Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven is a complete 3D remake of the original Romancing SaGa 2, first released in 1993 in Japan.

To celebrate the launch of the game, the SaGa Emerald Beyond developers came together to answer some of the communities hottest question in an interview style Q&A.
Is there any connection between the characters and setting of SaGa Emerald Beyond and past SaGa games? Series mainstays such as Glimmers and United Attacks are still present in SaGa Emerald Beyond, but there’s no connection in terms of the story and setting. Having said that, there might be some places that hit a little harder if you’ve played a title from the SaGa series before.
Can you still enjoy SaGa Emerald Beyond without having played any other SaGa games? Yes - since there’s no connection to other titles in the series, you don’t need to have played any other SaGa games to enjoy Emerald Beyond. There’s a demo available as well, so in case you’re unsure about this type of game, you could to start by playing the demo first.
Which protagonist would you recommend for newcomers to the SaGa franchise, and which would you recommend for experts? Tsunanori Mido is fairly easy to get to grips with if you are new to all the different systems of SaGa. Whereas Bonnie and Formina might be more fun to play if you are already well versed in the series or after you’ve explored lots of different worlds with the other characters of SaGa Emerald Beyond, but if you like a challenge, of course there’s no problem with picking them first!
Do you have any tips for the battles? The trick to having a successful battle is to connect the combo range of each individual tech. In the beginning, just focus on trying to connect the green lines above all else. On top of that, it’s also important to try and disrupt enemy United Attacks.
What kind of play time should I expect? Starting with either of the 5 sets of protagonists, it takes a good few hours - around 10 - to reach your very first ending. Each of the lead characters has a vastly different story and we developed the game in a way that you will never experience exactly the same thing twice. The story and ending will be different for each player, each playthrough - so play time can basically be infinite!
Are you planning any DLC? We don’t have any plans for DLC - but rest assured, there’s already plenty of content in SaGa Emerald Beyond.

What is SaGa SCARLET GRACE: AMBITIONS?
SaGa SCARLET GRACE: AMBITIONS is an RPG that’s all about choice.
It’s set in a world full of conflict and intrigue. The Firebringer, a fallen god and bane of humanity, wrought havoc on the planet. To survive, mankind built an Empire with one goal: defend humanity from this wicked creature.
But now, after a millennium of battle, the Firebringer has been defeated. Left without a unifying purpose, the Empire falls to rebellion. Amid the chaos, four adventurers set out on journeys that will change them and the world.
As for where those journeys take them… that really depends on you. The Free Scenario System has become a fundamental part of the SaGa series. It featured in the recently released Romancing SaGa 3, and it’s out in full force here too.
This system means that there’s no single fixed narrative in the game - instead, your specific adventure changes depending on who you choose to play as, and the decisions you make during their adventure.
As a result, the story you experience could very well be very different to others playing. What’s more, it strongly rewards a second, third or even fourth playthrough - and beyond. Honestly, few RPGs are as replayable as this.
Who are the characters of SaGa SCARLET GRACE: AMBITIONS?
Players can shape their own destiny with one of four exciting protagonists, each hero has their own unique storyline, allowing players to enjoy four different adventures in one game.
The four protagonists are:
• Urpina - the daughter of the noble Julanius family. Also known as the House of Swords, her family is considered to the head of the Empire’s four great warrior houses. When her home is attacked, and her family threatened, she takes up arms to defend them.
• Leonard - a farmer from Yaxart - a frontier far from the heart of the Empire. One day he helps a dying woman who collapses on his farm. The event sends him on a path of danger and self-discovery.
• Balmaint - the legal executioner of Castle Kohan of Provincia Kei who follows in his family’s footsteps. A somewhat… unusual day on the job leaves him with a sense of unfinished business, and he sets off on a journey around the world to complete it.
• Taria - a former witch who lives a calm life as a ceramicist. Her pottery reveals disturbances in the world, and she resolves to investigate the source of the problems.
While playing as one of these four characters, you’ll be able to recruit a party to support them in their cause. There are more than 70 potential allies - and who you recruit will depend on your main character and the path you take while playing.
