Things don’t go as planned and the Metahedron hauls the team across space onto a mysterious extrasolar plane.
It’s here that Kate wakes up alone on a strange and hostile world; determined to survive, she sets out to find your crew and unravel the mystery behind what’s happened.
In this new Making Of video, learn more about Scars Above’s lead character: developers from Mad Head Games will give you a real insight into her creation and evolution, and how she ended up alone and lost on an exoplanet. Kate is an astronaut and scientist, but she is no fighter. The developers will explain how her skill set directly influenced the design and flow of the game.
But that’s not all; you will also get to meet the actress who voiced her, the talented Erin Yvette!

This playable demo will let players experience the whole of Chapter One, allowing you to get across the game mechanics and experience the harsh world that Dr. Kate Ward has to explore and survive in.

What is Scars Above?
Scars Above is a challenging sci-fi third-person action adventure shooter - set on a mysterious alien world – which has players facing a plethora of challenges as they unravel an intricate and compelling storyline.
The game follows the journey of Dr Kate Ward, an astronaut – part of a team of scientists and engineers - sent to investigate the appearance of a colossal and enigmatic alien structure in Earth's orbit.
As the team approaches this structure – named the Metahedron – they get transported across space onto a mysterious extrasolar planet. And it’s here you find yourself dazed and confused, alone in a strange, hostile environment. Determined to survive, you set out to find your crew and unravel the mystery behind what’s happened.
About the demo
This demo starts shortly after the prologue and continues throughout the entirety of the game’s first chapter, giving you an idea of the main game mechanics that shape Scars Above and putting your skills to the test.
