launch day!

With the release of Vorkath and the Battle of Forinthry comes the launch of an additional event, The Vorkath Hunt! Like the Golden Party Hat and Cape Hunt Events, you'll set out to collect 8 shards by completing various tasks. Doing so will earn you the Vorkath Death Guard and Lantern overrides and some sweet gameplay buffs!

  • Infinite Porters: Provides a guaranteed 'porter' effect (which transports valid items to the Bank when gathered) while the buff is active.
  • Passive Regeneration Buff: Your life points, prayer points and summoning points regenerate by 10% every 6 seconds while you're outside of combat.

Buffs can be enabled or disabled by Mr Mordaut (or Mordaut Jr) at Fort Forinthry any time after you’ve completed the hunt. The buffs are available to use for 14 days once you complete the Hunt - disabling the buff will not stop the 14-day timer that begins once you earn the buffs.

Despite the name, you don't need to fight Vorkath to complete the hunt - but it definitely helps! Here are the 12 tasks you can complete for shards:

  • Kill Vorkath & Zemouregal (infinitely repeatable until all shards have been collected).
    • Can be completed during the Battle of Forinthry quest as well as in Story, Normal and Hard mode.
    • First shard is given after one kill , subsequent shards require 30 kills.
  • Complete the Dead and Buried quest (given on login if complete before event starts).
  • Have an active Premier Membership and log in (given on login if active as the event starts).
  • Train Gathering skills.
  • Train Artisan skills.
  • Train Combat skills.
  • Train Support skills.
    • Players will be guaranteed these shards after three hours of training in each particular skill, but have a high chance to obtain them beforehand.
  • Complete steps of the treasure trails.
    • Players will be guaranteed this shard after either 90 Easy, 45 Medium, 30 Hard, 23 Elite or 18 Master steps - or a combination of the above, so feel free to do any clues!
  • Earning marks of war by defeating repeatable bosses.
    • Players will be guaranteed this shard at 2,500 Marks but have a chance to obtain it beforehand.
  • Buy for 15m coins or 5k Protean items.
  • Complete Wilderness Flash Events.
    • Players will be guaranteed this shard at 15 completed events but have a chance to obtain it beforehand.
  • Earning RuneScore.
    • Players will be guaranteed this shard at 200 Runescore but have a chance to obtain it beforehand.
    • If a player has over 31,000 Runescore already they will earn this shard on earning any Runescore.

Combat Beta Launch & Community Hitlist Strike - This Week In RuneScape

Try out the new combat beta, feel the benefits of updates from the community hitlist and check out the upcoming cookbook!

Once again we’re returning to the Community hitlist and checking off some of your most requested changes!

This time around, we’ve enabled combining Brawling Gloves of the same type, pumped up the power of the 'Feeling Pumped’ Mutator and rebalanced the cost of Slayer masks in Shattered Worlds.

We've also had the team sleuthing out the mechanics of Golden Bamboo: the introduction of the Grove updated the backend systems of Woodcutting, which meant players might encounter discrepancies, depending on the boosts and setup used. We’re pleased to say we’ve now been able to restore the flow of bamboo, so grab your axes!

We've also made improvements to Clue-solving flows, among other changes - check out the Patch Notes below for a full list.

This is the first strike of the month, but hopefully not the last. We’re aiming to bring you another strike later in November, so stay tuned!

Whether we’re battling cows in Lumbridge, the undead hordes outside Fort Forinthry, or the next big boss on the scene, combat is a core pillar of RuneScape for many of us. But with the launch of Necromancy, older combat styles like Melee, Magic and Range have started to show their age.

So, we've been considering new ways to enhance the old combat styles you know and love.

From today’s update you’ll be able to access our new Combat Beta! For the next several weeks you'll have the chance to get hands-on with some potential changes to various combat styles - and let us know what you think. We outlined the core changes in a recent blog:

Check out some of the proposed changes:
  • Enable 'Damage Potential' for all combat styles for the player:
    • This is the removal of hit chance and instead, a damage scaler based on % chance to hit (e.g. 50% = do 50% of your damage instead of having a 50% chance to miss).
  • Increase the 'Damage cap' for all combat styles (from 10,000/12,000 to 30,000).
  • Implement a simplified Critical Strike system for all combat styles:
    • Each style will have a % chance to critically strike. When you do land a critical strike, your damage is increased by your critical strike damage % - which increases with your level.
      • Critical Strike chance: 10% by default for all styles, although this could change based on Beta feedback.
      • Critical Strike damage: Same formula as Necromancy for all styles, but again, this could change based on Beta feedback (e.g. Melee could have 100% Critical Strike damage).
        • Note: Melee uses the 'Strength' stat for this.

As the Beta proceeds, we’ll look to include other changes to combat styles, and refine the identity of each style. Together we can work towards modernizing the feel and flow of combat!

Ready to give the Beta a try? Check out the main site for further instructions

Once you’ve given the changes a try, share your feedback with our team through the following channels:
  • The #Combat-Beta channel in the Official Discord.
  • This initial Beta Thread (more subsequent threads may be created as the Beta progresses).
  • Plus: as the Beta progresses we will look to include in-game polls on Beta worlds.

Please note that not everything that is showcased in the Beta will automatically make its way into the live game. We will endeavour to work with players to refine the changes shown and bring them into the live game when they’re ready!

  • You can now use the Elder God Eggs in the Senntisten Cathedral base map to replay the 20 weeks of god dialogue from the release of the Elder God Wars in 2021 (plus a pivotal scene in Eye of Het II, if you've completed that quest)!

  • The Feeling Pumped Mutator in Shattered Worlds once again has a 25% chance to trigger, a 10 second duration, and its 18 second cooldown has been removed.
    • To counterbalance this, Shattered Worlds monsters defeated while under the effect of Feeling Pumped award minimal combat XP, to decouple combat XP gains from unlimited adrenaline (Augmented item XP is unaffected).
    • Feeling Pumped is still listed as a positive Mutator, to maintain expected availability.
  • The Slayer Masks in the Shattered Worlds Reward Shop, particularly those of low-to-mid Slayer monsters, have reduced in cost to make them more accessible to lower-levelled players.
  • The 'I have killed x bosses' quickchat output for Dominion Tower now explicitly states that it relates to Dominion Tower bosses only.
  • The Fort Forinthry and City of Um Lodestones have been ordered (by alphabet) in the Magic Abilities book (note that the Teleport Spells listed below these on your action bar may change as a result).

    • Passive rate: 3s -> 1.8s

  • 'Life Transfer' Incantation:
    • Fixed an issue where it wouldn't function as expected when used immediately after conjuring a spirit.
  • Fixed an issue where the Depleted Glyph in the Necromancy tutorial was showing as non-depleted, preventing progression.

  • Fixed a typo in the New Foundations quest journal.
  • Fixed an issue with the Grifolaroo jump attack delay.

Combat Refinement & Off-Duty Outfits! - This Week In RuneScape

Necromancy combat refinement continues, plus a novel pre-order and a stylish new outfit override - you really can choose books and looks!

Since its release, Necromancy has proved to be an extremely adaptable and versatile skill. We've really enjoyed seeing how you use it in different combat encounters, and watching you unlock its full potential! Now, though, there are some concerns that it's a bit too ahead of the other skills for the overall balance of the game.

Today, we're starting to make some refinements that will reduce the gap between the strengths of Necromancy and those of other combat styles. Over the coming weeks, we aim to bring the other styles up to modern standards of feel and pace. From October 30th, you'll be able to participate in a new Combat Beta so you can try out the new approach and help us refine it with our feedback.

Check out our recent blog on the topic for more information, and see the Patch Notes section for a list of today's changes!

Tired after a long day of defending Gielinor from all manner of threats? Get out of those adventuring outfits and into something a little more cosy! These Off-Duty Attire pieces are the perfect way to show your after hours style.

The visual overrides can be bought as a bundle from the Spotlight tab for 200 RuneCoins for F2P or 180 Runecoins for members. Purchasing will unlock them in the Wardrobe tab of the Customisation interface.

The list of items includes:
  • Off-Duty Gambeson
  • Off-Duty Coat
  • Off-Duty Coat Variant (studded)
  • Off-Duty Jacket
  • Off-Duty Shirt
  • Off-Duty Leggings
  • Off-Duty Trousers
  • Off-Duty Boots

All items except the boots have recolourable parts.

RuneScape: The Gift of Guthix, the first of three planned novels from Titan Books, will be published May 2024 - and it's now available to pre-order!

Asgarnia’s fate hangs in the balance. Disparate tribes unite under the banner of Lord Raddalin, and his enemies look on in fear and hatred. Raddalin’s advisors – an uneasy alliance of Black and White knights – whisper of a discovery in the North that will give them the power to change everything.

Caught in the midst of history, a lowly scribe and the son of a Jarl hold the fate of Raddalin’s new kingdom in their hands.

From the glorious inauguration of King Raddalin’s reign to the disgraceful expulsion of the Zamorakians from Asgarnia, The Gift of Guthix tells an epic tale of the origin of magic, the plight of civil war, and the crushing defeat of the Fremennik Great Invasion. Amongst plots and betrayals, a penitent turncoat waits for her moment to leap into the unknown...

The novel will be penned by Erin M. Evans, the author of seven Forgotten Realms novels for Wizards of the Coast, including the 2011 Scribe Award winner Brimstone Angels.

Pre order now from your favourite local bookstore or online retailers. Also available directly from Titan Books

Combat

  • 'Conjure Skeleton Warrior' Ability:
    • Damage range has been reduced to 22%-28% (was 27%-33%).
    • Additional damage has been changed to a damage increase:
      • Previously, each rage stack would offer 1% ability damage, The average damage would be 55% ability damage per hit at max stacks (30% base + 25% from stacks).
      • Now each rage stack increases the damage by 3%. This is now 43.75% at max stacks (25% base + 75% damage increase from stacks).
  • 'Conjure Putrid Zombie' Ability:
    • Adrenaline cost removed.
    • Base Duration reduced to 42s (-3 seconds).
    • Move speed increased from walking to running.
    • The damage range of the passive poison effect has been reduced from 27-33% to 8-12%.
    • Passive proc interval rate increased from 1.8s to 3s.
      • We have reduced the damage and tick rate of poison as currently it was offering too much passive damage for minimal investment and we want poison builds to have their moments but still require equipment investments to see their full effects.
      • Bug fix: Passive damage will no longer attempt to apply poison while wearing Cinderbane Gloves.
  • 'Command Putrid Zombie':
    • Ability can now be cast without a target.
  • 'Conjure Vengeful Ghost' Ability:
    • Adrenaline cost removed.
    • Heal value reduced to 125% (was 175%).
      • Healing now happens on-hit, as opposed to on-attack, which means that the healing value will scale up based on damage modifiers (e.g. if the target is inflicted with debuffs such as Haunted or Vulnerability).
  • 'Command Vengeful Ghost' Ability:
    • Adrenaline Cost Removed.
    • Command now has a fixed duration of 30s and will require recasting to keep up.
    • Changed the effect from 100% of base damage up to a cap of 35% ability damage -> 10% of base damage up to a cap of 20% ability damage as bonus damage.
      • The intention with this change is to still enable the benefit of amplifying high-damaging abilities while reducing how much extra damage was being generated from lots of instances of low-damage hits.
  • 'Life Transfer' Incantation:
    • Increase duration from 20.4s to 21s.
    • Changed from maximum life points to base life points. E.g if you have 15000 Life Points with 99 Constitution, you will only lose 4950 (which is 9900/2) instead of losing 7500 which is what you would lose in the current version.
  • 'Invoke Death' Incantation:
    • Increased duration to 12 seconds (was 6 seconds).
      • It's still one application per cast, but there was an overreliance at the start of fights on being tick perfect with 'Invoke Death' which made it feel clunky to interact with.
  • Resolved some issues related to Death Mark:
    • Fixed an issue that caused it to trigger multiple times.
    • Fixed an issue where the damage from the mark was delayed.
    • Fixed an issue that allowed Death Mark's insta-kill damage to reflect back at the player.

July Patch Week - This Week in RuneScape

Fresh off of Game Jam this update is chock full of patch notes!

With Necromancy's launch date getting closer, we have begun releasing weekly Insights to help get you up to speed! Our first blog is all about Rituals. Light a candle for our ghostly friends!

Our next Insights release will focus on the story and lore associated with Necromancy! This will launch with a video and blog this Thursday, so keep your eyes peeled.

We've shown you our rework concepts for the Soul Dye item, and today we're delighted to show off its new look!

This new approach combines your favourite bits of the concepts we shared with a new animated texture, which has also been tuned to be slower and more readable. You should be able to pick out each individual ghoulish grimace!

We hope this new design is more in line with your expectations. We really appreciate all your feedback.

Although you can view the new design at the Parcels from the Dead area, the Soul Dye itself has not been updated in this week's update. We're still busy working behind the scenes to bring the updated look to all other dyeable items, as well as the ones on display in the event area.

We expect to release the new-and-improved Soul Dye on July 17th. Please remember that when the new Dye releases, it will override the existing Soul Dye on any items it's applied to.

Parcels From The Dead Event Extension

Since the Soul Dye update won't arrive by July 17th, we're extending the event by one week, until July 24th. More time to get your hands on the Soul Dye!

Wednesday July 12th | 16:00 Game Time | Hooli's Max Party plus Dead and Buried Reward Preview

Join us for a brief preview of the rewards to come in Dead and Buried, our next Quest, before we join Mod Hooli as he hits Max live on stream!

Watch the show live at Twitch.TV/RuneScape. If you'd like to join the in-game Max Party, head to World 139 at Prifddinas' Yew Trees - then onto the Max Guild!

All events below reward bonus Last Wills for the ongoing Parcels From The Dead event.

Starts July 6th | Ends July 10th | Double Dragon Chests

Mighty dragon power... multiplied! Dragon Chests randomly replace standard chests and each one grants a prize multiplier!

Starts July 11th | Ends July 17th | Vault of the Dead

The Vault of the Dead creaks open to reveal a pile of crystal chests! Find the Undead Diamond Chests for big drops of Last Wills, GP or even the Soul Dye itself as a reward!

Woodcutters' Grove & Parcels from the Dead - This Week In RuneScape

Lots of options this week - will you answer the call of departed souls of the underworld for delightfully dark rewards? Or are you going to be more #lumbercore and set up a new Woodcutting haven at Fort Forinthry?

[th]Active Events[/th]

The Beach - Active until June 26th Golden Cape Hunt - Active until June 26th Tales of Pride - Active until June 30th

So, you’ve successfully defended Fort Forinthry from hordes of the undead - now it’s time to establish a steady supply of resources so your operations can continue to grow! Fortifications must be built and maintained, and you certainly can’t afford a wood shortage.

Introducing your new training area - The Woodcutters’ Grove! Set up your sustainable one-stop chopping trove east of the Fort, and level it up to access more trees. Use the new Wood Boxes and Wood Spirits to harvest logs en-masse, and train your way towards the brand-new tier 80 Imcando Hatchet!

Check out the full blog for all the details ewe wood possibly need. Or check out this quick guide to the Grove
https://www.youtube.com/embed/CjusZwgaOKA
When you’re ready to start, meet with Aster or Bill at the Fort. Remember, you’ll need to complete the Unwelcome Guests quest first. Chop chop!

With the addition of these new Planks and Frames, we have also rebalanced the Forts Core Buildings material costs.

These changes are being made so we can substantially increase the XP for making the higher Tier buildings in order to make this a viable training method for Construction as intended. To compensate, the material cost has been increased.

There’s trouble at the Post Office - when isn’t there? - but this time it’s deadly serious. Postie Pete has lost the unfulfilled Last Wills of the dearly departed!

Help gather up the Wills while you’re out skilling, completing daily tasks, or using your Treasure Hunter keys. Once you've gathered a few you can bring them to the Petes outside Death's Domain at Draynor Village. Then you can trade them in for Forgotten Belongings! These are the jumbled-up possessions of the deceased that have ended up in Lost Property.

Forgotten Belongings come in four varieties: Small (White), Medium (Blue), Large (Purple), and Soulful (Gold). And they contain some rewards to die for!

Here’s what you might find:

Soul Dye

Make your swag extra soulful with this luminescent dye! It can be found in any of the belongings, but is guaranteed from Soulful Belongings (you may even find double in there!)

Soul Witch Outfit

Chaos? So last season. Now it’s all about the Soul - and what better way to showcase that you have plenty than with this Witchy getup!

Titles

Some of the deceased left their titles behind when they passed on. Hey, you can't take it with you... Pick up 'Forgotten', ‘The Life and Soul’ and ‘Ensouled’ titles from the belongings.

Rummaging in Lost Property will also yield a variety of postal-themed bits and bobs that the Petes have accumulated over the years.

Speak to the two Petes at the entrance to Death's Office, near the Draynor Lodestone, to get started.

Parcels From The Dead starts today (June 19th) and runs until July 17th. There will be an extra week after the event ends to hand in any remaining Last Wills.

Oh, and remember to check in with the Petes daily to receive bonus belongings for your troubles!

In April we asked you about some changes to the Trimmed Completionist Cape. As of next week's update (June 26th), the Master Quest Cape, Reaper Crew and full Globetrotter Outfit will be folded into the requirements for the TCC.

We will not be adding 'Are You Winning, Zam? II' to the Cape, nor renaming either the Completionist or Trimmed Completionist Capes at this time.

Thank you all for your involvement in these polls! If have any suggestions for other Cape updates, please let us know.

Wednesday June 21st | 15:00 Game Time | Skill & Chill

DXP Continues & Max Cash Dev Update - This Week In RuneScape

Mark your calendars, the Necromancy reveal is coming - plus some very special insider insights from you, the players!

We're now just over one week away from finally revealing Necromancy gameplay! It will arrive on May 30th in a lengthy and detailed Necromancy First Look video - plus another little something extra we'd like to tell you about now....

Last week, we did something we've never done with a skill before. We gave players a hands-on with the skill, pre-launch, to inject a healthy dose of player feedback! Over two days, we had the absolute pleasure of hosting a group of RuneScape Creators in the studio as they were introduced to Necromancy, played experiences from it* and gave us their feedback to help guide the later stages of its development.

Not only did we want feedback from the Creators, but we also wanted them to be able to share their experience with all of you. All our Creators were able to capture their own gameplay footage and will be able to share it - including their impressions - right after our Necromancy: First Look video finishes on May 30th!

While their content doesn't comprehensively cover the entirety of the skill - we're still very much in active development! - there's still LOTS of ground to cover, all told in their own words and from their own hands-on experiences.

This was a really important step for all of us on the RuneScape team. We've been looking to amplify player voices in our development process - Necromancy is built with this mantra in mind, but this trip gave us an opportunity to get valuable perspectives we can only usually get once a skill is released into the wild. We hope you're as excited as we are about it!

Mark Your Calendars

So you don't miss a thing with next week's reveal, here's a rundown of when and where you'll need to be if you're looking to catch the news as it happens:

Necromancy First Look - May 30th at 5PM BST (4PM Game Time)

Join us for a big look at Necromancy for the first time, as we share our vision for the skill in an 8+ minute video packed with developer insights and gameplay. We'll be debuting the video as a YouTube Premier on YouTube.com/RuneScape - be there at 4pm Game Time to share the moment with fellow 'Scapers and J-Mods in the live chat!

Necromancy Creator Coverage - May 30th at 5:10PM BST (4:10PM Game Time)

Minutes after the Necromancy First Look finishes, our crack-team of Creators will begin sharing their experiences, gameplay and VLOGs from their trip to Jagex last week. Here's who they are and where to find them:
  • Protoxx
  • TheRSGuy
  • Maikeru
  • EvilLucario
  • Omid
  • Chevalric
  • Wazzy
  • Waydot

For those not looking to miss a thing, you may want to drop a Subscribe or Follow - while you can expect instant content from each Creator at the time above, they are free to continue releasing further content from their experience at any time!

Necromancy First Look: Developer Panel Livestream - May 31st at 5PM BST (4PM Game Time)

With a reveal this big, we're sure you'll have plenty of questions and discussions you want to have with J-Mods! We'll be live on Twitch.TV/RuneScape to discuss what we've revealed, respond to hot topics from your initial reactions and answer some of your questions.

What Comes Next?

This is only the first stop on the road to Necromancy - there are still plenty of stories left to tell. As development nears it's final stage, we'll be confirming our release date, giving you more insight into the lore and diving into even more detail on aspects of the skill as we lock down the finer details in development. This will be the most comprehensive look at a skill ever, but balanced with maintaining that magic of discovery in the early days of a skill release.

*Note: We have taken steps to ensure the 99 / 120 Level Races will remain as fair as possible, balanced with enabling meaningful player feedback and exciting player perspectives to hear about ahead of the release of a skill. We'll discuss this more in the Necromancy First Look - Developer Panel stream on May 31st.

The release of the Max Cash Update will raise the 2.1b coin limit on your Money Pouch, G.E Trades, Gold Stacks and more to address this long-standing request from the community!

While we're happy to confirm content development has completed on the project, it's also required extensive testing, which has revealed issues in the engine development. These will need to be addressed. Engine releases tends to take longer and need much more testing than content-based work - which means we're now highly unlikely to be able to release this in May as we mentioned in the Development Update.

We know many of you have been eagerly awaiting this one and this will come as a disappointment. The Development Update is all about transparency, with the risk of things being subject to change, so we want to give you the latest timeline on our estimated delivery - which is now June 12th. If the release date gets confirmed or the timeline changes in any way, we'll be sure to let you know. Thanks for your understanding as we make sure we launch this right.

The Jagex Accounts team have been hard at work following the release of the Open Beta, and now there's even more good news - based on your feedback, a Jagex Account can now support up to 20 characters rather than the previous limit of 10!

For those of you who haven't made the jump yet, Jagex Accounts are the new modernised account system offering the maximum security for your RuneScape account. Jagex Accounts offer security benefits like email verification, support for stronger passwords, enhanced recovery, added Bot protections, notifications via email and more - all under one significantly more secure account for all your characters.

The Open Beta is available now - find out how to upgrade here.

Live now | Ends May 24th | Foresight to Train

It's time to train, but this time with extra foresight! New to this edition are Slayer Wildcards, a consumable item which makes your next Slayer count as on-task for XP and drops, plus two new Drop Cleaners - one for Crafting and one for Fletching - which use the new Artisanal Gears to power them!

Starts May 25th | Ends May 29th | Gemfall

Gemfall returns with multipliers galore! Open chests with multipliers, while keeping an eye out for those Gemfalls filled with extra prizes.

FSOA/AD Beta & Spring Survey - This Week In RuneScape

This week we’re bringing you a weapons beta and a free comic book - plus, the chance to have your say in our Spring Survey!

NOTE: it's a Bank Holiday in the UK next Monday, so the next edition of TWIR will arrive on Tuesday 9th. See you then!

Last month we opened up the conversation around some upcoming changes to the Fractured Staff of Armadyl and Animate Dead. A common theme in your feedback was that it would be hard to know how impactful these changes would be without trying them out. Well, guess what…Yep, we’ve been given the greenlight to launch a beta for the upcoming FSOA and AD changes! Dive in, give ‘em a whirl and let us know what you think.

The beta will be going live on Thursday May 4th and will be available until May 16th.Here’s how to access it:
  • Jagex Launcher
    • Head to the taskbar and close any running instances of the Jagex launcher.
    • Click this link. (links will be updated once the Beta is live)
    • The link will load the Jagex launcher then start loading the beta, logging you in automatically.
  • Non Jagex Launcher
    • Click this link, then log in as normal. (links will be updated once the Beta is live)

On first login, your live save is imported into the beta. You can re-import your save into the beta once per hour.

FAQ

Q: I want to test Animate Dead and Fractured Staff of Armadyl - do I need to have them already?

A: Yes. Accessing the beta will transfer over a copy of your save, so you’ll need to own these items already. You will not be provided with a FSOA or have AD unlocked upon login to the beta.

Q: How do I give feedback?

A: You will be able to respond to some in-game polls in the beta, and we will be coordinating an official thread on Reddit too!

Now Spring is underway and the Fort Forinthry Season is in full bloom, it’s time to reflect - and we’re in the mood for feedback! Follow the (

Completionist Cape Strike & Retro Saradomin God Armour - This Week In Runesc

It’s a Cape-fest this week, with fresh alterations and new polls for further changes!

Last month we announced planned changes to the Completionist Capes, and reached out to the community for feedback. Thank you for your insightful and constructive responses! We’ve now made some alterations to help shape this update, and they launch today. More about them in a moment.

But first: in our continued efforts to improve systems, we’re also adding the following in-game polls today!
  • Should the Master Quest Cape be required to unlock the Trimmed Completionist Cape?
  • Should the Reaper Crew achievement be required to unlock the Trimmed Completionist Cape?
  • Should the Are You Winning, Zam? II achievement (Solo 100% Zamorak) be required to unlock the Trimmed Completionist Cape?
  • Should the full Globetrotter outfit be required to unlock the Trimmed Completionist Cape?
  • Should we consider renaming the Completionist and Trimmed Completionist capes to better fit their requirements?

These polls will run until May 7th, so there won't be more information on additional changes until they are closed.

(Please do note that these polls are not the only deciding factor in future changes, rather they are another point of data that can help us make decisions on this topic).

Now, today's changes! Highlights include new achievements for finding all the Hideyholes and completing each type of Clue, player-requested reputation achievements like My Goebie Homies and Conquered Everyone's Heart, and a brand-new achievement: Granny's Favourite Farmer.

Check out the Patch Notes below for the full list!

The power of faith may protect you, but it might also be a good idea to throw on one of these snazzy Armour Sets, just in case…

The Saradomin Armour Bundle arrives with today’s update, costing 630 RuneCoins - or 567 for Members!

It contains:
  • Replica Saradomin Armour
  • Reforged Saradomin Armour

Both contain a full set of armour:
  • Helm
  • Platebody
  • Platelegs
  • Plateskirt
  • Gauntlets
  • Sabatons

You'll notice it's based on the Saradomin version - we knew we needed to settle on one god, because doing multiple gods would balloon the scope of the project.

We looked at the polls and comments around them, and Saradomin was by far the most requested of the God Armours at the time. We hope you enjoy rocking this excellent fit!
