Animex 2023
Hello Avatars! ☸️
We will be attending Animex 2023 in Middlesbrough on the 6th, 7th and 8th of November.
This year we have a table where you can come and chat with us.
Learn more about our game Samsara, and use the time to play through our latest demo while offering feedback to our developers as you play.
As we further establish ourselves as the talent pipeline for the gaming and immersive industries, we will be on hand to offer advice and guidance for those seeking to break into creative companies.
And you might just be able to nab yourself a little surprise gift too!
SAMSARA ☸️ is coming along nicely, and we have hit another playtest period. Jambudvipa has seen some changes since our last test session and we are excited to see how it received by our eager testers.
We have adjusted level design thanks to last sprint's playtests further refining the player paths. Also, we have began implementing environmental interactables to change up gameplay and encounters.
Our enemies are no longer placeholder and can finally enjoy their own skin and bones once more.
And bugs! We have been squashing them as we go.

Closed Playtests
Our team has been working to address the feedback you provided during the open playtest over the summer so that we can focus on improving the experience and game feel. Our aim is to deliver a scheduled playtest build, with iterations and additions to the core gameplay and content.
Playtest Info
This weekend we will be running the first of our scheduled playtests, which we invite you to join. The purpose is to get the close feedback of a smaller group of players, with whom the development team can communicate directly. If this interests you and you would like to get involved, please join our Discord and let us know in the #samsara chat.
As with the pre-alpha playtest over the summer, the purpose of these tests is to gauge your reactions to the game and the changes we're making each month. Please be aware that closed testing will be on the current build of the game. This means that there will be known performance issues, bugs and missing features. You won’t need to worry about making bug reports; the focus of the tests will be gathering feedback on several key parts of the experience, such as the appeal of the themes, mechanics and gameplay feel. We’re looking for your honest opinions, so that your voice can be instrumental in sculpting SAMSARA into a quality experience.
We are a small studio that is committed to creating the best game possible from our vision with your input. Therefore, we appreciate the help that your time and opinions give us as we work towards our goals.

Entry to an individual playtest will enrol you into the #samsara-playtest channel on Discord. If you wish to stop hearing from us, simply leave/mute updates from that channel. You are of course welcome to re-join future playtests by asking again in the #samsara chat.

Tests are live over the final weekend of each month. They should start no later than 6 PM (UK) on the Friday and end by 9 AM (UK) on the Monday. However, these are a guide only and actual times may vary. Notices will be pushed in the #samsara-playtesters channel on our Discord when the playtest goes live.
