It has been a while, much have happened in the operative landscape since we released the game. Windows 11 is now a thing, Steamdeck exist, Mac requires 64Bit. 50 steam SDK patches has transpired.
This patch includes mostly stability fixes to support the moving target of modern operative systems. And Steamdeck support! RymdResa now runs on steamdeck.
Steamdeck users can now run the game through default Proton. Some of the main blocker for this has been our setup with save/load files and game asset loading strangely. It should now just work.
Windows 11
The game now behaves a little better with updated runtime.
Mac
We now have 64 universal mac builds, so in theory that should work on all kinds of mac until there is a new architecture again.
Linux hackers
The game has been working on Linux for some time now, but launching it through Linux Steam has been flaking over the years. The old workaround to start the ./Rymdresa binary directly from the terminal is the safest way to run without steam. Another hack is to simply run it Big screen mode that will trigger the game to run with Proton
Bit is an art tool with powerful export options, used to compose and design animated pixel art! It concentrates on composition design and simpler mechanical animations like tweening/easing. Moreover, we have a Unity importer available for it.
And here's a link to the manual, where you can learn everything you need to get started. You can for example read about how to create a new project here.
Take care! <3 //Morgondag

We've made three new t-shirt designs featuring the bosses from Vast Void. We're super happy with the designs. The shirts are also super comfy. We love the longs sleeves and the baggy look. *_*
Thank you so much for helping us translate Vast Void! <3 We are especially impressed by the German and Japanese translations! Wow!

Options, localization & Lunar Soil Game Jam
We implemented options for Vast Void.
Options
This was quite a drag to develop but an important part for the game.
Let us know if you have any preferences for important options.
Localization implementation
We started implementing localization and we are excited to see the community translations in-game! above images are from the Swedish and English version of the start screen. The Japanese switch version is going to amazing.
Lunar Soil - Game Jam
We are trying or best to finish Vast Void but we love to explore technical solutions, we played around a little-bit with Lunar Soil and some multiplayer concepts. We got a rudimentary little build working with cross-platform multiplayer between android, iOS, Mac, win and switch.
Two players on different network running around on the purple fields in the Sulfur Crater, Lunar Soil.
Translation - Missions
We've released a new translation document: The Missions!
Here's the missions UI in RymdResa! The missions UI in Vast Void will probably look a little different; however, the content will be the same.
Translation documents
We currently got nine parts available for translation:
Diary Pods - The pilot’s main voiced narrative. Exploration Quests - The quests you get when exploring an entity in space (like a planet, galaxy, etc.). These have the most complex translation structure, as each quest can have different outcomes. Special Quests - The chapter 1 goal texts. These got a much more manageable structure than the exploration quests. The Easter Egg Riddles - Our precious Easter Eggs, containing riddles for the player to answer. The Burnt Ship Voice Log - One of the side quests containing a voice log. The smallest document of them all. =) The Year Event Stories - All Year Events in the game where players are presented with a short story and get to choose among different rewards. The Researchable Upgrades - Our researchable upgrades; all of them having a title and a short description). Consumable Items - These are all the consumable items which the player can find in space. They all got a title and a short description. Missions - All the missions the player can accomplish in the game.
There're still some parts remaining like for example the Boss Battles, UI, regular Items' description - we're hoping to release them soon! =)
Thank you for all the amazing help we've gotten so far! <3
