Levels: Themes & Environment

The levels 1-3 are named Containers, Mining and Terraforming as you know. The robots are gathering lost cargo, producing building material and blowing impending asteroids. The theme is "Preparing".

The levels 4-6 share the theme "Constructing". This is about building stations for pioneers. There are construction sites, workshop modules, generators, production of food, extraction of water and oxygen.

The latter requires ice, so I integrated this new environment:

And here you see a small workshop module with plasma welders attacking the player:

Fallback melee weapon & Levels reworked

Salvage ram

The player's ship has been equipped with a new tool. It's a fallback melee weapon with a quite low rate of fire and does only little damage. The salvage ram allows a more aggressive playstyle.

Size of levels

The size of the levels has been reworked. Level 1 is the entry point for new players. It's size is managable for newbies and therefore remains unchanged. Level 2 has been enlarged by a third. Level 3 has been enlarged a bit in oder to get the same size as level 2. So the levels 2, 3 (and further) are now bigger by half than level 1.
Also more items have been placed, especially ammo!

3 procedurally generated variants of level 2. Player's carrier marked with white point.

Wrecks

New level parts have been added. These are variants of current parts, looking wrecked. They moan and squeak metally at times.

Refinery and container dock, both with related wrecks

Item graphics

There have been placeholder graphics for almost all items which are part of the game by now. These graphics have been redrawn. It's a matter of 2D sprites the size of 32 x 32 pixels.

Complete overview, arranged according to category.

Some items ingame including lettering. They can collide and move and they can be picked up by the player.
