- NEW PEN SYRINGES! They relieve various side effects and also give you some buffs.
- A MEGA HELMET! Seriously, it's huge.
And more animations! We now have new animations from the first and third person, now you can see how the character picks up something. Also more realistic camera shake when moving and running. + Standard bugfixes, fixing lights, new spawners and a new "rarity" parameter for loot.

Autumn updates
New month, new list of changes and updates:
- GLOWSTICKS! FLARES! There won't be any idol concerts of course (probably), but now you can better navigate in the dark. There will be glowsticks of different colors, and also flares. Here's a picture of the glowsticks:
- REDESIGNED CONTAINMENT ZONE! It looks completely different now. Really, we changed 90% of it: redesigned the walls, the floor, and even the layout of some rooms. And yes, new baked lights!
- MEDICINE! Blood packs, tourniquets and medical ware have been added. These will be used to stop bleeding and replenish blood, and will be more useful than regular bandages
- NEW MP5 VARIANTS! We plan to add a lightweight variation of the MP5 with a silencer. Its difference is the size, so it can't be placed in a small weapon slot.
But not only with a silencer, there will be a full-size variation, also for a large slot.
It is also very important that now we are adding a ton of new sounds to the game, as well as localization, although it takes a ton of resources. Recent updates (RESPAWNS! BRAIN IMPLANTS! What?)
First of all, we want to implement more features and fix some bugs, so the public playtest has been postponed for a month.

So, a lot of interesting changes have been made:
1. The most important update is the RESPAWN SYSTEM! Now dead players have a chance to be reborn into a support soldier during an ongoing game session. But not only soldiers... We will tell you the detailed mechanics in a separate post.
2. The next feature is Brain Implants. What? Implants? Yes, implants. No, we're not in cyberpunk, it's just that the support soldiers will have them in their heads. The first of the implants is the MICROBOMB. You can see it in your inventory, and it has the following benefits: - Your head can be remotely detonated. Pretty cool, right? - [DATA EXPUNGED]
In addition to this, there is also a slot for the SENSOR. The Sensor allows you to see the health of players who have the same SENSOR. This way, the support soldiers can distinguish others from their own and take care of each other like a real family (not).
Only support soldiers will have them, they will not spawn at the beginning of the game. Normal soldiers and security service will not have such implants.
3. STEAM SERVICE INTEGRATION! Now you will see the avatar and username of players from their STEAM account. Goodbye Player_0 Player_1 and Player_undefined
4. SOUNDS! They now have a radius. Yes, you can now hear the footsteps of other players.
5. The most long-awaited: we fixed the back of players. Now you can look under your feet, those who were in the playtest will understand
6. The game now supports custom servers, which are created by the players themselves, and displays them in the list of servers with the others.
Autumn updates
- First and foremost, our playtest was played by **5k people** at an average of 100 concurrent online players! This is an incredible result which we're proud of, and we hope for even more for our next playtest! - We've added Steam integration, displaying private servers on the server list as well as the quantity of online players. - We've found major bugs, which are already being promptly fixed. - We have some plans for the next playtests, including but not limited to: - Increasing the number of rooms in the complex. - Adding more roles. - Implementing a respawn system. (Already in the works) - Increasing the number of sounds.
And here are some highlights from our last playtest:
- SCP-457's ability to destroy and burn doors! Also SCP-457's ability to absorb in-game items and become smarter (allowing it to open doors instead!).
- SCP-280's teleport ability.
- Unrealistic point-blank kill of a scientist.
- A PoV for a very intense firefight!
PLAYTEST SUMMARY
Thank you all! We received a lot of feedback and found a lot of bugs, as usual. As we said before, this was just a test, and such tests will continue.

THE PLAYTEST HAS BEGUN! JOIN NOW
New Features:
New locations, improved graphics and reduced video memory consumption (expected to be around 8%).
Added SCP-457 with most of its mechanics (not finalized).
Added VOICE CHAT. Yes, VOIP is finally implemented.
Optimization of the LOADING OF DOORS! That's about 20% of the game, so that along with optimization of network objects should considerably increase FPS.
Other important optimizations
The round time was reduced by 50%.
Anti-AFK system introduced to prevent AFK players from filling available server space.
Slightly expanded the surface, limited due to time constraints (there are plans to have an open sky exit).
Rework of inventory coding, fixing most of the bugs. Cosmetic improvements soon.
General baked lighting implementation, reducing GPU consumption.
Many small improvements, such as doorways form factor, door keypad interface details, loading of seamless materials, and turrets and their functionality.
The playtest would be postponed for one week (until next Friday), which should be enough time to fix the technical issues we found yesterday.

Price Update and Launch Date
After the Games Gathering Conference and latest updates, we have decided to change our price policy. This will not affect our playtests before early access! They will still be free-to-play until EA is released. After early access launch at the end of this year, the game will cost $4.99.
Here's why:
- First of all, we're getting bigger than we expected. The project that was planned as an indie experiment is growing to be something unique in a big scale.
- Hiring volunteers is very risky. A few months ago, one of the “volunteer” coders simply stole the assets and blocked us :/. We don't know what he can do with it, because all assets are protected by Steam, but the situation is a little bit sad anyway, so we must be more careful and hire experienced and trustworthy people for money.
- Publishers and investors are only interested in premium/paid games. Free games are risky and it's hard to explain how we can “get money” with a free game through monetization, and we don't want to bring any form of “pay to win”.
- Lastly, anti cheat and cheaters. In a free game, that can easily go out of control, so a price wall can cover that and prevent “multi-accounts” and the likes.
In-game monetization is definitely harder to develop than simply having a Steam price. We know that some of you will be worried about it, but the price will be and will stay small. We'll cost like two cups of coffee. Before launch, we will publish a full gameplay trailer, with all mechanics, roles and features, to let YOU decide if we are worth buying.

As we promised, a new playtest will take place soon. We are waiting for you at our second public test on 18.08
Our main features for the new playtest:
VOICE CHAT. Yes, you will now be able to yell at SCP or an armed guy who isn't sure if you're a scientist. BIG GRAPHICAL UPDATE. More baked light, new doors, some map improvements. BALANCE CHANGES AND BUG FIXES.
Thank you all! We received a lot of feedback and found a lot of bugs. As we said before, this was just a test, and such tests will continue.
The cycle will be simple: we'll make some bug fixes , add some new content and mechanics and then reopen the test for a couple of days. After that we'll get feedback and then work again until next test date. After a certain number of cycles, the real early access will come out.
And now, about the important innovations after the first test:
- The inventory will be completely redesigned. Old idea is interesting, but the new concept will be much more convenient, clearer, and won't break the game as much.
- MORE ICONS! For every type of clothing.
- Slight rebalance of damage and bleed chance throughout the game. We've noticed various oddities, and we'll fix them
- More propping variations.
- And finally, VOICE CHAT. We will try to integrate it for the next test. ROBOTS. VACUUM. CLEANERS. WE (DO NOT) HOPE.
