Samurai Bringer

Samurai Bringer 5th DAY

Hey all you Susanoos out there! How’s your base’s armament collection coming along? Awesome when gathered, exhilarating when used! If you happen upon a Brave General, start throwing hands and try to take him down!

Today we’re going to introduce some especially cool passive skills.

  • Enhanced HP & Enhanced DEF
You’re low on HP, and even after eating a riceball, you’re bound to die quickly... This is when these skills come in handy.
  • More SP Rec. & Defeat SP Rec.
You want to equip a lot of skills to increase your attack power, but as soon as you do, you run out of breath... These skills are useful in times like this. SP management is important for surviving hardcore attacks or escaping suddenly when required!
  • Collector
You can collect scrolls, armaments, keys, etc., automatically. Equipping this enables you to earn what you need more quickly and smoothly.
Just be aware that it also sucks up riceballs.
Feel like you need some more skills? In that case, it's good to use "Dash" to increase our movement speed and "Researcher" to increase your chances of scrolls appearing!
  • 〇〇 Master
Each weapon type has its own "Master" skill, which increases attack speed dramatically.
Note, however, that this skill is ineffective unless the corresponding weapon is equipped.
  • 〇〇 Resistance
There are times when you get burned by a flame attack, or spun around by a storm attack, or drowned in a poison bog that you spread yourself, right? When this happens, you can attack one-sidedly with confidence by equipping a set of resistance-based skills.
It also has the benefit of halving attribute attack damage from Brave Generals and boss yokai.
  • Damage Wave
This provides a low probability of generating a shockwave when taking damage. If you're equipped with some type of attribute resistance, the type of shockwave will correspond to that attribute.
  • Berserker & All or Nothing & Spirit of Asura & Fury
All of these skills increase attack power: Berserker makes you impossible to guard against; All or Nothing randomly changes damage type; Spirit of Asura halves HP; and Fury increases attack power as HP decreases. Attack power will increase significantly, but there are downsides to these skills as well, so use them with care!

Some passive skills require achievements to be unlocked as a condition for obtaining them. There are several other elements that can also be unlocked via achievements.
Since the unlocking of achievements will also strengthen Susanoo, be sure to check out the list of achievements and unlock them as required.

Today’s Tip: Don’t you feel like you’ve seen the armaments lined up at the northwestern part of your base somewhere before...?

Samurai Bringer 4th DAY

Hey all you Susanoos out there! Have you found your favorite piece of equipment yet? Or are you just going for anything super tough? That’s totally OK, too. Go on and get as strong as you can!

Now then - have you noticed that HP and SP aren’t the only types of “status” in the game?
Attack power is not only determined by the specific skills combined, but also by Susanoo's status.
If the passive skills of your armaments have effects such as increased attack or defense, you can actually see the status increase.

To do this, simply press the Y button on the Gear Builder screen!
This will display your current status at the bottom of the screen.
Equipping him with passive skills that enhance his attack/defense power will strengthen his original stats, so the same technique will do even more damage!
However, there are many other useful skills as well, so deciding which skills to equip can be tough...

In addition, at the blacksmith's shop, you can strengthen two of your armaments by combining them.
This is not just a facility for attaching and swapping passive skills; in fact, when combining equipment, there is a certain probability that the resulting piece of equipment will be enhanced.

Do you see the five dots on the far right side of the equipment? This is actually the enhancement value.
When you equip an enhanced piece of equipment as armor, its defense and speed will increase; when you equip it as a weapon, its attack power will increase.
If you have extra money and armaments, try combining all kinds of stuff!

Sometimes a Brave General will drop enhanced armaments. The probability of this happening just may increase as the days progress...

Today’s Tip: You can't unlock equipment at the base with the armaments you get from treasure chests! Do your best to defeat the Brave Generals!

Samurai Bringer 3rd DAY

Hey all you Susanoos out there! How’s collecting Combat Scrolls, magatama, and armaments coming along?

Today we’re going to introduce some extra-cool skills and combinations.
There are some things that the Master will teach you in the game, but there are so many that it gets pretty hard to remember them all. Try some of these out and master them with practice!

Recommended Skills:

  • Expand: Your weapons will grow, extending your attack range. Weapon size increases incrementally with the number set. Gun bullets, etc., also grow larger. The image shows a sword at normal size and when enlarged.

  • Samidare: A single attack hits in succession. The number of hits increases with the number set. In the case of a gun bullet, for example, it represents the number of times it penetrates the enemy.
  • Defense Break: Brave Generals/Clan Leaders actually guard surprisingly often. The probability of a guard break increases with the number set. Foot Soldiers will not guard.
  • Power: When combined with a direct attack such as a sword, an effect will appear when the attack is launched and a super armor effect will be added. The speed of the skill is affected by the number set.
When combined with gun bullets or other weapons, the bullets will ricochet when they hit a wall. The number of ricochets increases with the number set.
  • Guidance: When combined with gun bullets, etc., this skill will home in on the enemy. Homing time increases with the number set. This skill is indispensable for guns and war fans.

Recommended Combinations:

  • Multi-Jump: This one is really simple, but by stringing together a series of separate jumps, you can make it over high walls and cliffs since you can jump in the air as many times as the number of this skill you've set.
  • Power Step: Combining 4 Steps with 4 Powers enables you to execute a special skill called Power Step, which can cancel attacks, etc. This skill is very useful not only for canceling your own attacks, but also for escaping while being attacked by the enemy.
  • Aerial Attack: Adding Jump to certain skills will provide a floating effect. 4 Jumps will make you fully airborne!
If you attach it to an attack, you can attack without falling after jumping, and if you attach it to a Step, you can move without falling down. Normally, if you attack in the air, you will fall down, but when floating in the air, you will keep floating until the end of the move, and then fall down when the move is over. This is good for enemies with higher-up weak points, such as boss yokai!
  • Sword Thrust: When equipped with a sword set with 4 Slash Downs, 4 Slices, and 1 Jump, you create a skill used to jump and thrust your sword into the ground. This is a rare technique that allows you to jump and strike from up above the enemy's head.
  • Drill Thrust: If you have a spear equipped with 4 Thrusts and 2 Steps, it allows you to execute a move that thrusts toward the enemy, rotating and plunging into them for a big show.
  • Weapon Throw: If you equip a double-edged sword with 4 Reverse Slices and 1 Step, it enables you to attack by throwing a spinning weapon. And after the throw, it can still be used to attack normally, making it useful as a projectile weapon!

These combinations increase in effectiveness and power as the number of skills set increases, and they can be further enhanced via repetition and attribute skills.
There are lots of different combinations that produce special skills, but many of them are not specifically named. By all means, give them whatever name you like, and be sure to drop us a line and tell us about "My Very Own Awesome Skill"!

Today’s Tip: Be aware that adding multiple attribute skills won’t change a skill’s effectiveness!

Samurai Bringer 2nd DAY

How are all you Susanoos out there enjoying your samurai- and yokai-conquering adventure with Samurai Bringer?

For those of you who are having a hard time making progress, are you maybe taking on the boss yokai right away? Or are you maybe attacking lots of famous samurai?
When starting out, first, take your time and focus on regaining Susanoo's lost strength.

You can obtain Combat Scrolls by defeating the three types of samurai: Foot Soldiers ("goombah"-type enemies), Clan Leaders (not that strong, but well-known), and Brave Generals (super strong and famous generals).

Collecting and equipping lots of Combat Scrolls will increase the attack power and performance of your techniques. Try employing various different combinations.
Certain combinations can even activate special techniques! One simple example would be equipping one Slash Up and one Jump when equipped with a sword, which would result in an exhilarating technique in which you slash the enemy while jumping, blowing your opponent away in a tailspin.

When an enemy of Clan Leader status or higher is defeated, he may drop a key. These keys can open treasure chests that are dropped on the field and contain various armaments.
*On occasion, enemy generals may appear from the chests. They're really tough, so run away if you're not yet ready! Cherish your life!

In addition, when a Brave General is defeated, they may drop their equipment. As soon as you pick it up, you will immediately benefit from the equipment's nifty passive skills, plus you'll be able to put on a specific set of equipment at your home base the next time you play the game.

Although some of the armaments displayed in your home base cannot be equipped without a certain level of status, many of the combat technique combinations are unique, so try out lots of different things after acquiring new equipment from a Brave General. There's bound to be a Brave General out there with your favorite special skills!

Also, as time progresses and the days change, the foot soldiers and generals become stronger, so if you don't feel that you're up to the task of taking them down, try challenging the boss yokai. The strength of the boss yokai remains constant as time progresses.

Today’s Tip: Riceballs do not disappear even if they are not picked up. So save them until you lose your strength. If you have auto-collect set as a skill, you'll eat riceballs as soon as you find them! Additionally, apples growing on trees can also actually be eaten to recover strength.

Samurai Bringer 1st DAY

Japanese-style rogue-lite 2D action title Samurai Bringer is out now!

Many of you have likely felt somewhat confused by the “rogue-lite” genre.
The “rogue-like” genre is popular for its tense gameplay in which you obtain different kinds of equipment and skills to become stronger and stronger, but when hit, you lose all of that progress and hard work.

To an extent, the same goes for Samurai Bringer, too - if you get hit, you have to start over from the beginning, but this game is actually "rogue-lite". That means you have much less to lose, and the more you play, the more you can regain the lost powers of the main character (and your alter ego), Susanoo, gradually becoming stronger.

For example, you can score in-game achievements by defeating lots of enemies, improving your weapon skills, or solving puzzles past a torii gate to obtain "magatama". Collecting magatama allows you to increase your maximum stamina as well as the number of skills you can set, and execute combo attacks.

One of this game's especially awesome features are the plethora of skills and the various combinations you can make with them!
Combining skills is simple: a single Reverse Slice is a simple attack, but when combined with "Expand", "Wave", lightning attributes, etc., the weapon becomes larger and the attack itself evolves into a devastating and flashy maneuver that shoots shockwaves and causes lightning strikes.

Susanoo starts out relatively weak, but eventually he will become able to demonstrate his divine powers by unleashing beams that cover the entire screen, raining down meteors, and flying through air and continuously showering the screen with slashes.

Increase the number of skills you can set, then set as many as possible to become virtually unbeatable! This play method may be simple, but it's reliable.

You, the player, must jump into the role of Susanoo and take on the task of defeating all of the samurai and the yokai.
We'll be regularly posting info to help all you Susanoos out there to become stronger, so be sure not to miss it!

Today’s Tip: Enemy attacks can be guarded against automatically if you’re facing their direction!
